Optimist, Pessimist, or Realist?
Just wondering, what type of footbag player you are ... Allow me to explain ..
Optimist - Often thinks of cool combos or moves in your head prior to a session and think you will be able to do them, but when you try them, you are no where close, and can't really hit what you thought you could in your head.
Pessimist - You think of moves or combos in your head, and think they are unreachable and you won't be able to hit them, but then when you do hit shred you are able to hit them.
Realist - You often have a good pretty idea of what moves you can and cannot hit when you think of them.
I'm a bit of each I'd say, but mostly an optimist, especially when it comes to bigger moves. I always think "I should be able to do that" and I picture myself doing it in my head and it seems easy, but when I actually try it, it doesn't quite work out that way.
So what kind of footbag thinker are you?

im thinking that ur options dont make sense to me...why cant u be an optimist then go out and hit the combos? and why does being a pesimist mean that you dont believe you can do it, then you do?
im probably a Realist though, i try to stick with moves i know i can hit or should be able to hit, and every now and then i dabble in things that are a little beyond my reach, like Whirlwind or Vortex.
but usually even the stuff i can hit, i dont actually hit

Optimist - one who usually expects a favorable outcome.Chopper wrote:im thinking that ur options dont make sense to me...why cant u be an optimist then go out and hit the combos? and why does being a pesimist mean that you dont believe you can do it, then you do?
So if you expect a favorable outcome and don't get it, you are an optimist from my definition, if you expect one and do get it, you are a realist.
Pessimist - A tendency to stress the negative or unfavorable or to take the gloomiest possible view.
You think negatively, but then you end up doing it. If you thought negatively and couldn't do it, once again you'd be a realist.
I was merely talking about someone's thinking style when it comes to footbag moves.
Make any more sense now?
