Psilocybe, Im not quite sure why you changed your post so dramatically, but I understand where you were coming from with everything. Playing for yourself is really the way to go.

6.8.10

Played 2 times, once yesterday and tonight after work. Drilled my whirl bs like a madman. Worked osis and ducking clip more. Still kinda rusty. Wish I could take vids so you guys could leave me some feedback, but my camera is MIA. Hopefully I can make it to a tournament this summer. Not sure which ones are close to me though

Played a couple sessions with my friend Dan recently. Im glad that a close friend of mine is getting into the sport. Im trying my best to train him as I continue to progress my own game. Ive been noticing that 2's are slipping out of my game slowly, which does make me happy, it feels like the 3's I hit now are so easy its almost like playing with 2's, definitely a great feeling. Started working on spinning recently and its also something Ive been wanting to add to my strings. Hopefully this summer will be fun and I will have more time to play. I played 2 times today, which is something I havent done in over a year. I feel the progression coming along.

Oh, and by the way.. Im going to Funtastiks!

6.21.10

I have been dying to make a video, but sadly my old camera is no where to be found. I might be getting the iPhone 4 on its release date this thursday, and that would be great, because I can record tons of footage in 720 p (HD), edit it in iMovie, put a song in it from my iPod, and post it on youtube and modified all from one device. Pretty incredible.

I ordered 3 bags from Brian Bear, and the one I have received is phenomenal! The other 2 are being shipped as I type. It was my little treat to myself since I havent purchased any bags in almost a year, and I needed some new ones for the summer anyway.

As for my game.. I have been playing like a maniac. Almost every day, which makes me really happy, especially since the progression is coming along. I have started working on spinning and drifters, which have clicked, so Im gona take more time to work on stepping and ducking more in my strings. I feel really happy that I replaced my far legover with pdx illusion. And that I replaced my ss mirage with ss dlo, osis, pdx mirage, ect.. Theyre all very good trade offs and hitting less 2's in my strings feels great, especially when the 3's happen naturally. I worked on the tri-force drill yesterday at the end of my session when I was ridiculously exhausted, and made it to 7, which was about 50 clippers or more in one string. I was excited about that, especially due to my fatigue.

I know I cant show you guys a video of such tricks im having problems with, but I thought maybe you could help me out a little on getting some things squared away so that I will be set for the future. Here are some questions, that I would love if you guys could help me with.

How should I go about learning paradon or any double downs?

How are you able to plant your feet correctly before the mirage in atomsmasher? (My set feels great and is almost duckable, but I cant quite figure out how to plant my feet to do the mirage afterwords)

any help :?:

7.1.10

Played with John Goode today. His game is brilliant, and Im very envious of what he has become as a footbagger.
I have played non-stop through the month of june, and Im happy that I have got to the point that Im at now. My friend tyler that I have been having sessions with is getting so good, and Im really happy to see improvements every session. Tons of props to John and Tyler on todays session. As for me, I played very below par. My right thigh cramped up and I wasn't able to perform to my usual game. Its unfortunate, because I was hoping I would feel better today due to the scheduled session I had with John. Oh well, its not my fault, I suppose I should just give my legs a rest once in a while.
John helped me with a lot, gave me tips on Osis and Spinning. All the advice was so helpful, and I'm really happy I got to play with him today. I actually hit my first Barrage earlier, and got decently close to hitting Paradon downtime. I will be drilling it all this month, and hopefully have my game at a higher level when I go to Funtastiks this September. I have 2 months, and I plan to compete. Its going to be very fun to compete against John and Jordan Z, since were all good friends; and maybe even my friend tyler will compete as well.
I will continue to update this as much as possible, because I enjoy writing about my progression; and seeing what my fellow footbaggers have to say.

Whoa I remember reading this blog when I first started out a few summers ago. It's cool to see your still pumped on the game and kickin'.

It's good you play with John G. He definitely knows what he's talking about.

Keep it up man.

I can see progress. Im starting to have happy sessions. Less frustration and less negative feelings towards my game. My last 3 sessions have been really fun, and I have been able to grasp most of the concepts I have tried to tackle since last month. I have started working on paradon and barrage, and I am able to hit them downtime on one side. My next couple of sessions I will work those 2 tricks very hard on my flip side. I am happy with my stepping and spinning because I dont really have a strong side with them. I started flip atomic stuff recently and I want to give zooming a shot soon. Footbag is such a big part of my life, and I am very happy with it, even when it has its downs.

I wana get paradon downtime flipside because its a concept I love and Ive been able to hit it downtime on my strong side a lot recently, which makes me happy. I also need to start doing more flip eggs. Oh, and I footed barfly a couple times! Thats one that I would love to hit.

My legs are feeling a lot better. Should be getting the new iPhone next week, so I can start filming me play. Criticism is something I would like right now in my game. I started drilling illusions more, not only just pdx illusion, but ss illusions, theyre really important, and since I love illusions, I really would like to get them solid. I love illusions out of sets, and pdx illusion is one of my favorite tricks.

Dude, you're having some rockin highlights lately. I'm really impressed with the osii.

In regards to who plays where in the city, you can join the yahoo group for NYFA. You'll get emails every week as to where everyone is going to kick. More times than not, it's at Washington square park, but it is also at Union square a lot too
