I would join in but don't feel like a competent enough stitcher and don't want to saddle someone with one of my bags, maybe 30 or 40 bags from now though

to swap panels is usless imo, the main goal of this is to trade a bag ... not fabric/templates/colors. even with those, youll get something different than the bag you normaly make, but it wont be someone else's bag.

and it sucks, but i think the best way to work is to show the list, to be 100 % sure the bag will get through. unless 100% of ppl joining are honest and are gonna make a bag

if its 100% safe, don't show the list (id prefer the 2nd option)

One more question about how this works. If you are in do you have to have the bag stitched before the 21st or how would that work?

I'm interested in doing this, but I don't know if anybody here would really want one of my bags. And also, I was wondering if it has to be a 32 panel bag. I can make them, I'm just not confident enough in my ability at this point in time since it's a new kind of bag to me. I think I'm better at making 12s, 14s, and 26s.

By the way, is this date set in stone already, and am I too late to participate?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot... AYE.

Brad : It doesnt matter if you have stitched it before, after or on the date. However in order to build the suspense a little, it would be good if you could send one that has not been posted in a picture online anywhere. Ive added you to the list, just let me know if you've changed your mind

Magus86 : With the utmost respect, if you dont feel confident that your bag would be up to scratch, then it would be best to wait until next time. When you are knocking out top-notch bags though, then personally, i wouldnt grumble at recieving a 14 or a 26.

Im got a little much going on atm with school and my band. But Ill keep on eye on if you guys are gonna do this again. Filling orders just makes me want to trade.
But this totally reminds me of something I thought of before where I wanted a bag with the first 11 pents stitched by my favorite stitchers and then Id close it up. It would mostly be a keepsake for me!

what the hell, count me in too. my stitching time is occupied with worlds right now, but when i'm drawn i promise to make a bag and mail it expediently. i've done lots of trades with other stitchers on this site, never had a single problem. i think footbaggers are inherently honest

I"m guessing you mean dental floss as opposed to embroidery floss, as I've heard of dental floss being used before, and most people would just consider embroidery floss "thread," but why do you use dental floss, if you don't mind me asking? Personally, I use 100% nylon upholstery thread, and I double it up. It's strong as shit and probably doesn't need to be doubled, but it's easier to tie off a knot with two strands, and I figure it'll withstand more that way.

People use dental floss because it is waxed, so you can melt the tips down instead of knotting.

Yeah, dental floss is super strong; I've busted quite a few seams even with doubled thread, but the bags have made with floss are still holding strong. But in my opinion, braided fishing line is the way to go

trust me, you dont need to double, i use upholtery too, but i dont double it. thats one of the reasos why my bags are butter

You can do that with nylon thread too. I'm not sure how expensive dental floss is or how long it lasts, but the nylon thread I use is like 2 bucks a roll, and it lasts me forever.
