Thanks again for the invite, thanks to it going to worlds is firmly set in my mind! It's gonna be awesome. I hope we'll be there in time to catch some shows, too.
Yesterday I had a great session, in which I hit dlo bsos. My flip dlo is not very aesthetic yet, but considering how it moved from non-existent to pretty consistent in two sessions, I'm very happy. I also hit a perfect paradon in that string.
Slowing down before setting is going great, but some tricks are harder to slow down than others, mainly clipper tricks. Jorden's general advice was to see the bag come to a complete stop before setting up again, which right now takes like half a second, but I'm sure that with time I'll be able to see it happening much quicker and I won't have to slow down as much anymore.

Man, imagine if we could see Propaghandi again. That was a lucky stroke!
Warped is on around the time we are there, but it doesn't quite link up. I think the show near SF is on the 12th, and there's one in San Diego on the 10th I think. However, I think the 10th is the latest I will fly out.
I'm sure we'll be able to get to something...maybe some Bay Area Thrash...

I'm not going to worlds, and that saddens me
I'm not even going to Euros. I really wanted to see Jorden and Clavens make swooshing sounds with their dexes, and all the other great NA American players, but it's gonna be financially and time-offy an impossibility.
This Friday I played outside in the afternoon at about 32 Celsius in the shade. 2 hours, but admittedly not too hardcore, mostly hack and short short runs, with 30 minutes at the end of actual shred, which went great.
Today I've had another great session, I've been learning double switch over fairly well and hit it bsos today, and my consistency in general is like never before, but there's still lots of work to do.
A very helpful advice Jorden gave me is "practice your weaknesses". It's easy to fall back and hit safe stuff in practice, but I'm trying save that for hack circles and think of my weak spots to work on instead, and that has been going very well.
I'm watching office space, a movie that is like a chill pill to me. Lately my office is resembling that movie, which is a bad sign. I better ask for a raise.

I really like this picture: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak- ... 9178_n.jpg
Kudos to Francisca!
I'll be sure to get some footage of perhaps the first shred ever in Uruguay later this year

A great weekend of footbag for myself; 4 sessions! Used to be the average, now a rarity. 2 solo sessions, 1 session with the kids from Raanana and 1 with the hackers of Rishon.
All of the sessions went great, in Raanana I played below average because the lighting was shitty, but I try to see it as a learning tool.
I feel like it's time to start learning a new holistic concept. I kind of neglected the "play relaxed" and "play in rhythm" concepts and I'm going to try to see how I can incorporate these concepts in my game. I know it really helps when I pull it off.

If I were to go to worlds..
If I were to go to worlds this year, I'd pay the best player I can find to give me an hour or two of private tutoring, perhaps on a daily basis if they're not opposed. That would probably be the best way to spend my time there.

After a week of not playing due to a mix of events and sickness, we've had a big session on Friday with 4 pairs of lavers and 12 pairs of normal shoes.
Surprisingly the session went great, but in retrospect it's probably due to me knocking it down a notch due to lack of training.
Today I got to perform footbag for about 20 ppl at the gym, it started weak and then got really good. Everyone clapped, I bowed.
I usually work on several concepts in a solo session. Today I decided to decrease the amount of concepts per session, count the amount of attempts I do per concept so I won't get distracted and move to another concept too soon. I did about 70 attempts of flip spinning clipper, most of them a hit, about 10 perfect.
I hit flip spinning clipper x2, which felt good.
Then I moved on to drifter. Did about 40 attempts, most unsuccessful, none perfect. I wouldn't be able to hit drifter->drifter or even drifter->ducking clipper with how I'm getting them at the moment. My worst single dex concept.
How many attempts do you do per session on a concept you're working on? I'm not sure if 70 is a lot or not even close.

Still working on spins and drifters.
Strong spin is getting a lot better, and flip spin is improving, too. I hit spinning cliper->ducking clipper x2 and gyro mirage that felt really good.
Drifter is starting to be less of a strain, both sides, but I still drop it pretty often, usually on bad sets (either too high or too close to body). I seem to need a pretty specific set to get it right.
Another combo I was happy with was ripwalk->pdx mirage->magellan->dlo->dimwalk.
What I'm especially happy about is that I can probably hit it flip side, too.

Thanks! If I didn't miss this year, I could use my memories of how it was at each worlds to track my progress, which would've been great. Now I'm gonna have a year gap :S
I feel like I've progressed a lot since worlds, mainly in terms of string length, but not nearly as much as I hoped/thought I would in term of big tricks. I suppose that's not surprising as I hardly work on them; I get a lot more props around here for long runs and "hacker" tricks as opposed to short runs with big tricks.

Today was a really great session. Drifters started to click. Strong drifter actually felt like a casual midstring trick, and flip drifter felt like a.. less of a strain. More hits than drops on both sides. I told myself I can probably hit drifter bsos and did, at the third try. Also, toe drifter turns out to be much easier than I remembered (sorry for saying otherwise on facebook, Ian!)
I also worked on spins, and kinda strained my neck a bit. Later I took a deep breath and told myself "I'm only gonna end the session when I hit spinning clipper x4", which I hit immediately after, first try! It took a second to register that I'm actually ending the session right there and then.
I'm planning to go shred by the beach tomorrow after work and then float on my back in the water and let it soak up all the goddamn heat from my massive 'fro. Then I'll sit on the sand with a beer and watch the sunset. That's exactly how I want this weekend to be greeted.
Have fun at worlds, worlds going people. Write about it and take photos!

Why can't you do it there? I'd think all you need is a large enough body of salt water and I think you got that covered!
Last night I had an outdoor session with a friend who's a long time hacker and a tiltless freestyler, Saturday night at the Tel Aviv promenade. Lots of people watched, a visiting freestyle soccer player and a bunch of soccer net players (forgot how the sport is called) joined in. Was a lot of fun. Footbag is so much fun lately. Maybe I'm getting vibes from USO and worlds!

A really nice session last night with Yuval, who appears to be the most serious about shred from all the Raanana kids.
I hit blurry whirl, assasin (pixie ducking mirage. first time!), blender, and footed Pdx drifter several times (a trick I've always been fond of). Will work on sealing it on upcoming sessions. Had some good guiltless runs, and hit several drifters mid-string. Still a flaky trick for me, but it's getting there.
Yuval has a good form on the tricks he knows (mirage, legover, butterfly, atw and a few others) but he rushed in learning them and his basics are lacking - he keeps dropping on the toe and clipper stalls. I told him he should work on that every session. He said he wants to start training regularly on his own. I hope he does. That's the only way to have fun in footbag.
