na, i never really remember good drills to hit. i always make things up during the session or during the run. i think i can hit that drill though. its not that hard.
i was pretty consistent today. the session felt good.
hit a few cool things:
whir > blurry whirl > repeat, 13 contacts
only 5 tomahawks. i'm kinda ashamed. i've hit 10-12 before.
only 9 spinning whirls. kinda sad.
hit a really nice super duper.
i hate pixies.
i've mostly been working on form, consistency, and endurance. i put down a bunch of those puzzle piece mats on my floor. they help my shins a bit, but 1 of the 12 is a different size... wtf? i want my money back.
i've also been icing my legs unconventionally. i fill up the bath tub and dump a bunch of ice trays in it. bam. don't have to hold it on my legs or anything. my shin splints are getting better it seems.
i have new lavers that i bought for myself around christmas. i haven't gotten around to modding them. i want to stitch a pattern on the side or dye them or something. i hate playing in new shoes, but my shoes are at least 2.5 years old... its probably time to switch them up. we'll see.
wow. i haven't posted on this in a while. reading over it was pretty hilarious. anyway, i'm pretty into the game right now. maybe its post worlds syndrome or post uso or both, but its a lot more fun now.
being bapped is much better than i expected. my confidence is much better now and its a huge part of the game, no doubt.
i've been shredding several times a week with ben and jeff. szymon, damian, and hania left town earlier this week. we only shredded once, but they're definitely some of my top favorite people to be around.
i've changed so much since i started this blog. its weird. i feel like my whole attitude has changed.
i'm pretty on top of my game right now. i think its because i had so much practice at the tournaments, but who knows.
this is a super random post, but hopefully it reflects my shred haha
i just demoted myself at work. the pay cut isn't bad at all, but they won't pay for school anymore. as long as i work there the next ten months or so i won't owe them any money for vacation or tuition. i'm excited about it because now my legs won't be so tired all the time. i can focus on schooling shred and not falling apart physically as much. full time unlv and work was too much last semester, i don't know how i managed to get good grades and a pay raise and still manage to keep my game at a decent level.
its really ironic that my first post in my footblog was about how i don't have any good friends in the footbag community because i feel so close with everyone right now. moreover, jay boychuk aimed me and mathieu gm facebook pm'd me as i was typing this. i was also texting kevin crowley earlier. jeff and i have been hanging out for a couple weeks straight now. its pretty rad. too bag jeff is going to reno and ben is moving to cali though. lame. no more vegas crew i guess... someone should move here.
okay, done rambling. hopefully i'll update this more now that i'm only part time. =DD
A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him toward the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and dunked him into the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until the boy started turning blue. Socrates pulled his head out of the water and the first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air. Socrates asked, 'What did you want the most when you were there?" The boy replied, "Air."
Socrates said, "That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it." There is no other secret.
A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results.[/code]
fairy mobius bsos today. i'm pretty stoked. never really been good at that trick
almost more stoked about fairy gyro switch
quantum drifter both sides
had a good blender run today. been working on them, esp flipside. i was doing pdx blender really weird on my flipside. figured out that i wasn't really doing a good circular whirl dex, but more of an up and down slam down blender, which was decent, but weird balance and inconsistent. i dropped the run on quantum blender.
of course i dropped on quantum blender; i've never hit that. haha why do i try stupid stuff like that? meh, i guess it tends to work out for me. i recall steve talking about progression being based on hard work ethic and having the balls to try stuff you shouldn't be able to hit. i guess that's a factor of why i'm decent. i think it has a terrible affect on my run length though. oh well.
i really want to hit gyro blender > gyro whirling swirl > rpt
also, i decided that my double downs suck today. then i did a run with scorpion's tail > scorpion's tail bsos and did a flurry out of it on one side. then i decided i'm not so bad at double downs. who woulda thunk
