I would'nt mind paying 15$ to have a good complex with bathrooms and controlled temperature.

15$ is'nt a fortune the way I see it

I agree with Tom on this one, little to no fees = win. I'm going to be back in Kingston on Sept. 3rd and will use all my power as a second year Queen's student to secure us a place to play for minimal to zero cost. With Greg's help of course! 8)

I don't mind paying 15$ too if the place is nice. Like a gym when good surface to play on, good lighting, shower, controlled tempareture, blah blah blah.

Dante should look with the univresity. I managed to have a beautiful gym for free a UQAM... But i know it might be harder at somew university.

Keep up the good work guys, i'm sure that a jam in Greg and Dante hands will be a good one ;).

Hey,

It's awesome that you guys are offering up crash space!

But if I did theoretically want to stay in a hotel/motel, which would be the closest and least expensive options? I'm still not sure which I'll do, but more info would be great!

Thanks in advance!

heya josh!

i have a friend who works at the super 8 motel just down the street from my place. i will look into what kind of deals i can get for the event & get back to you soon. i also have another friend whose parents own a motel, i might be able to get a deal there as well but you will need a car to stay there ( 10-15 min drive from venue ).

as for THE VENUE,

http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4 ... =513812522

hopefully that photo album is viewable here. i visited the ARC today & i think either of these rooms will be large enough to host the jam.

the studio space is nice, hardwood floors & windows ( only in one of the 4 studios ). the combatives rooms are larger than the studios & well ventilated, but no windows & the flooring is concrete underneath that combatives flooring ( which is too thick to play footbag on ).

i will lean towards the studio space, they are both equivalent cost.

i am meeting with my "artistic designer" :D tonight to make a new logo for the KFM & maybe some t-shirt & poster designs as well.

I can totally only come if I can curl up on a floor (more like sprawl, actually), and if I can score a ride with someone driving. I really have zero money, though I would love to come.

erik, jay posted this in the facebook event:

"Hey party people.

How is everyone getting there? I'll be leaving with my automobile as early as I can Friday (3:00 if I recall correctly) from Hamilton, and plan on staying until Sunday night. I've got a seat booked for Johnny, and I could take one more... Ideally from the range of Hamilton through Kingston, e.g. Toront...o...But, if say, everyone is all going at the same time by train/bus, imagine how cool it'd be to have a truckload of footbaggers, before sweat, all together in a cramped area?

?

-Jay"

& we can definitely have a sprawling point lined up for you )

As far as i know, only Nick and james are driving there with their girlfriends.

On my side im going by bus. 40$ for the whole trip, not bad.... Megabus.com

I think Ianek might go too, but i don't know if he is driving or going by bus. Bus is a cheap and safe option....

Sprawl space available at my place! 8) we have 2 couches and an extra futon I believe but it's my housemates... but he also plays footbag a bit so he'll definitely lend it out!

Greg, where's the studio? That's great that you found that place. Do we still need to look in to the ARC?

GOD get me to Kingston already! I get there Friday at 2:30pm and am counting the minutes..........

Those venues look SICK. I'm excited.

Thanks for the info on the hotel/motels. I'll look into them and update you further when I know more!

I already took the spot in Jay's car, but would gladly give it up if you need it Erik. I can afford the bus for sure.

Erik now has reserved space in my vehicle, so no worries.

I may have room for one more, but am not sure yet. Let me know if you would like me to make sure I have it for YOU.

I've just re-ratified the Queen's Footbag Club with the university. I've sent a few emails about getting space in the ARC for free. Greg and I will meet up to take a real look at that studio and get it booked!

Kingston is only a 3.5 hour drive from me... all this time. Might be able to make it out for this one, depending on how things go with moving into my new place.

Google maps says its a 6 hour drive, which is doable. I'll have to check some stuff out, but I could make it.

Just realized this is a 6.5 hour drive for me, way less than I thought.

Maybe.

I hope you guys make the drive up here! Kickass is gonna be awesome, I'm pretty sure it's 'homecoming' at Queen's that weekend so there will be TONS of people in Kingston!

Greg and I met up at the ARC and have found room for Kickass 3. The room is on the smaller side, with at room for at least 4 circles. The floor is grippy and there's even a built-in sound system! I'm going to book this room and hope I can get some funding for it from Queen's... now that we're an official club :P
