I had a dream that I was in this new class. It was called "Footbag 101". Everyone was studying footbag tricks at one point during class, then I stood up and yelled, "Anyone tying to shred?!" And everyone stood up and we had a massive shred circle in the room... and then I think someone turned into a rabbit and then there was some haunted dracula mansion.. It was the best dream I've ever had.

Rieferman wrote:on your weakside, weird stuff is still acceptable to practice for these two weeks. in fact, I'd encourage it because that's what makes your game so awesome, but the learning gap from your weakside to strong side is becoming the grand canyon quickly.

also, you seem to have forgotten drifter and DLO. I see some whirl in your highlights, that's good. spins. weakside weakside weakside.

on basics, your legovers are nonexistant. illusions are not there either. your in-out dexes come easily (such as pickup) so you can lay off there a bit. pdx mirage should be in every run at this stage.
Now doing weakside weird shit. FLipside is already starting to feel stronger. I haven't forgotten about drifter DLO, I just couldn't hit it :P

Yesterday's session with Zach:

 Drifter
 getting better with ripwalk, I hit a couple of them
 DLO and footed flipside DLO
 really schooled my whirls
 schooled my spins and flip spins
 pdx mirages b2b
 spinning pdx mirage bsos
 zoid
 zoid> ducking toe
 zippers
 No clue what it's called, but that thing Jon Schneider does, sorta like toe stall> toe wrap> opp rake(?) bs
 session ended with another Reverse Ripstein

Taking a day to recover today... and do madds homeworkz

And Mark, that's too big of a bale for me, I can't hit that yet :P

Pdx mirage starts on clipper and ends on toe. It's therefore impossible to hit them "back to back."

With b2b pdx mirage, when I ended on toe, I set it from toe to my other clipper and took off from there. My bad. I guess that would be BSOS.

And thanks for clarifying me on the actual names

pdx mirage b2b  In the early days of my blog I wrote nearly the same thing, stuff like smear b2b. nonsense.

Props on revstein, thats tough. You should try rev swirling gyro stuff. Gyro rev swirling flapper would be money.

good shred.

Adam: Sweet stuff man! I love the weird realm of freestyle. Def love to shred with you sometime if I ever make it up to Maine or you make it down to PA. I'll definitely start reading your blog.

Kevin: Thanks for the props! And is gyro the reverse of spinning? I've tried reverse swirling spinning sets, but they're pretty difficult for me. I really wanna get my flip rev swirls and swirls caught up to my strongside. It'll happen.

Really couldn't freestyle too much today because I have an Organic Chemistry test tomorrow and i've been studying my little heady off... did however get to footbag with Zach and Jackson today for a bit...

 Dyno b2b

That's it... oh and I figured out how to use footbags, toothpicks, and pushpins as models for o-chem. Eff that thirty dollar model kit at the store, footbags work great!

I've been trying to work with reverse swirling sets, and I feel like they're almost there. Nothing to write home... blog about yet.

Zach's mad at me for doing homework and not being able to footbag. I'm mad at me for doing homework and not being able to footbag. I'm mad at footbag for being a footbag, making me think about footbag and not letting me footbag. The end.

Got to footbag with Zach for a little while today:

 really starting to school the living feces out of my flip flapper stalls, can already feel them getting stronger :) :) :)
 starting to be able to drop stuff on my flip flapper, like how I can on my strong flapper
 ducking flapper stall
 couple nice spinning ducking clippers
 couple nice DLO's
 footed butterfly swirling dragon
 SWIRLING (as opposed to my normal rev. swirling) dragon

I asked around earlier, but by any chance, is anyone going to be in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area tomorrow? I have an Ecology field trip all day and I'm gonna need a shred break. Let me know, ok? How bout now? OK? Now you tell me you'll be there? Tell me. Tell ME?!?

Had a nice trip yesterday. I really know now exactly what I want to do when I graduate. Something that has to do with wildlife science. Wildlife & Fisheries Service perhaps? Dunno yet, but I saw some of the pictures of people releasing, tagging and helping endangered animals, and I could absolutely see myself in those pictures, replacing those other people. Really cool feeling, very enlightening. On the trip, I also bought a desktop zen garden that I've been meaning to one. I love it, it's so tranquil. I tried to do some busking with freestyle in WDC, but no takers, oh well, it was still fun to do... in pants, mind you.

Today, at the art gallery, where I work, I had a mini session. Big highlight:

 DLO BSOS

I can feel myself getting way better with them. My legs actually know what to do and how high to dex.

Later, Zach and Chris came down to freestyle with me... while I was still at work (I pretty much get paid to footbag/do homework/sit around... it rules):

 some great-feeling strings with spinning ducking
 spinning toe> DLO

Chris is finally hitting ATW and almost hit mirage. I love when new people get into footbag :)

Just had a STUPENDOUS session with a very intoxicated Jackson Raap haha

It was such a GREAT session!!! Well, for me at least, Jackson wasn't in his sober state of mind so I think his best string was (and he called it before he did it):

 Clipper> toe> drop

... SIIIIIICKKKKKK

My session was filled with firsts!!!!

I hit my:
 First Hopover> xbd rake!
 Third spinning swirl ever!! (they're coming more easily now!)
 First Atomic Toe!!! (never was able to hit Atomic anything!... still needs lots of work)
 First Vortex!!! (my other one wasn't actually Vortex, I think it was gyro dada curve, but I'm certain this one was Vortex!!!)
 First Gyro DLO!!!!
 First knee stall mirage (not super stoked on that, but it'll be a cool trick to fit in with my other weird stuff)
 First dragon> near mirage
 Fifth blur

Things I need to keep schooling:

 FLIPSIDE SPINNING
 Flipside xbd sole
 Flipside spinning ducking
 Flipside flying kicks
 Flipside swirls
 Flipside reverse swirls
 Whirls (both sides)

Keep up the good work, Nick! Alright, Nick! Thanks For the encouragement! No problem! Now stop talking to yourself, you sound crazy! Look who's talking! I'd punch you right in the mouth-hole if you weren't so damn cute. Oh, you <3

I finished a fuckton of work tonight. Completed 3 essays, started a speech, studied my ass off, studied my ass off some more, read some pre-labs, read a 40 page article for Environmental Problem Solving, where my Professor makes us print all 40-some pages out.... if you ask me, she's the Environmental problem!

Anyway, so yeah I did some hard work tonight and thought I deserved some footbag. Had an hour long session on my balcony. And apparently, being a good student helps with footbag!

 worked on flipside spinning, feeling and looking better
 REALLY NAILING FLIPSIDE FLAPPER STALLS NOW! I can hold the bag on my flipside flapper for at least 30 seconds! I also did another drill that consisted of inside kick> flapper stall> freeze> set> catch> rpt both sides
 nailed a few strong side dustpans that felt and looked really nice. Still gotta work on those flipside, haven't quite figured em out.

But quite frankly, my flip flappers are flippin fantastic!

As of a little while ago... it looks like I'm going to be going to Penn State Main Campus next year. It's really bittersweet for me. Being that far away from everyone I've come to know so well. Especially Zach. I really feel bad about it. But it's college and you gotta do what you gotta do if you want the job you're trying to get. I really feel shitty about leaving Zach though, the kid's become like a brother to me. I wish I could stay here and graduate with a Wildlife & Fisheries major, but they don't offer it at Berks. I'm kind of depressed about this whole thing. Later.

I have been delaying going to bed because of footbag. Been drilling in my room for about an hour. Sweetness came out of it though...

 I hit my first FLIPSIDE SWIRLS!!! (3 of them were sealed with a hand catch, 3 of them were footed or hit with no seal)

My basic swirls hit list is now:

(Strongest to weakest): Strongside Reverse Swirls, Strongside Swirls, Weakside Reverse Swirls, and now Flipside Swirls. Big swirling/rev. swirling tricks, here I come.

Life is swirly... and I'm sweaty. Good night bitches.
