Juggling
I encourage everybody to pick up juggling. To impress the average person with juggling takes far less work.(not that that is a good reason) I am currently working on getting the cascade and reverse cascade (3 ball) solid. This means 50 plus contacts and it is only my second day and I am by no means a natural. If you enjoy playing in public I highly recommend picking up this skill. Juggling gos hand and foot with footbag and when you transition smoothly between the two it is awesome. I am in the process of getting 3 inch 162 grams balls!

Worlds
I hate to say I told you so...but if you guys had money on who would be in the finals I got every pick correct. (with the exception of the ninth guy...bevier)

Outlook
Is it natural to absolutely hate your game? Every session I am just so pissed off. My game is so repetitive. Here are the moves that i use (clipper, osis, sole stall, flapper, fairy osis, spinning clipper, spinning osis, pendulous sets in to all of those with the exception of fairy osis, pendulous rake, pendulous whirling ss rake, mirage, inspinning clipper, pendulous inspinning clipper, gyro clipper, gyro osis, and frigid osis) I can do far more moves than the ones listed I just dont. I dont even utilize (butterflies, whirls, swirls, pickups, blenders, dynos, torques) Also I have been close to pendulous double blender for a long time. I am very one sided in my strings although I can hit "a lot" of my moves flipside. I have the most pathetic flip toe game(by that I mean i would not bet my life on hit any move with my flip toe involved) After the fall winter spring layoff my pendulous ducking is shit. Also some of the moves that I said I use are kind of awkward. Inspinning clipper is not natural at all. Flip pendulous is the same.

Interesting session today. I didnt hit anythimg new but I had a few highlights. (later i did)
 spinning flapper first try
 25 or so pendulous calf stalls

30 minutes into the session an old man takes a seat on a bench 20 yards away. He seemed somewhat interested but not impressed. At this time I was practicing zipwalks (xbd toe stepping down zipper) I wasnt really getting them.(but i have hit a few before) He proceeds to walk over after about 15 minutes of watching and reading some book.
"Are ypu trying to be the town jester?"
"No sir I just enjoy playing"
"You know that move is impossible"
I proceed to hit
zipwalk> swixie flapper> ducking clipper> spinning clipper
He says "what do you know about that"
I just walked away after that! Usually I get nervous and dont play well but that was really fun! However it was really hot and humid gotta play later or earlier not in the middle of the day.

'Ello Modifriends

After some thought I think I am going to start taking this sport a bit more seriously. I played everyday in August-- Awesome. But I want to play more like a lot. I dont want a predetermined time but I should be playing more a lot more. None of this 60-80 minutes of freestyle and then screwing around hitting huge tricks in my room. Which brings me to my next point.
After two consecutive days of playing really well I think I can be really good at this sport. How good? I dont know. But I feel like I just ended a chapter of my footbag career. I hit two big moves for me (pendulous torque* and pendulous double blender among others) Now I have my sights on other big moves I am close to. But they are really hard! I'll get 'em though. (swixie stepping far blender and pendulous triple blender) I really need to school and clean up my blenders. (they are some times not caught in a xbd position)
I have also been working on my string length. Ken Somolinos is going to be in my state soon and if I play with him or John Goode I dont want to be embarrassed. I guess I just need to be confident and hit hard shit. swixie far legover> open down zipper> swixie near flapper> near butter> inspinning zipper.
I have started playing to music. I enjoy playing to music I see in videos. "Black & White" "Tik Tok" "Banquet" "Assessment"
This summer could have been awesome for footbag. I could have played with Mikko Lepisto and Juho Marjo. OMG! As well as some NYFA guys. Juho Mikko Mikko Juho! Fuck! I mean they basically rang my doorbell but I said I was eating dinner. WTF was i thinking. "We are playing on Saturday at 2." I said "I cant."!!!!!!!!!I could have been there nothing should have come before that. Jon Schneider says "I cant play this weekend but next" Nothing happens. What! That guy is disgusting and he invites me to play! Jay Boychuk open room. Nope. Ken Somolinos. TBD
I got all new footbag equipment which is pretty awesome. Finally the lavers are broken in. New dorshbags and shorts. I need new headphones though.
Also I NEED to go to NYFA stuff. I mean some of those guys are pretty good. Oh yeah I need a camera. It would sweet if Jere mailed me his. Hell, maybe I should go to radioshack or best buy and play in there.
I deleted the survey that was above. Everything changed I think and I wont update the list in the first post. It is just too hard I hit so many new moves.
Leave some comments if you read.
The end
*it was set from a right food pendulous i spun to my left and dexed with te left leg in to out continued the spin and did an osis so i ended up facing the same way as i started but i still think its pendulous torque idk

Is there any way to search or find videos of a certain player? I cant really find videos of certain players or any people that I intend to. (mikko, jorden, juho, moran) Browsing through some of their modified "topics started" and going to those topics it seems as if some of the videos were taken off youtube and .org. If you have any working links please put them here. (I have seen all the videos that you would if you would type in their name...with the exceptions of Laura Lepisto's :( )

Edit: I have seen the ones on fourkast, by Jay, by matt cross, reindeeer games and that one with Juho sawing word or something but please post more if you know of them

Here are some of my favorite moves that I have hit and really want to improve. They are all really inconsistent but look awesome. They are probably my three favorite moves.
-Vortex
-Arcwalk
-Spender (i think this is what I hit clip>backspin>op in same osis) or something like that

And I cant wait to hit these two
Mobius
Double Spinning Clipper

The other day I hit double spinning toe stall which was pretty awesome. I really need to drill the basics though 'cause that would help A LOT. One week of only hitting mirages, butters, drifters, pickups, illusions, ducking clippers, legovers, etc would be so boring but so worth it.

Sounds like some sweet stuff, dude. And when you say spender, it sounds like you're trying to describe spinning osis. Spender as a dex in it.

We should definitely try to kick soon. I'm not going to be available the next couple weekends, but after that I will probably be good

If I finish most of my school junk this week, and I don't have much to do homework/project/report-wise this weekend, then I'd be interested in meeting up with you somewhere on either Saturday or Sunday. Lemme know how your shred-ule is for this weekend. I really think if you and I had a session together, we'd both really benefit a lot from it. Now that I read more from your blog, I realize we're hitting some of the same weird stuff, we're working on some of the same tricks (double spinning clipper... I, too, can only hit it with a toe stall), and the best part, I have a good handful of weird tricks I could teach you that it doesn't look like you can hit yet, and you seem to have a good handful of tricks that I can't hit yet. We really need to sesh. So yeah, please get back to me when you can. Peace man.

It was probably the longest stretch in 4 or so months without a session idk but I hurt my back then made it worst trying really really really really hard move in sucks on a hardwood floor. The socks didnt even make it easier.

8O :) :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D 8O :) :D :D

Can you tell I am excited? After about 100000 tries, switching shoes, watching videos and it hitting my fucking calf every single time I was able to fluke moby dick (mobius screw). I fell sooooo many times but i do not care at all. Besides from my sickness and now very bruised elbows this has been a great day. (If only I could string)

I feel like in two months I should be able to knock down this "n00b barrier." Typical noob--one sided with big tricks and short strings aka me. That has to change. For me once I hit this combo I will consider myself not a n00b
ripwalk> blizzard> dimwalk> sidewalk> ducking butterfly rpt
I say in 2-3 months I should have that done.

I still like trying huge tricks though but I need to get more consistent at them. Today I was also able to hit pendulous double dyno twice. Some other highlights were ducking sole> frigid> arctic legover> small spinning run. Oh and I hit blizzard, vortex, pendulous diving osis, pendulous ducking osis. All of those are not that consistent so I was happy about hitting them.

Osis is by far my favorite move family thing if you cant tell.
arcwalk (close enough)
mobius
pendulous double dyno
moby dick
pendulous div/duck osis
All such awesome moves. I am pretty sure I have really good crank, but I just get lazy and put my foot out there sometimes. :( For spinning osis I am so lazy. :(
Torques-- Uhm, those need improvement. Mine do not look like Olaf's! But he does look like his 7'4" My torques are not nearly as good as they should be and one problem is that they hit my shorts a lot. I was able to hit them like 30% when I was really bad so I thought for a "big" move like that it was good. GOTTA DRILL TORQUE MOVES
I should be able to hit pendulous moby dick bs and flip moby dick in the next uhh 2 weeks. For some reason it is not that bad on my flip.
Spinning-- Had some really good dbl spins today...no seal...slightly off balance. :(
Ducking &Co. with the exception of real basic moves
Unusual stuff (soles, weird sets, uns) :)
Symposium-- To be honest, I dont think I have hit a symposium move yet. I have hit quite a few rooted stuff but yeah...
Whirl and Swirl-- No(atleast not midstring), Yes
Rakes-- Not that good at 'em.
Basic Tilt & BOPS

Not a bad assessment of my game

edit: I need to get a camera that works with my computer. You would think a digital camera bought in '07 would work with a 2010 computer...nope...or a 2007 laptop! Wtf?

I have been really inconsistent recently because of inconsistent session (nothing for 4 days then 5hrs for 1 day) I am close to double spinning clipper :) When I hit it it will be midstring because for some reason I get closer that way :?

Lately I have been thinking about my future and here is my dream scenario.

I arrive on a college campus in September with a few bags and footbags in hand and go straight to my dorm and get everything straightened out. (roomate classes books) Then I find a nice spot to play inside and out. This mysterious college has a strong scene nearby perhaps Chicago, Seattle, Boston, NYC idk. I am still unsure where I am going but I looked at a few of those. I get a lot better a footbag during my first year of college. I am hitting combos like superfly> flurricane> trixie> terraging ducking butter rpt as a warmup. I have control over spins, ducks, all sets, symp and can hit midstring 9s with confidence. When May rolls around I have released numerous videos showcasing my mastery in this sport and my name is right up there with Clavens, Honza, Milan, and Damian but I also have a 4.0 at some good college. My Finnish dean suggests I study abroad I am so flattered that I immediately say "YES!" There are a few choices for where I can study. (Australia, Poland, Czech, England, NZ, and Finland) Obviously I choose Finland. The program is all of July and August. As I am picking of things for my trip I grab a few lottery tickets and I get lucky. When I arrive in Finland all the Finns know who I am and are amazed but my ability to hit moby dick> arch nemesis rpt on command with style. Luckily Worlds are being held in Helsinki and everyone from Moir to Moran make the trip. There are massive parties everyday at my pad that I purchased with my lottery winnings. Most good players get so drunk that they dont feel like competing in circle and it is just me, jorden, juho, and moran. Naturally I start but I go on a 70 contact run but I use every componet in the book and some tricks that have never been seen. The other three go on a tear and we are all even. My second run is absurd. I start with symposium swirl> symposium whirr> blurry whirr>double ducking butter> triple spinning osis> 50 contacts of good stuff> railing double spinning ducking butterfly. Those who are not hungover and in the circle ponder suicide. The entire competive atmosphere is taken out of the competition and I win. After worlds and my exchange student program are over I continue to live in Helsinki. I work for fun during the day but there is no pressure to do work cause I have 100 mil in the bank. I spend thousands traveling with my finnish wife to seattle, prague, warsaw, and wroclaw every week and have the best life ever.
I hope that happens. A week till I play with nick polini though should be cool. He will probably have a camera so thatll be good.
