I have to bang a paper out for a class early in the afternoon on the 17th. I'll see if I can submit it a class day earlier. I also have a Classics exam in the evening of the 21st.
I'll try to request some weekdays off around this event so that I can enjoy Chicago while I'm there. I'm not sure how my work schedule will be like in the month of December, but I'm sure I can make it to NYJ this year without any trouble. It's just a matter of how many days I can stay is the issue right now.
I'm about 76% confirmed.

I've been working on a venue for a 3rd day. The hotel offered me a (different) room for the price we usually have every year, but I went to see it and it is ridiculously tiny. and the usual room is very expensive unless you are there in person the day of. So for the 18-19, we have the day spot, and we're going to have to book the night spot when we get there if we can, which is the way we do it every year. Maybe we can get Friday night and Monday (20th) too.
Just want you all to know that we have confirmed space to play footbag for the 18th and 19th only right now.
In order to have a confirmed spot for the 20th, I've contacted a few places that are close to the Hyatt, so that we can kick and see some of Chicago. If I don't get a good price on any of those, at the very least we can have a tour of Chicago on the 20th. Thoughts?
I'll update next week.

We already emailed asked the director about carpet, but replies are really slow. Scott mentioned it costs thousands of dollars for union guys to throw it down, and these guys are cutting costs every year... so idk.peter pan wrote:Any idea what the play surface at the event will be like this year?

The paper is a minor issue. It's the Classics final that I'm worrying about now.
My manager gave me the go-ahead to take some days off during my requested days. I'm definitely banking on staying in Chicago during the 17th toward the 20, but if I can extend it to the 21st that would be awesome.

I'll make it better tonight, I did this with the new movie software I just got, I didn't review it until after I published, so I'll poke at it again tonight.
(I'm not sure if the embed code below will show the movie here, but I'm pasting it in anyway):

Watch this updated video promo of the upcoming 2010 NYJ!

I managed to better frame the tricks, and while it has marginally less footage of Clavens, I have to point out that for this kind of dynamic presentation, his style is perfect for these '.9 second' clips. I'm not sure what it is, but I think it is the crispness with which he does his tricks, and of course the linking. Kind of like a modern day Andy Linder. So out of convenience, and because of his style, I used a lot of Clavens footage in this video.
Holly, if you like the video, feel free to link to it on your '1st Post' if you want.
See ya!

Yep. The software didn't flag me that I had already used that clip, and I didn't notice the duplication on review, nice catch.
I'm gonna stick with this version of it for now, I have pulled the old version off of youtube, so the link from the first movie post probably doesn't work anymore.
