Made a very last minute decision to go kick with NYFA today. After roughly 19 minutes of train delays, I still made it to Washington Square Park before people started kicking.
I think I was trying for real strings a lot, but I was also trying some other stuff. There were one or two nice strings throughout the whole day, but I was also cursed with a cap of 14 contacts for a while. I hit two double spinning clippers, whirlwind, jani, a mobius, almost inspinning clipper > mobius, and just more stuff like that lol. I was pretty counterproductive at points, but it was still cool to meet David Castillo, who was in the area for work I believe.
Hmmm.
Footbag....
Yeah....
Oh yeah, in what was probably my longest string of the day, I threw down a flipside spinning whirl like 15 or 16 contacts deep into the string. It felt so legit because I don't think I've ever done a 5 that deep before, but alas, I dropped the sauce.
Yeah bye lol

Kicked today. Worked on swirls, rev swirls, and symp whirls again. Also got 26 contacts of duck spin rpt. It's at least better than last time.
2 new tricks:
- fairy gyro mirage
- flip inspinning clipper (finally lol)
And of course I decided to wash my sheets today, and they were taken from the dryer. I'd love to think that it was a mistake, but really, how do you mess that up? Gr.

Thanks dude!
So I think the solo session I just had was a way for my legs to tell me to practice more. It wasn't in the sense that the session was bad, but in the sense that it was really good, and if I kick more, every session can be like that. We'll see, legs, we'll see.
Highlights:
- ripwalk x18
- pdx dlo and pdx drifter both bsos
- fog bs (flip is new)
- pdx blender bs (flip is new)
- pixie whirl bsos
- janiwalker bs again

Mini session in the confined space of my dorm room. What was to be me simply trying to hit a few ripsteins out of boredom turned into something much greater. After being told by one of my roommates that my foot look slower when trying ripstein, I sped it up in order to hit a couple cooler ones. The slow ones I did hit were just awkward in retrospect. I then began to try to hit some flipside ones. While that was ultimately a no go, I got way closer than I expected.
From there I was like, "let's try some twirls cause I'm a n00b and have never hit it." After footing it like every time each side, frustrating the frustration, I nailed one on my strong side. A few tries later yielded the flip one. I turned to my roommates and was like, "hey, check out this new trick." Hit it first try strongside. I then proceeded to hit it first try flipside. Chyeah.
Then, I started trying some straight up downtime symposium whirls cause I remember some people being cool and doing them at worlds and such. After getting the set right and after many tries, I sauced it.
Then, I went back and did a bunch of tries and sauced twirl.
Then, I decided to try my hand at saucing pdx blender.
Summary Highlights:
- Downtime symp whirl bsos (new trick)
- Twirl bsos (new trick)
- Pdx blender bsos
I love when spontaneous stuff like this happens.

Kicked with Drew on Wednesday, but I didn't play well lol. Oh well.
Had a super drilling session today. Most of these numbers are probably much lower than they should be, but alas, this was all I could do today. It shows I really need to have like 70 more of these sessions.
Highlights:
- Alternating clipper x 90
- butterfly > pdx mirage x 62 contacts
- butterfly > blur x 23 contacts
- dimwalk > pdx mirage x 21 contacts.
Further practice must be had

Had a session tonight with Drew, and while he actually hit some cool stuff for the camera, I played pretty horridly lol. Oh well, at least after the camera was off, I hit far double pickup first try. Then after a few tries threw down a scorpion's tail on one side. Then my next turn, hit spender first try and passed. Next turn, whirlwind first try and pass. But, I wanted strings regardless. At least the place we played was much much much better than the lounge that I normally play in.
I guess ultimately I was just trying too hard. I wanted to hit denser strings, and as a result, dropped around 10 contacts a lot, even though I was having some epic strings going. There was one string that started with fs toe blur, then had a blurry whirl like 2 contacts later, and was shaping up to be so cool. But, I dropped lol. Oh well, back to the drilling board.
