I should do homework right now, but only after I inform of this:
Today, something amazing happened. My friend, Evan, who has been wanting to get Lavers and hit the next step of "hacky sack" bought a 32 panel bag from Z. Hoffa today through me and I let him borrow my old Lavers til he gets his own pair next week. He really took to it, hitting toe stalls consecutively and also BSOS ATW's. He said he really loves it and wants to keep practicing and stick with it. So cool to see. (Evan: Mark 1)
Another kid, Stefan, walked up to us and asked if he could play. He hopped in and immediately I knew he was going to take up freestyle. He was already doing legovers, clipper kicks, spinning kicks, etc... I was able to teach him (all in 4 hours) clipper stall bs, mirage bs, clipper ducking toe, clipper spinning toe, footed butterfly bs, and he even ducked one spin! He said he was so happy we ran into him because he really loves "hacky sack" but has wanted to find the next level, and he hasn't been able to find anyone to hack with on campus. He wouldn't stop ranting about how much he loves it. I let him borrow a footbag and I told him I'd stitch him one soon. I'm taking Evan and Stefan to go Laver shopping next week
Also, the kid lives ACROSS THE SRTEET FROM ME!!! Go figure. (Stefan: Mark 2)
BEST PART IS:
Stefan says that he's got a group of hackers at Kutztown (15 mins from my college) and 3 or more of them are looking into stepping to the next level too. One kid is even better than Stefan...
(Stefan's friends: Possibly Marks 3 - 5)
Aside from that, played in pants all day, soooo:
ducking ss clipper & diving ss clipper feels better
hit some sweet ripwalks that felt very proper

ripwalks eh? did you finish your stepping ss clipper homework? or are you cheating!?!? you dirty rotten no good piece of...
heh heh
edit: I also notice that you have not posted the one shot challenges that we recorded... weak.. you gotta post the crappy ones if you want to feel honorable about posting the good ones. (although that's not what most people do, we should follow the virtuous path!!)

I'm still working with stepping clippers. I can hit them in pants now
But I plan on still doing them mainly, I just wanted to taste the sweet peach of ripwalk for a minute. It was delicious. But I will definitely keep doing stepping clippers, Sensei. HOI!
As for video: I've had no time!!!! I'll try to get to it ASAP though. I need to get my external hard drive working before I put any more junk on my laptop. It's reached carrying capacity :\
Coming home tomorrow, so we should kick this weekend if you're up for it.
Oh cool story. I ran into Stefan today when I was walking to my car from class, and said said hey and talked about footbag for a bit and plans to do it this coming week and also plans to go get him Lavers. Awesome part was, he pulled out the footbag I let him borrow from his left pocket. I pulled mine out from my left pocket too. We laughed and said we have the coolest things in our pockets out of everyone on this entire campus haha

ha ha, ok, just checking that you weren't cheating the plan. you'll thank me later if you listen now. young grasshoppa.
just teasing about the vid.. it's easy to de-prioritize posting a one-shot if that one-shot is a one-shit. but, you gotta take your medicine and post the crappy ones along with the good ones. it's the honor system.
btw, I hate you for hating symple swirls.. yeah, my eyes are all over this forum, I see your secret little posts. punk.
shredding in the barn with brian at 2 p.m. on sunday, come kick

Lol, that's the fun of it!
So yesterday, Luis (little 13 year old Brazillian kid, who started playing footbag with Jackson and I) surprised the hell out of me. He's actually getting so good, very quickly. He's FREESTYLING now instead of just doing toe stalls and atws. His strings all consist of toe bs, mirage bs, outside stall> spinning toe, sole> rake (on occasion), atw bs and pixie toe bs. His pixies are awesome and he wanted to try a pixie ducking because he saw me trying them (I finally hit pixie ducking clipper yesterday!!!) but I said maybe later on because he wasn't ready for them. He proved me wrong and came about a centimeter away from ducking his pixie!
clipper> ducking clipper NEW RECORD! 12!!
flipside dimwalk
PIXIE DUCKING CLIPPER!
This morning I was heading to work and drove by him footbagging in the street at the buttcrack of dawn! He was looking really smooth for someone who's been kicking for about a month. I saw him almost foot DATW! and after work, he came over and tried a few more datw's (which is not even funny how close he's getting!) and he hit legover bs on call! This kid's gonna go far and he's fucking addicted. It's so sweet.

Session with the new guys and Zach...

These kids are so awesome to kick with. They're both learning so fast. Stefan is to the right, I'm in the middle, and Andrew is to the left. Stefan just got those Lavers tonight... FOR $11 BUCKS!!!! What a steal!!! Both of them are definitely shred-heads now. Stefan's got a long hacky sack background and has Atws bs, mirages bs, clipper bs, legovers bs, sole stalls, ducking, and spinning, and is transitioning very well. Andrew has Atws bs, squeezes, clipper bs, and a really interesting early stepping set.
Both kids are like sponges. They want to come to a jam as soon as possible and we're going to try to figure out how to get ourselves to NYJ
As for me:
I think, or at least hope, it's safe for me to say that I have Revstein. I hit 3 clean ones sealed with hand catches at the end of my session. And footed about 1/2 a dozen more. YETHHHHHHHHH
stepping xbd rake

Stefan and I kicked for a little bit today. I can see, day by day, he's improving so much, and day by day, he's loving it so much more. He hit atw> mirage> drop on legover today with such flow and ease. The craziest part of tonight... Stefan was asking to see some different 3 adds, so I hit swirl for him. He tried it and footed it 3rd try!!! And then try after try after that were also footed! I swear this kid is gonna get good. He's a great mimic, reminds me of Vasek during his younger years
I didn't really shred too much, but when I did I hit:
PHOENIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stepping ducking (drop)!!!!!
Awesome improvements for me.
Stefan and I have a saying that we show eachother "mutual thanksisms" I thank him for letting me teach him and he thanks me for me teaching him. It's a beautiful cycle, especially when your student is tearing it up day after day after day!
Session with Bob and Zach tomorrow night. Oh and awesome news... As of now, unless something shitty happens, I'M GOING TO NEW YEARS JAM!!!! Hopefully with Zach and Nick Pasquarello. It's so cool being a teacher. That's one of my favorite parts about footbag... sharing the love of the sport with new players and showing them how welcoming and fun our community and sport can be

haha you had me there for a second. Just keep at it dude, you'll hit it eventually. It starts to feel easier and easier once you keep practicing your stepping sets.
A wise man once told me, "Stop trying ripwalks, you dipshit, just practice stepping clipper on both sides" (Or something along those lines) ~Bob R.
I have him to thank for a lot of my capabilities in footbag. He's helped me with so much. But Ian, take that advice, stop doing ripwalks for a while, and just practice non-stop stepping clipper. I can't tell you how much that has helped me with stepping sets.
Session with that wise man and Zach tonight. Hopefully going to try out my new sole mod tonight.... maybe now... yeah, now.

Bob, Zach, and I had an amazing session last night. Literally the best I've ever played in front of anyone. It was also the longest strings I've ever hit in one night. Bob killed it more than I've ever seen before. He was hitting super dense and long strings. Zach was on fire. He had some strings that were so ridiculous that I almost had an aneurism at a few points in the night.
My highlights were:
As the song "1901" by Phoenix was playing on the radio, I hit a clean Phoenix just at the end of the song. That was cool
My sole mod is actually pretty sweet. I need to do more work on it, but it helped me hit a bunch of sole tricks I've only hit with bare feet, or hit but struggled with while wearing shoes like Sole> swirling xbd sole and lots of xbd sole> ducking sole, clipper> ducking opp xbd sole, spinning xbd sole, stepping sole, down sole etc...
hit some pdx drifters, some pdx dlo's, calf rolls, weak whirls, lots of stepping, stepping rake, some good pixies, etc... long strings, longer than I've hit before.. and the most long strings I've hit in one session.
I pet Bob's kitty after the session! We had a great time outside. Talking about how he was a kitty, how he likes being a kitty, how the kitty gets cold sometimes when Bob leaves him outside, discussing who the good kitty was and exchanging kitty thoughts about kitties. His kitty is awesome. I like kitties.
My highlights were:

Awesome duo session with Zach tonight.
Flip spinning clipper is finally eligible for me to call on in midstring
Reverse swirl> stepping (catch) (I feel like I can get it to a ripwalk)
Couple of clean torques
Pixie clipper> ripwalk
And a few of my dream links I've FINALLY hit:
Ripwalk> Ripwalk!!!! And stepping is relatively new to me.
Drifter> Drifter!!! (Hit x2 throughout the session) Always wanted to hit this link
Shitting my pants just thinking about NYJ. My college's finals start tomorrow!!!!! :O I should be ok though, since I've been studying for weeks.
I have 3 small scratches on my hand. I think there's a little chipmunk in my room, but Zach says I have ringworm... I know it's just a chipmunk.
