Recently, due to a few irregular motivations, I have decided to more or less forgo the consistency idea for long runs, and just drill single tricks. Things like mobius, blurry drifter, and some double dex type tricks mostly. Some of the things I'd like to be able to, without a doubt, do in a routine, for example. The difference between hitting a trick 10/10 times, and doing it in a routine, for me is surprisingly staggering.
So yeah, training with the idea of "I need to get good at -these- elements, and these elements of my game only" with vigor and piss in your veins is nice. Just the "if I don't hit x amount of blurry drifter->ripwalk*rpts I'll smack a cheese bagel on the floor" attitude, is kind of nice once in a while. Because once you hit all those cheese bagel blurry drifters, you can feel nice about the fact that you are neglecting, say, double downs.
Oh neglect, you sloppy drunk you. I think that is one of the largest issues with my game, is the inevitable fact that you can't really get better overall, you have to just creep along getting really good at one thing, letting it slide a bit, and then going for something else.
Thankfully, when some random guys at the gym ask me to do something cool I like popping out a ps whirl or two, and knowing I can at least still do them.
But yeah, inventing tricks / learning rare ones is fun. Over the last week, I think I've done at least 10 different ones, including a few new sets. I just video-recorded one new one tonight, not quite as pronounced as I'd like, but hey a toe->toe four dex invention might not have the first of three uptime dexes quite as deep as wanted. I've had a couple good looks at five dexes, which, would be obbbsceeenely hard to get all clean. Thankfully, at the attempts I've looked at, it isn't always one dex that is 'the', usually just one somewhere in the middle

I feel like adding another switch on the trick I got tonight would be certainly possible for a very legit five dex. Wouldn't it be cool to invent a 41 add trick one day, with no xdex.
Sauna life is a good life. I uploaded a few pictures of it on facebook, and the finns seemed to appreciate it, which is nice. Here is a shot of it, with my calf.
Building a sauna was totally worth it. I mean, it was either that, or move to Finland and say good bye to two years education tuition.
I realized today that open near double down is kind of hard. So, I got open near double down->stepping near mirage*rpt, which took some cleavering. By cleavering, I mean, just imagine him stepping out of that trick, and making yourself do it. Unlike, parkwalk, or whatever open near down is, for this I found I had to hop during the open set a wee little bit in order to really get the strong clipper position to step out of. My calves liked this drill, since they were sore from a lot of triple dexes yesterday, and I just felt like a monster pushing through the double downs.
I'd like to hit my first 8 add soon. That is a milestone, that I feel annoyed at that I can't hit. Originally my plan was to just get good at a downtime 5 add, and toss something in front of it, but now I see some potential with just a few more mirages and a few more flails just to get all the adds in there. I suppose this is making Anssi cry, but, I'd still like to say I've hit an 8 add before the system just really takes a shit in the corner.
I hope to have a nice video of myself before Christmas. I haven't had any real hd footage of me since like, last-last april when Flavio had that video made of me. Something that'd be worth putting on fourkast would be nice.
Oh... General inquiry for anyone who feels like answering it. Would anyone be interested in paying a little too much for a tshirt? I have some random ideas, but in such limited quantities, I imagine the shirts would cost a wee bit too much. All the drawing would be sort of that "vector" style, like on
http://theoatmeal.com/
Shirt idea #1.) Juho + unicorn on a shirt, somehow.
2.) A shirt that has two rocks and one bird, with text "Johnny Suderman can kill two rocks with one bird", or something to that effect.
3.) A shirt with Tom Mosher, or Anssi Sundberg's face just right at the side, near the hip.
Anssi would be wearing aviators, or Mosher with a blue jay's hat.
4.) A giant footbag, so, a panel being about 30 cm x 30 cm, just covering the front panel of the shirt. White shirt, black outline, or something. So, from 5 meters away you could tell it was a footbag, but up close it'd just be some lines.
5.) Think the "hackrifice '-05" shirt, the bloody one Macro wears, except a little different. It'd be more like a calvin / hobbes rain style drawing
(last panel) with two or three footbags, and a little fluid underneath them or something, and lit as if they were under a street light.
I have more ideas, but whatever, just an interest to see if anyone wouldn't mind spending $20+ on a shirt or something with me.
Enjoy kicking fellows.
