So I had another sick session with Tyler tonight after my mass of homework was finished. Tyler hit some cool new things like infinity x4. Props dude.
I had a really sweet session. I think I hit my first 6 add?? It's the video below, so if you know what this is, please let me know.
Pdx Torque bs (first time on flip sealed with a hand catch)
Flipside Ripstein was on my foot for a SPLIT second
Rev-Up bsos
Pdx Dlo on strong, and footed on weakside
Smooth Blenders bs
Ghost bs
many Gyro mirage bs
Dragonstein, just because they're really fun
handful of Mobii -tried weakside, but they're not quite there yet
Motion!!!!
All together, great session, lots of fun teaching and learning from Tyler. Now ve go out vith di room bates and potty! Hoppy potty!
Edit: Also, please try to hep Tyler with his Mystery trick. We didn't get it on tape, but he footed a very weird 4 add that I have no idea what to call. He described it in his blog.

Looks awesome nick. In my opinion, don't worry about the adds on tricks other than for training purposes (e.g. "how many guiltless can I do?" etc.). I know it's enticing to "hit big tricks" but really, adds don't = difficulty in all cases, so just go for stuff that looks cool and you'll be set.
(which, before you reply saying "yeah, that's what I do", I'll say it for you.. I know that's pretty much how you play anyway, so good job young grasshoppa)
Anyways, for that trick I believe the cheater jobs notation is:
Clip > same out to in (DEX) > same out to in (DEX) > osis (BOD, XBD, DEL)
so you have it right at 5 adds from what I can tell.
You could try locomotion if you wanted to. That's a 6 add. Same trick, but you start with a stepping set.
Let's play soon. This weekend is out for me because of kitchen rennovation, but I'll be playing next week. My neck is un-tweaked now too so I can go full effort. Maybe wednesday night?

Hey thanks Bob! Yeah, I'd love to shred soon. Some pretty sweet news for next weekend actually... Drew Krause wants to shred! He'll be home that weekend, and he said he's down. Been really busy with school lately, so I've just been taking like an hour to shred every night at the campus gym. I can try to come down on week days sometimes, but it's just tough, because normally after I shred, I study my brains out
Rick Reese suggested I try Locomotion too, so I'm gonna experiment with that soon. Hope to shred soon man.

Yo, note to all who read this, buy the book The Hot Zone and read that shit. This book is so sick. It's about the Ebola virus and how it makes you puke up blood, shit out your stomach lining, and bleed out of literally every orifice of your body. To keep from throwing up, every few pages you have to shut the book for 10 seconds. It's a fucking gnarly read.
Anyway, now for some footbag. Jackson and I had a nice session today. He is seriously flowing! His shred looks awesome lately.
Hits:
Motion (again! it feels really natural and is something I can whip out in midstring)
Stepping Ducking Osis!
Hopover Swirl bs
Blizzard bs
Barrage bsos
Ripwalk> Ripstein
Swirl> Ripwalk> Swirl
Blender bs (feeling very natural now)
Dragonstein (fun!)
ALMOST hit Spike Hammer! I Stepped, I ducked, I miraged, but I couldn't get that last toe stall!
Annnddd.... I think we're picking Corey up to session in a bit. So I'll blog again later probably.

So tonight I filmed my final submission for Shred Global's Event 3 competition... Flying-Ducking-Spinning
Here's a little taste for ya...

Apart from filming my submission, I had a session with Corey and Jackson tonight at Corey's new house. Real nice shred area in the garage. Can't wait til it gets warm out so we can all enjoy shredding under the sun again. I know we all miss it. Oh yeah, Corey hit his first legitimate Torque! Anyway, Highlights:
Needless to say, the biggest highlight of my night/year/life was my submission. I haven't been that stoked to hit something in a while
Smear> Fear> long-ish guiltless string
Mobius midstring!
Tha-tha tha-tha-tha that's all folks...

After I finished a heapload of homework for this week, there was an hour to spare before the gym closed down for the night. So, Tyler and I went down and kicked for a bit. Tyler's infinities are looking swell! And he almost footed whirl! His catching clipper could have been a centimeter more inward and he would have totally hit that shit. He'll get it. Oh and he hit another DLO. He's really showing improvements.
Hey!-Lights:
Clipper> ducking op clipper> spinning clipper> ripwalk> spinning clipper (I believe this is my first guiltless string with clipper spinning clipper bsos
) Not very long of a string, but it's showing improvement with my flip spinning.
I spent around half the session dialing my flip clipper spinning clippers, and they're feeling very fluent
FOOTED FLIPSIDE MOBIUS! I'm gonna get that bishes
Hey!-Lights:

nice stuff dude. you shouden't tell people your footing nice shit, just bust it then post video.
nah but seriously do what you want, but flip mob is nice.
Your at a really cool spot in footbag right now. you should marathon 100 of every basic 2 you can do and mix in a weird trick every 10 tricks or so some session just to build more consistency.
keep it up.

Happy BAGentine's day Session with Tyler in the gym. Tyler had his first semi-dull session tonight. He had some nice lenghty tiltless runs and hit pdx illusion for his first time. I told him not to fret about it, because that happens to everyone and you come back stronger the next session.
Highlights:

I ended up hitting 3 ripped warriors tonight and 2 Spike Hammers
Real nice string with spinning clipper bsos x2 (I hit clipper spinning clipper twice on flip and twice on strong in one run, I don't know if I used the correct notation with bsos x2)
I kept my flipside in mind and I tried some stepping ducking stuff from flip, but all I managed was flipside stepping ducking clipper, which is definitely progress.
It got pretty easy to duck my stepping sets on both sides now, ad without hurting my legs. I've hit stepping ducking toe before, but I stopped because it KILLED my shins. But I think I fixed that problem. Please feel free to critique my stepping ducking from the video above. I'd appreciate it. I'm really feeling better about my game lately.
Thanks for the props, Kevin. And I think I took your advice...7evinkogan wrote:nice stuff dude. you shouden't tell people your footing nice shit, just bust it then post video.

Hey Nathan, yeah man, that day I shredded with you, Brill, and Toolan, your words "You've got good legs for stepping" (or something like that) really pushed me to get my stepping down pat. I've found that little sayings like that from players that I look up to really put a fire under my ass and push me to get better. So, thanks for that meaningful quote and that encouraged me to keep practicing my stepping sets. Words can go a long way sometimes.

What a beautiful day to go outside... and hit my first 6 add!
Blurry Torque!

This one's for Mark Monistere and Kevin Hogan.
Other highlights:
Atom Smashers!!!! Dedicated to Zach Hoffa and Nick Pasquarello. Thanks for the inspiration, guys.
zooming mobius
run with bsos barrage, bsos butterfly, and bsos flapper (I bsos'd a couple of runs with barrages)
Another 5 to add to the recently growing list... Stepping Ducking ss Flapper stall!
spinning bsos x2 bsos, ripwalk bsos, ducking clipper bsos x 2 in a run
Kevin Hogan suggested that I shred tiltless and after every 10 contacts, I add a [uns] trick or a weird trick in. I really enjoyed this. low impact, fun shred. I call it my "Weirdo Drill"
That's it! Pretty hyped I hit my first 6 add!
Oh and check this out:

This is what happens when I go home to visit my parents. My dad is like an 18 year old in a 50 year old's body. If you like it, spread the video around to your friends. My dad and I are thinking this might be a popular video on youtube and we've gotten a lot of positive responses so far.
