Next Wave of Superstars

I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions regarding who might be the next up and coming superstar in footbag. Maybe someone who, up to this point, hasn't really placed high in tournaments but who people think may have the talent to become a great player in the future.

Most sports try to promote their up and coming superstars. Just wondering what the footbag community thought.

Actually, Zeb, that's just the kind of player I'm talking about. Someone who, just a few years ago, was considered good and ready to take the next step. Someone who the community might see and say has a lot of raw talent and the drive necessary to succeed at that highest level but needs time to develop. Obviously, Milan is already in that elite group. But a few years ago he was being talked about a a guy with a lot of talent and he rose quickly to the top.

I remember seeing an interview with, I think, Tony Hawk who was talking about a 9 year old kid who was one of the best skaters he'd seen for being so young. He was talking about Shaun White who went on to be a good skateboarder and the premier snowboarder in the world. The point being is that Shaun White showed exceptional talent at a young age and it was just a matter of time before he would develop into a world-class talent. People within skateboarding saw that and the expectation was that it was just a matter of time.

There are similar stories for athletes such as Tiger Woods and Lebron James. I just wondered which players, if any, people thought have skill set and the drive make it to that elite level.

I believe Poland and Finland will probably have players that suddenly come up to be very good. Ners's footblog shows it is probable they will have good players to come.

I feel like I will be held back by ankle crank or other body type limitations. Not sure where i will end up but i still play regularly.

Also i feel like Gatesman is getting super elite as we speak. He posted on facebook about he felt like a run was 100 contacts. His last video my Mathieu GM was insane. And his form is already good, so its just more tricks and consistency to come.

Byrin is already elite lol, I think he mostly stop playing too although im not sure, maybe talk to Regamy?

I think Milan might have lost some inspiration. Vasek pretty much stopped, David got second @ worlds and responding to a post by Milan, David wrote that he may not make it to worlds 2011 to compete against milan. Im not stalking these people either, i just sometimes pay attention? lol....

Nick landes is a beast.
Suderman is still a god. (and still plays i think)
Honza has gotten better and better too.
Same with Anssi

And if you consider those last 5 or so to already be elite.
Then the elite are getting elite - er..?

Under ideal circumstances, Jazzkid would have my vote.

I love the stuff he's hitting. Its just, he's married with kids, trying to make it as a musician, and he's down in New Orleans. Don't get me wrong, New Orleans is super-duper cool and we should all be going down there for shred jams, but, there really aren't many other shredder for him to riff off of there. I'm blown away by how good he's gotten in these circumstances.

I've got my eyes on Nick Polini (F[uns]tylin' Eclectic).

He's stupid-enthousiastic, and I think he's got a certain sort of physical ability that could take him far, but if it doesn't it'll be because he's putting alot of that enthousiasm into recruiting and teaching newbies.

brianbear has lots of potential and very cool styles to offer. I really dug playing with him at Worlds this year. Watching him do his thing standing right next to him was impressive.

Alright, so, maybe these guys won't be the next Vasek, Clavens, or Lon Smith, but they're some of the shredders that I'm excited to see improve and rise in the ranks and reach some nasty peaks of skills.

not suprised at most of the names in here.

my three:

1. that kid who posts as empty. I think he's been only playing for a little more then a year but he hits hard shit with good style.

2. John Goode- if he played more he would/will be great. good style and form on pretty much everything. Shows that the way you hit tricks is just as important as the tricks you hit.

3. Tristan Delany. Sort of a long shot but he's got good crank and is pretty talented. if he trained properly he'd be better then most people pretty quickly.

watch the 3rd vid! Get to this level in 3 years?? Absolutely crazy. This guy just knocks in like 2 times a year and blows my mind.
There was also a czech kid at the french footbag open with the age 14, who did a great routine including stuff like ps whirl bs. Never heard about him before, but he reminded me to Vasek... looked like a similar story begun.
