I believe you're talking about "Bent Butterfly" - that's the trick Ners is doing. It's different than my trick. In Bent Butterfly the dex is performed like Reverse Illusion (in front of you) while in my move it's performed on a side like in a Whirl. I have no idea who is Dan Fearey and what was hese move, though .
looks just like that bent thing that Jay boychuk is great at, i dont see the whirling there, i think it order for the whirling to be evident you would have to completely clear the butterfly, then do the whirl
Maybe the dex is done a bit more on the side, but i really feel it's pretty much a bent down... I feel it's just a slightly diffrent way to do it no?!?
I've experimented with the trick you're doing, and it is cool. I've gotten furious same side, and a bunch of other things.
When Felix does "bent downs", it also looks much more like this whirl style, versus how Ianek does Bent downs, for example. Such a fine line though.
In "badassery" I also do this component as a set. Since then, I've ducked it, among putting other dexes in front. It is a really underused idea... I would love to see some of your ridiculous sets into it.
I did this back in 04 or 05 a little, Ricky Moran expanded on it alot we called it breeze when it ended in the whirl version and blunder when it's the blender but I think bent caught on as the name. You can do theis as a set as well but it's hard to hit clean. If you add a gyro at the end it is easier to clean. Here is a list of moves I have seen him hit using this concept.
Bent opposit whirl, bent opposite dbl down, bent whirr, bent dbl blender, bent whirling swirl, bent gyro whirl, plus any single dex set he could do into both bent whirl and bent blender.
It's all about pivoting and closing your hips at the right time to get the dexes clean and seperated. I say go to town with these, they are my personal favorite tricks and are also pretty easy. I want to see more.
Just hit bent blender ending in bottom of the foot and bent whirr. both barefoot. This stuff is a breeze people, please start doing it more. I would love to see some good players go off with this stuff. Why doesn't anyone do these tricks? I've been asking this question for 5 years. Who cares if it's 1 dex or 2, if it's a whirl dex or not. The tricks are dope either way. Same with stepping ss illusion set.
it is a dex but it is with a bent knee and the the bag is dexed at the ankle.
so in a butterfly traditionally the bag goes under the leg/knee..."threading" the bag through that space. in bent the bag does not go "through" at all, but the bent leg still dexes the bag "under" the leg at the ankle.
