well, i'm off kicking for awhile longer. each night is spent fixing my kitchen. it'll be beautiful when I'm done, and I'll have gained back the 10 pounds I lost. Just gotta roll with the punches sometimes.
edit: nice way to start a new page. And in other news, I'm actually hanging a ceiling fan tonight. So beware Ken, beware.

thanks scott
there's a toe kick all the way around to make it appear as though the island is floating (and, more functionally, to make it so that you can stand right up to it without bumping your feet). also, the opposite side has three shelves, and the top one has electrical outlets (wired through the floor into junction box in the basement) so the wife can plug in her laptop or mixer or whatever.

As for handyman skills... youngin's... the reason you should work hard in school and get really rich, is so that you're not forced to have to build everything yourself in order to have nice things. I'm exhausted for the last 10 years straight.

I had to fix the flapper recently too.
Finished the kitchen this weekend. I can barely move right now. The counter top installers still have to come (I hired out counter tops, and vinyl installation, did everything else myself) and then I install the backsplash, but for all intents and purposes, I'm done. Shred shred shred this week, who's in?

haven't been playing at all. Just too much responsibility right now. Between overseeing the yard overhaul (and I mean overhaul... 10 triaxels worth of fill, removal of 3 enormous trees, total drainage solution installation), doing the entire kitchen gut/redo myself, building furniture for the kitchen, finishing the woodshop setup for real furniture making, and (you know) keeping a corporate job to support our single-income family and raising that family... Well, something has to give, and footbag has been "something".
The good news is that as of this weekend, the kitchen will be finished, and as of the following weekend the woodshop will be finished. The yard is out of my hands in terms of work being performed, and I can act as a foreman in my sleep at this point. And spring is nearly here.
Next week, I am shredding every day. Mostly solo I think as my guys are all too busy these days. It happens.
The following week, I'm in Colorado for business (sorry C-Fan, can't visit with you this time), and when I return I get to go to Nick and Zach's footbag jam. I hope to exercise each day while on business, but we'll see.
