I'm a little embarrassed to admit how much I like "So You Think You Can Dance.". We went through five seasons minus the fourth one in a shockingly fast time, and it definitely made me miss footbag a little more. It also solidified my belief that footbag = dance, it's all the same minus the bag. I remember in some post in the General section that someone mentioned that it wasn't a sport, it was a dance. I can't find it now but I'll make my comment here: Dance = Sport.
This month was that magical time of year when on a bi-weekly pay, I got paid 3 times this month. It's like a semi-annual bonus, I love it when it happens. I ended up spending most of it on a beast of a computer so I can finally use all these plugins I got for my music software. I had been in a bit of a rut and kind of out of the music-thing for a few weeks, but I totally made a sick beat Saturday which brought back all my inspiration. My studio is shaping up nicely, in fact the whole house is. After the marriage we'll finally have a regular, grown-up persons house.
It's weird to think that a lot of people I know and myself included are finally leaving the "college life" and are gradually settling in to our proper adult lives. (I can't figure out the grammar for that sentence so fuck you too). James with a kid, Gauthier with a kid, etc. It's exciting though, a lot of people complain about getting older but I actually look forward to my thirties. It's a few years away but it's coming. Things are just improving day after day and as long as we keep all our ducks in a row, they'll be easy to shoot!
P.S: I love porn, can't stop watching it. The sites are better now then they've ever been, it's remarkable how well organized they are and also how much pickier I've gotten.

hahaha thanks guys!
I might be down to shred with you on Tuesday, just call me Monday to confirm.
I had my first day out on thursday. It was JUST nice enough to bust out the short shorts and a long sleeve shirt. I played (or struggled I should say) for a good half hour before calling it in. Felt AMAZING. Haven't had a session for months on end.
Just don't know how I'm going to make time for footbag when there are so many other things I enjoy doing as well. And a baby soon
I'll never not kick, that is certain, it is deeply ingrained in my soul and it pleases me so. Just that feeling you have, that equilibrium with the bag and your legs.
Peace out homies! We'll get some shred going soon biatches

So I got someone fired from my job a couple days ago, a first for me... It's a bittersweet feeling; sometimes, someone's gotta go, but it's never pleasant to fuck with someone's financial situation....
Anyways....
Spring is here!!!
I'm excited as excited can be, snow is melting, skirts and legs are coming out, and soon the footbag will be weather ready, or something like that. I've noticed while air-shredding that I actually bend my flip leg more then I used to, and I think that due to some walks up hills I've been doing my left quad has gotten stronger. I'm super excited for this, as all the problems with my game stem down to not bending my left leg enough when it's the support leg. If I can somehow use my period of inactivity to re-build proper muscle memory on my flipside, wow: World watch out I'm just gonna murder it when I get back into the game, I can feel it!
I'm so frustrated at not being able to do boxing classes ahhhhhh my stupid shifts at work rotate all the time, I have nothing stable, especially right now. I feel like it's going to be a fun adventure for me, and I've never worked my upper body before so it's gonna be great to have a well rounded exercise regime going on. Bailey has been a trooper and has been getting up at 6am every day for the past couple weeks going jogging. I'm supposed to jog with her but my willpower is weak in the morning... gotta focus!

Hi Blog,
How have you been? It's been a while! Yeah things are OK with me, finally put up the post for the Montreal Wedding Bash, you can and should check it out right here: http://modified.in/footbag/viewtopic.php?t=22285
What's that? You'd rather I narrate instead of talking directly to you? Weirdo. Fine.
The weather is getting warmer and warmer and I'm ready to kick. As soon as the rain decides to give us a little break I'll be out there taking names and dexing them, a return to my footbag roots! Lots of things have been in limbo, including music and programming, while the wedding gets itself sorted out. It's like a hydra, everytime you slice the head off of one annoying task, two other smaller, but equally annoying tasks will pop out. Still, it's worth it
Wish I had more to write but work and wedding are consuming my life at this point.
Keep on kickin modified.

WHUT UP FOOOOOOOOOOOS!
I've played 3 times in the last week. It feels great and my timing seems to be there, so I imagine I'll be back to the peak of my game (and pushing it) in a week or two if I keep playing frequently. But I must remember not to pressure myself and just go with the awesomeness that is actually shredding.
YAY FOOTBAG! She is always there for me.
Nick you and I are going to have some sessions, like say once a week MINIMUM. Got it?
And any other Montrealers who want to do a two man gimme a shout (looking at you Mr. Monpetit), I'm game!
Life's great.
Peace!

Nice Mathieu!
JAMES! We were supposed to kick this weekend but I made like corn and flaked... sorry!
8 weeks until the wedding. Money low, morale high, stress high as a kite. Can't seem to focus on anything at the moment. Taxes also decided to kick our ass this year, thanks Quebec.
EDIT: 2 grand bonus from work today, booyah! Take THAT Quebec... oh, I guess you will

Played footbag yesterday!
It felt great to stretch, kick, and move around after such a long period of inactivity. I ended up playing by the canal next to my place, which is cool because it's next to the dragon boat club. Not because I like dragon boats, but because there's lots of athletic chicks in skimpy wetsuits. In fact, there weren't any boats, just dragons and damsels in distress...
I'm an attractive guy, so it gets annoying when playing footbag because people bump into me all the time while I play. WTF is up with people invading your personal bubble-space when you kick?? I've never figured this out over the years. If I was walking down a sidewalk and I saw some half-naked sweaty dude having a seizure and flailing his legs about, I would switch sidewalks. People seem to have no qualm with shoulder-bumping you as if you don't exist. It's the bane of my footbag existence - that, and having people want to kick with me.
Anyway, I played for about an hour and 15 minutes or so, most of it just warm up stuff. 100 clippers one side, 100 the next, infinity till I get too tired and drop, etc. I'm focusing on getting my left quad a little stronger so that I can bend my leg properly, which should help me fix a bunch of flip-clip stuff, like steps. What was nice was that although it was obviously a rust session, I didn't have a lot of frustration associated with it, because I won the mental game of knowing that this was just a tune-up. I have a few more weeks of tune-up sessions before I should start hitting nice stuff again, and I'm looking forward to playing a little more.
I have 2 months to get into somewhat reasonable shape for my wedding so I'm planning on kicking a lot on my own to work my cardio. Next session either tonight or tomorrow, not sure.
Feels good to post on topic in my own blog.

I had someone call me at work yesterday and their name was "Chip Cannon". Best. Name. Ever.
Snuck in another session yesterday with former roommate Alex-Andre. It was a beautiful day, it's like summer came early after the shitty rainy spring that we've had so far. We kicked for about an hour, and it's the first time I kick with someone else in a long time! My form and tricks were all off, but I still had a blast even if I didn't hit anything notable. Alex played well, I had forgotten that he had gotten good, he's got a unique variety of tricks that makes him fun to watch.
Game programming is ticking along, my little asteroids clone is starting to shape up nicely. I got the ship movement down pretty well, it rotates and moves around all proper. It's a fun project to be working on, I really enjoy programming, once you know what you're doing it's so creative and the sky is the limit.
But most importantly of all, wedding bells soon.... I had never really believed in marriage until I met Bailey and then it all made sense to me. I used to think "well what would change? what's the point?". Frankly, it's a great excuse to have everyone you know and love all come together for an amazing day where you can celebrate how awesome your relationship is. What's NOT to like about that? And then there's the honeymoon, and then there's income tax breaks, it's win win everywhere!

I'm glad you're kicking again these day man! Keep it up so we can have some epic session when i come back in september

I've discovered that I don't think footbag looks cool anymore.
I'm not sure what's triggered this, I guess it was just a gradual thing. Videos seem to blur together in a mindless leg-fling-fest, and I get now why people just don't get into it. If you ARE into it, the technical details are neat, and the infinite variations are just epic. Those infinite variations though are just so minor that it doesn't make enough of an impact to actually count as a "variation" to an onlooker.
I don't even think it's anything that can be fixed, it just is what it is. People like it or don't, and on average the majority won't.
Fuck 'em all though it still feels good to play.
