Other Footbag News

I'm washing my Nucleus now because they smell like death, plus that gives me a reason to not play for a day or two and let my legs heal.

I shredded with Nick Pasquarello, Corey, and Jackson this weekend, which was cool. Zach was supposed to come down last night and kick, but he plans with a babe. We're going to kick sometime this week.

Hopefully I'll be hearing back from this lady, who's organizing this big Easter fest, about whether or not our footbag jam can be a part of it. So fingers crossed, home slices.

And Kevin and Mark, don't worry, I've really been focusing on my basics lately, despite all of the bigger things.

Anyway, Jackson has gotten so much better. He's hitting a lot of pixie stuff, and he's actually recently hit Pig Beater :O I told him to chill with his basics too.

Nick's definitely gotten better, even though he hasn't had much time to shred. He's got a tight looking barfly and double switchover and other double dexes. He hit Pogo Blizzard last night!

Corey got sick with pixies on both sides. He needs to stop doing toe bails though! He also footed Barroque last night!

I'm so stoked to see that everyone is improving. It's so cool to see, especially since all of these guys were/are my students :D

I love footbag. I've never found something I've cared about so much about and pushed myself so hard with.

Peacin the eff out yo. Lator.

Other Footbag News

 The PA jam is ON! Our spot was approved and we're going to have it after all. Hopefully the turn out is nice.

 Jon Schneider is THE MAN. I asked him for some old fottage of him when he was at the peak of his game and he coughed up some amazing stuff that I've never seen.

Outsider 1 (Clips are all throughout)

Outsider 2

Das about it.

Spring break is officially OVER for me tomorrow and I start back to the chaotic craziness of calculus and chemistry contusions in my cortex called "college".

Oh yeah I dug a big hole today in my backyard, helping my dad with our father-son project of turning our backyard into a zen garden/Koi pond. BUUUUTTT we dug too far down, hit a natural spring of some sort, annnnddddd now we're waiting to see if we've fucked ourselves on this one or not. Looking forward to not hopefully seeing the backyard flooded tomorrow.

Peace bishes.[/b]

I've been in a "wow-life-is-insane-what-the-hell-am-i-doing-here-am-i-even-real?" type of mood recently until tonight. I shredded with Zach tonight for the first time in a while. Good to see him again. He's improved a lot. So today we finally solidified the deal with the Park and Recs lady and we have an amazing spot for our PA Jam! Check this piece out!:

Image

WOOOO!!!! HOLY CRAP, RIGHT?! Electric outlets for a boom-box, plenty of benches, restrooms, water fountain, and the biggest highlight... 700+ PEOPLE WILL BE AT THIS THING!!!

Please try to make it out to this, it's going to be a good time.

Anyway, shred was awesome tonight with Zach. He and I both had some sick links.

Highlights:

 Fairy Front Sole
 Riptide (Stepping op Butterfly Swirl) (without a hand catch)
 Spinning Anchor
 Flapper> Blender bs
 Drifter> Vortex
 Highlight of the night: Flapper> Stepping op Butterfly (Ripwalk starting on flapper) (Video coming soon)

I'm so glad to be out of my footbag/life funk. I have only Zach to thank for it.

So today, I worked for 5 hours at the Art Gallery... I can't do a lot of my homework there because that's the only spot on campus that doesn't get wifi and most of my homework is online... fucking future. So to keep my ADHD at equilibrium, I played footbag!.. In pants... and I ripped a hole in my boxers equivalent to the width of my torso. Fun stuff! But I had a really good drill/session! Lots of new junk!

Highlights:

 Blender> Zooming op Clipper bs
 Osis> Dragon bs
 I opened up a new door today, thanks to a challenge from Corey Rich (Footbagger007). I was asking him about some of his recent tricks because they are so odd (frootie, hyper, railing, roxie, etc.. this kid is seriously one of the most creative footbag players I've met) and he challenged me to hit something rooted, so I experimented with Hyper (aka Rooted Pixie) sets, and on my strong side, I have them down to a science after one session. This set feels very powerful for me. The following tricks in bold are all brand new tricks that I hit today and it would be great if someone could hook me up with street names to all/some of these (Thanks for the challenge, Corey!) :
 Hyper Ducking Clipper
 Hyper Flapper
 Hyper Mirage
 Hyper ss Legover
 Hyper Clipper
 Another new trick that I don't quite know what to call, but my amateur footbag knowledge tells me I hit Gyro Zipper bs. I'll get this one tape soon.
 Pendulous RTW Sole
 Lots of Sailing (Pixie Atomic) sets up to my waist! Couldn't hit anything from them though, will keep trying
 Flapper> Blender bs
 Blender> Pdx Mirage bs
 I don't think Blender can get a "symposium", so I guess I hit Symple Blender bs

So time to get some work done. MUHH.

I was expecting hyper far legover and maybe mirage! My jaw dropped so far. 8O 8O 8O Hyper ducking 8O Are you serious? That is so hard! Are you sure it is a rooted pixie?!?! That is retarded! Hyper flapper is crazy too and rooted magellan 8O If your hyper set was say right foot with the bag on it an on the ground, the left leg in air, and the you jump of right leg, dex, and land back on your right leg before landing on your left then Im the most impressed person ever! Props seriously!!! If you could make a video Id watch it so many times

Yeah man, that's it haha. I can't hit it flipside yet because my pixies on flip SUCK. But I'll make some video to show you. I'll have a Hyper session soon.

Side note: That Hyper ducking clipper was actually the first Hyper trick I hit and I didn't know I would get it that high :P

Thanks for the props man.

Quiet drill sesh in my room tonight since my room mates hate footbag sounds at 1 am. I also experimented a bit and hit some cool new crap:

 Flipside Front Sole! First time on flip! This has gotta mean that my flip crank is improving
 DOOF! I hit it 3 times! Mind you, it isn't a very nice trick for me to set out of or even link into. But I hit it finally! Maybe once my legs become more flexible, I'll be hitting this more often... NEVER TO THE EXTENT OF LANDES.
 Swirling Gyro Outside Stall! My first swirling gyro trick! I'm going to work on this to get it to clipper... and maybe to the freakish level of Monistere and hit swirling mobius (DOUBTFUL!)
 Tick-tock (Just had some fun with this one. Never hit it before tonight, but I plan on getting better at this and using it in my game. Dustpan> tick-tock would look ballin'.
 Swirl> Flapper> Rev. Swirl bs
 Knee bump> ducking osis> zooming clipper bs (really cool-looking!)
 Messed with Gyro Zipper some more and also gyro toe and hit a kinda cool link: Gyro toe> osis> zooming clipper

Fun Side Notes :D
1) Everyone in my apartment hates everyone else right now for a different reason. Hence, why I've been in my room playing footbag.
2) My Econ professor is from Taiwan and when he tells us that this or that company will buy or sell bonds... what actually comes out of his mouth is "da company buys or sells bongs". Oh, I do giggle so hard in that class.
3) I finger-painted with a hot girl today!
4) I hope I don't ever spontaneously combust, because that would hurt. It would only hurt for like split second, but that split second would SUCK. I don't even know if your mind would be quick enough to register that.. "oh shit, I'm blowing up!" *booom!* Would one even have enough time to think this? It's probably more along the lines of "Oh, Shit!" *boom!* or even with less time, "Shit!" *boom!*... food for thought.

G'night.

Did a little drilling in my room today after class. Progress with drilling today.. not too many new links/tricks, but definitely saw progress in my drills.

 Pendulous Blender
 Flapper kick> Rev Swirl bs
 flipside pixie ss osis first time :?
 Toe Torque bs (First time on flip!)
 Reaper! First time! (footed flip)
 Pdx Grifter! First time!
 Pdx Blender! First time! The bag was literally throbbing in my hand when I caught it! Edit: Well, not literally, obviously it was my hand that felt like it was throbbing, since I grabbed it so tightly :D
 Matador!

I'm going to end it on that. Wow, shit. That was cool. It started out pretty shitty, and ended real neat. Nick is stoked. Nick is homework now.

So this weekend sucked. I worked at Irish Joe's Cafe (place of work on weekends) this weekend and I passed the eff out in front of 30+ people. Everyone made a big scene out of it and it was kind of embarrassing. Apparently I'm somewhat of a hypochondriac and I've been hearing a lot of my friend having kidney stones and another friend having appendicitis. I had a slight pain in my stomach and convinced myself that I had appendicitis and my mind got the best of me and I panicked and passed out into a table of cups and smacking my head on the hard tile floor. I woke up with some stupid lady franticly calling the police. The paramedics showed up and took me in an ambulance to the hospital. The one guy tried to take my blood from my finger and yelled at me to stop moving my hand but I was still delirious and thought he said "move your hand!" so I shook it violently and he continued to yell at me.

Long story short, I have nothing seriously wrong with me but I need to see a cardiologist soon to try to get some medication for my problem.

Here's a picture of me taking a picture of me that my boss took in the ER:

Image

Anyway, footbag... I kicked a little with Jackson today, trying to film Sick 3's for the tournament. Only got our Sick 1's down. But also, some new tricks along with madd drilling of basics:

 Double Down
 Smog
 Torus into a guiltless string

Aside from that, pretty whack crap going on recently. I hope to kick with Bob and Zach sometime this week.

Oh and Tyler, my room mate who played footbag... he hates us all now, so much to the fact that he moved out and left his Lavers at our place. I felt bad, because it wasn't about me, it was just my room mates really were getting fed up with him. But whatever, I need to do Chemistry.

Hey thanks for the well-wishes. I'm pretty alright now, I've been trying to learn how to control my mind since the incident. It's hard. Meeting with a cardiologist next month. Good luck with your werewolves.
