Good tips thus far. Thanks dude. After doing a few of them, I'm kind of starting to feel them out. Still not too good at them yet, but even you told me swirling gyro toe is a start. I came pretty damn close to strong side Swirling Pandora's Box, too. I'll keep messing with this concept. I really like it. Feels so cool to set that swirl and then spin and know you're in control.

Looking forward to your next tips.

Props on the new highlights, especially Food bsos. I was talking to a friend about bsos'ing food one day and it's a dream for both of us. Ridiculous dude.

On another note, thanks a ton for those tips! Great job explaining it by picking my video apart and analyzing every nook and cranny of my form and execution. I realize exactly what you're talking about when you said that I didn't use my upper body in my flipside swirling spinning. Took a short break from these to film my Sick 3 & 1. Can't wait to see your's btw. Stoked to see what you came up with. Anyway, I really appreciate the tips. It's really awesome to be getting tips from a player I'm greatly inspired by and also to be working with the same concept (Swirling Spinning) as him, which not too many are using, it seems.

Also, do you think it helps to execute the swirl set as doing the initial swirl, then pointing your toe downward as you spin? I studied your swirling mobius screw video for a while and I noticed you tend to point the swirling toe downward and it looks like it helps you set and clear the bag. Also, do you think it's better to swirl and spin at the same time or swirl and wait a split second to start the spin?

It'd be so sick if you could miraculously show up to the PA Jam that Zach and I are planning April 15-17. Doesn't sound like you'd be able to though. I'd love to shred with you sometime in the future.

I'll fill you in on my progress with Swirling Spinning as I start to understand it more (hopefully). Keep killing it, dude.

thanks for the props.....I shouldnt have played though.....my right foot and toe and bruised and swollen ....oh well....Ill wait to heal. Food has been a goal of mine for a while....i didnt think that my flip would work at all, but hit it better on flip than ever before ...I was paying attention to what my upper body was doing and BAM it hit. Got like 4 or 5 on flip before I stopped.

Your welcome ...I am happy to help and will try as best as I can to give tips... Glad you are working the swirling spinning concept. As far as I know , there are not many players doing it. I think Penske hit swirling spinning far swirl ( imaging he could do more), Dave said hit he something but wasnt a bunch, I think Milan said he got a legover after the spin, Damien tried swirling vortex and got close , Matt Cross has hit more than a couple variations of swirling spinning including swirling mobius and he said Vasek also hit swirling mobius. I heard ( dont know for a fact) that Vasek also hit swirling spender. I dont doubt for a second that he coudlnt hit every variation that I have, but hope that there is a couple of tricks that he just didnt get to first
The players that I talked to said that they had tried it but couldnt get the set high enough to really get much out of it so they stopped working on the concept. Im pretty sure that getting a duck has only been done by me and Jay ( I hope more players will do it and swirling ducking barfly has been hit and I think thats probably harder....the spin helps me). Im expecting Jay to hit all kind of shit out of this.....in one session he tricks that I havent swirling gyro dlo and swirling gyro double pickup... His swirling tricks in Baddassery prove that he (if he wants to) could be the guy to hit swirling mobius>food repeat one day. I hope to be the first to link swirling mobius b2b but will see if that happens.

 as far as pointing my foot down I guess it just seems like the natural motion to help clear it , but mainly it help me turn . I will try to find footage of me when I first started doing it. Also I think that Im just trying to get my foot back down to the gound sometimes to get the other one up
 There is no delay between swirl and spin....the burst of the swirl and the push off of the support leg is what sends you up and turning in the air. DONT WAIT ! that burst is what helps turn you to clear the dex

I wish I could attend but probably not....we will figure how a way to get together one day.

Keep working this concept and you will hit all kinds of cool tricks.

On a side note....reverse swirling feels WAY more natural to me than a swirl ....double swirl (ripstein ) feels good though. and swirling spinning on my strong side feels real good......WORK BOTH SIDES even if they are different .... KEEP IT UP

the second video I ever posted of swirling spinning....there is mixed session footage.....blue shorts was first session and black was second just to try to hit swirling mobius and since I could get swirling gyro mirage I really wanted swirling mobius.....hit the swirling gyro mirage and after you just keep your momentum going and BAM you will get the torque

I enjoyed those videos a lot. It's cool to see where your swirling spinning magic started. I really love this concept. I just footed swirling gyro mirage. I'm going to give it another go now. I thought of something cool for you to hit:

Swirling Gyro Swirl

I guess that's what it would be (swirling set with right foot, half turn, swirl with left foot)

That would look wicked. You could also try it with a rev swirl instead of swirl at the end.

EDIT: Check my blog ;)

Word. Hope your foot heals soon. Looking forward to your next videos. I have a feeling you're going to be experimenting with a lot more swirling spinning concepts when you come back...

Way to mix it up Mark! I was a big fan of your spinning pdx miraging toe pound bsos That type of stuff is really cool to me because I think it adds so much style, rather than just strict shred. Twirl> ripwalk looks gnarly too, and I yelled "Ugh!" at my computer when I saw Food> P Torque. Nice stuff.

PS. Check yo' pm's
