John Goode Enjoying Nice Weather Blog
Hahaha thanks guys!
Nick, I always read your blog! I've been wanting to give you hardcore props on a lot of the stuff you've done lately, but I was going to wait till this weekend haha. It's going to be such a good time!
And I kicked again today. No traction. Not as fun lol. For some reason, I didn't have all that much energy. Twas weird.
Then, I ate a big piece of like chocolate fudge cake. Very, very, very, bad idea for stomach. Blehhhhh.
Must.

I don't know why, but I'm in a bloggin mood this week. Maybe it could be cause I'm actually kicking lol
On my way back from work before my session today, I realized I haven't just straight up drilled in a while. Like, I have, but I haven't. It's hard to explain. I needed to do it regardless.
Did many contacts of a bunch of basic drills. I wasn't even counting contacts, just letting it happen. That's weird for me lol. Also re-hit several basic guiltless drills and such. It all just felt nice and dandy. Ended on blurry drifter bs. Haven't hit strongside in a while lol, and flip is new.
I've also been working on keeping my core tight. My roommates and I have been doing the Insanity workout, and they stress a tight core so much. However, I have yet to bag and do insanity in the same day. Hard to find the time to do that, considering I had to practice for the Got Talent audition (I received word today that I advance to the final night lol).
Finished the night modding a pair of lavers I got two black fridayss ago. My roommates were watching Drew Carry's Improvaganza, Colbert Report, and Whose Line is it anyway. Laughing with an exacto knife in your hand isn't always the smartest idea

PA Jam was rocking. Despite rain, it was seriously rocking. So much fun.
I didn't play all that well though lol. And by that, I just mean my strings were all short. I feel like I'm hitting some better stuff, I guess, but it all really doesn't mean much if I can't keep it off the ground lol. I also really, really have to work on not expressing my negativity due to short strings lol. Although, when I curse after a medium length to "longer" string, it's just because it was going well and couldn't go further lol. But yeah, gotta work on circle demeanor.
Highlights:
- string with blurry whirl bsos, then went for ps whirl > spin clip > rpt, but dropped flip ps whirl
- toe double pickup bsos again
- in-merkon (new trick)
- string with symp rev swirl and far rev swirl both bsos
- couple other decent length strings
good times

Good stuff dude. Especially the in spinning legover and the swirl stuff.
As far as circle demeanor goes, I'm the charlie sheen of circle demeanor so I feel you. Footbag is stupid because nothing is ever good enough. I'd bet even money what your hitting now is way cooler then me and most peeps.
peace, make a videoyo.

Thanks, man. I appreciate the comment. Nothing ever being good enough is so true lol. And alas, I doubt I'm hitting cooler stuff lol.7evinkogan wrote:Good stuff dude. Especially the in spinning legover and the swirl stuff.

Glad you had fun in PA with us! It was great to finally be able to kick with you and not feel so dreadfully horrible at shredding for once
Your circle demeanor issue wasn't even noticeable this weekend, at least by me. You've really improved since last time we kicked. Great to see that. And if you're hitting sick runs like you were hitting this weekend, you have no need to worry, because I was truly impressed. Frisbee with you and Bruce was awesome too, btw. Keep working on that slackline! Try standing on it next time, rather than Indiana Jones'ing it
Get on that Flip Ripstein! I'm filming my attempts tomorrow. Props on in-merkon. Cool trick.

Hope to meet up with you, Schneider, and Jordan sometime this summer. Keep kicking hard.

Dude, don't be down on yourself just because you didn't hit the Barrel Roll > Barrel Roll on the slackline first try. You'll be BSOSin it in no time, just stick with it.
Was great hanging out and kicking with you this weekend -- you get better and more controlled every time I see you, regardless of how you view your own game. :p
S.O.T.G.!

Lol oops, that was a major typo. It was ss symp rev swirl and regular far symp swirl both bsos. My bad for sounding cooler than I amC-Fan wrote:1. in-merkon= ikong00d33 wrote:- in-merkon (new trick)

2. In that string, are the far reverse swirls also symp? Non symp far reverse swirls are super cool, but also super hard.

Haha I just can't figure muted far muted rev swirl. Granted, I haven't dedicated all that much time to it, but still lol.
Anywho
Furious makes me a tad furious. There are many a time, where I can get a nice set, but just can't finish with a butterfly lol. It's kinda funny at times, but quite silly. Now that I think about it, I had the exact same problem with legbeater when I first learned it on my strong side. Atomsmasher was a lot easier cause I just couldn't get the butterfly over it lol. So, I'm pretty sure I don't suck at butterflies/downs, but maybe it just comes down to practicing more ripwalks. Maybe I should practice legbeaters lol. Or lateral movement.
Also hit riptide for the first time bs the other day, then I sauced it. I guess that was my first time saucing a triple. Yeah, probably was. Yay. I think it's just one of those things where you kinda work up to a trick unknowingly, and then can just hit it. Haven't it ripcurl yet. Footed it bs though. Swirl tricks are nifty.
I also have a definitive list of goals/drills that I'll be filming over the next however long it takes me to get them. I don't think I'll wait to get them all to make a video, cause I'm constantly adding to the list, and that'd be a while regardless lol. I might also want to hit some of them for more contacts though. Hmm..

Just some drills. Has that riptide bsos from the post before. After the first one, I was planning on just catching it, then I realized I could do a string lol. Hence spaz. Video quality on my non video camera ain't that great apparently lol.

Kicked today with some interesting results.
I really just wanted to get consecutive long strings. The main goal was 3 consec strings of 15 or more contacts. That's simply something I have so much trouble doing.
I started off with tiltless. After some amount of attempts, I was satisfied after getting a 51 contact string, so I then moved to guitless. I was getting a fair amount of 15+ strings, but I just couldn't get them together. There were so many 19s then 12s and such. None the less, I was able to get my goal of 3. The strings were 17, 19, and 17 again. I know it's nothing special, but anyone who knows me knows I struggle so much with consistent strings. So yeah.
Did some other small things that made me happy.
Almost fell off my deck a couple times for the first times lol. It wouldn't have been a far drop, but it would've hurt my pride lol.
Ended the day on a 38 contact string. Felt good.
It's raining a lot.

Thanks dude!
So today I got to kick on the shred mats I ordered. Only got 4 tiles just to test it out. I have no clue why I haven't gotten these before. I really liked it. Need to order more though for a bit of a bigger surface area. Training in a 4x4 square was interesting though.
I finally hit flip tomahawk lol. Heck, even got a few of them. Also hit my first dolomite. Good times.
