Been playing a bit through a cold.

Yesterday I hit 20 strong side drifters- first ten hand-tossed to clipper, second from ducking clipper (much harder for me)

Today I hit 31 weak side clippers- first half from clipper, second from ducking clipper.

Feedback is totally welcome

I can't figure out why the audio is so wacked-out on that last post, and it sux cuz it had moments...

Anyway, I made up for it by miraculously syncing today's footage to a Nick Cave track... so long as youtube leaves it alone...

Looking for methods to increase string length- a reward for a week of only schooling reps of hard stuff. Osis-fbf-ducking clipper-repeat is key. Want to hit 100 contacts of it sometime. Well, at least 50. For three tricks, there are two options to catch my breath, and that is because I am finding a way. This will be a new learning strategy: planning combos I know I can both rely on and breathe through.

Very impressed with youtube's ability to process while the video is still being uploaded. However, it stopped dead on 90 so... audio will likely be disabled.

Very smooth BOPs.

Props also on the super-controlled spinning eclipse. Looked very easy.

Thanks, Ken :)

My new favorite drill is Ducking clipper, osis, far butter. I love it. It feels so good. I wonder what else would rock. Hmmm:

Spinning clipper-ducking clipper-whirl
ducking clipper- ss bf-whirl
whirl-pm-ss bf-ducking clipper
spinning clipper- ss bf- ducking clipper

I need more that I can go for records with

Those are both really good. Thanks!

I am embarrassed to say that I was only able to get through your drills, Ken, not repeat them.

My highlight is at the end- spinning eclipse to eclipse

played in pedestrian gear the other day. more info on yt clip. Footed 4 consecutive swirls in new balances.

Played a bit tonight. Hit some fun stuff with a very rolly bag:
•whirl - swirl on both sides and one-side many times
•bf-swirl bs - very controlled
•my best strong-side whirling swirl yet, first try
•some weak spinning stuff
•some rev. swirls on strong side and getting much better form (footed several) on weak side

Hey Ken,

I tried one more time with another song. Trying to keep my vimeo account strictly professional for my art. http://vimeo.com/user2096635/videos/sort:date

Yo man, been a while! I was in Canada for an internship and I just got back today, awesome progress on all the stepping tricks. Really happy to see you're sticking to those stepping clippers no matter how frustrating they are (and trust me, I know they're frustrating). Your stuff is really looking great.

Here's a link that I've been practicing lately: Swirl> Whirl> Osis rpt bs

I feel like this one will build you a lot of balance. Give it a go and let me know if you like how it feels. It looks super styley, in my opinion. Good luck!

Yo Nick- great idea. I put on my best high-waistline shorts and got jiggy with that today. Hit it on my weak side, first try :)

Long vid, to get some exercise after a long two weeks of reading, eating and coming to terms, personally with an end to an era. A couple more days in Pittsburgh, till I drive back with my freshly inspected wheels. And then, well, time to get silly on some serious stuff.

Yeah man! Great stuff! I really liked Whirling Swirl> Twirl. Looked madd cool. Props on hitting the link I gave you. You should also try to learn Osis> Swirl bs, and Osis> Whirl bs. Those have proven to be VERY handy to me

Posted a video on fb the other day because I didn't want yt taking it down for the song. I think the highlight was some dope osis-swirl bsos strings and osis-whirling swirl. Oh, and a ps whirl.

Here is a long video of swirls:

The best parts are:
•Swirl x 4, drop on 5
•Swirl - paradox illusion, bsos, first try, after no paradox illusions since I can remember
•Swirl - DLO
•Swirl - weak PM
•Swirl - Whirling Swirl
•Swirl - Twirl - String
•Weak Rev. Swirl (new)
•Rev. Swirl bsos

RIPSTEINS! That's boss dude. It looks like you're really feeling out those swirls. Props, Ian!

To make them a lot easier on your legs and well, generally easier, try to set steins behind you more. You'll have a far bigger window and you won't be cramped and have to reach for them with your clipper. I had the same problem at first. Give it a try and lemme know if they're easier for you. Set this way (more behind you) for regular whirls and see if it helps with those too.

Good luck dude. Oh yeah, swirling twirl looked madd close on a few of those.

Thank you, Nick.

I think the reason I don't go farther down is because I am in crappy shape and it's hard. I will stretch, take some time off from swirls, and then work up to it. I'm too sore from repetition and my bodies really tight in general. It does not like going much lower than that to enable the far-back delay, or it is not used to holding it that far back without the bend. Rather than force it and injure myself, I am going to think about the best method to go with from here. You are, after all, correct.

Also, yes- this is how I learned how to do my weak-side whirl.

Had a killer session. Posted it on my facebook page since I knew youtube would delete the track. Since most everyone who posts here is on my facebook access, please check it there. I won't make a habit of this.
