Regardless of whether or not it's a nickname, it's offensive. From a distance it is difficult to decide if it's rooted in immaturity or antisemitism.

There absolutely nothing cool about perpetuating a positive spin on this group of people. Identifying with it within a favorable or even playful context are equally unforgivable. Since Junior has the language skills to communicate in English then he should be held accountable to the standards of an internationally cultured person. If he was 5 years old or there was a language barrier then I might not be as offended. As an American of primarily Russian/Austrian/German-Jewish descent, I am appalled. Both with his decision to use the name and the tolerance for it that is displayed on this forum.

I know that there is an increasing lack of appreciation for world history by most of the world today, but this action and the related oversight depresses me greatly.

Hello, dear footbag society

I`m not any kind of antisemmit or something like that, i just love footbag.
So i created this account long time ago even earlier than last accident with this nickname had happened. and after this accident i had promised that i would never use it in my video again and i did. Before this time i didn`t even remembered that my old mail is synchro with youtube account with such a nickname. I can`t delete this account and i will be very grateful if you help me.

P.S. was very upset with the way you started to put me down here, but whatever

I didn't even notice the nickname till it was pointed out.

At any rate you can expect to get negative remarks on it in the future, especially if you want to post videos that will hit wider crowds than modified, so instead of being upset every time maybe just start a brand new account.

As for the video itself, I love the style, very fun to watch, both of you.

I know that Internet is not unlimited in most parts of Russia, so I would be willing to help you create a new account by using a utility to download your videos. I would then with your help create a new account for you and use after effects to remove gestapo from the rest of your videos. In return for all I would ask is for you to acknowledge why the murder of millions of innocent people is not something to be taken lightly. You seem like a good, nice guy and you have a great deal of talent. I don't think you have the perspective to appreciate how this account comes across to some people.

I don`t really understand a point of all discussion about nick name of Andrey.
100000 times already have been sad before, that this nickname have nothing common with war. And you started it again and again.
Don`t you think, that Russian nation forget with easy about world war??
Don`t you think that that Russians lost not enough people?

Should we start to discuss every nick name on modified and youtube to decide what kind of names are approved, because i personally don`t like couple of them, and i have bad feelings about that.

IMO, this is personal and private choice of everyone.

If someone has an offensive name, they should expect people to be offended and say something, simply because that is how people are. It has nothing to do with approval, or modding or anything. It is normal people with no modding powers saying "hey, your choice of names/words offends me".
If the offending party doesn't want to offend and/or wishes to stop hearing complaints, they should change the nickname. If they don't care, let them keep the nickname. What is there to argue about here other than human nature? Why argue that people should shut up when they feel offended?

I know a bit about history WWII and about our Great Patriotic War against fascism. In the modern world (70 years later) exist a lot of much more hard and repelling nicknames. This one was his choise.

Because of his nikname now when somebody tells "gestapo" i remember in the first this guy, his shred and our party when we both were drunk A LOT =D.

Completely agree. If this kid wants to keep the offensive nickname, it's his choice. I won't watch his videos or read his posts because I think his choice reflects a callous attitude towards a serious issue. But I won't tell him to change his name. I think it's great that people have posted that the name bothers them, and why. I also think it's great that people have posted why it doesn't bother them, and why. Ultimately, we all choose how we express ourselves, which is fine by me as long as people are willing to defend those choices and live with both the negative and positive consequences.

I apologize for taking a post in a video thread of a video I decline to watch, but I wanted to weigh in with my opinion.
