I'm getting pumped for this.

I'm flying in tomorrow night (Thursday).

I'm going straight to Grant Park for Blues Fest on Friday morning. I'm hoping that the weather isn't TOO bad...

Somebody call me on Friday and let me know where all the Chicago Shred is going down. --- 908...872...6707

Blues Fest!

Sorry you couldn't make it out Henry. Even though everybody who came in had some kind of travel problem, it was still fun. Thanks everyone who came out.

I just flew in from Chicago, and boy are my arms tired! Both my original flights TO Chicago and FROM Chicago got cancelled, and both the replacement flights I caught were delayed, but aside from those troubles, I had an awesome time. Blues Fest was sweet, and the shred was phat. I had good fun kicking with Reid and Nathan and both Toms, and Scott and Val, and MATT CHURNEY! (Dude, I hadn't been to Chicago for so long, I pretty much forgot all about WhirlyBird, but then, getting to Blues Fest early and waiting for everybody else to show, out-of-the-blue comes the one-and-only "Worlds Greatest Dancer" himself! I might have briefly forgotten about Matt, but I don't think he recognized me right away either, until I hit some dragons... )

So much fun in Chicago! Thanks again, Reid, for getting me into the Aquarium for free (wait a minute -- it was gonna be free anyway...)(actually, the Jellyfish was the best part, and I couldn't have seen that without Reid). And thanks to Scott and Val for getting me into the Field Museum for free too. Everybody in Chicago should go to the Field Museum soon to see the "Whales" exhibit -- its completely astounding to see the full-sized REAL Sperm Whale skeleton. AMAZING! And thanks again to Val Davidson for showing me the giant Chagall mural. I knew about the Picasso sculpture, and I knew about the Calder sculpture, and I found the Miro myself, but I never even knew about that Chagall mosaic mural, and it would have been a shame to miss it.

Shreds in Grant Park and Navy Pier and Millennium Park, and the "Shred at the Shedd" Aquarium...

Also, thanks Donovan for inviting me to the Pat Martino show. That guy totally shreds a jazz guitar! I am enlightened.

Despite all this, though, the absolute highlight was taking the elevator up to the the Cook County tax assessor's office in city hall... far better than looking for an exit at Wabash and Lake...

Chicago rocks. Looking forward to visiting again.

Mr. Schneider, of all the great posts you've made on Modified, I think that may have been my favorite.
