Had a session with Bob tonight. If anyone else was watching, they would have been bored to death. We just drilled small stuff. Bob was drilling various 1 adds and I was drilling Dustpans for most of the session. I can finally do them with the same look as The Outsider, which I'm pretty stoked about. Afterward, I hit one new trick.

 Dustpan bs x100
 Pdx Tap (Nuke ss Mirage) New trick, but since I've hit Sumo a bunch of times, it's kinda like whatever.

About to go outside and drill BOPs for about an hour, then go to bed.

Session with Bob and Drew Martin tomorrow.

Edit: Screw the BOP drill. My night-shred spot under the streetlight was too dim and it was hard to see the bag because it was often covered by shadow, so after a few poopcrap attempts at the BOP drill, I went into my kitchen and drilled some Flapper delays.

Highlights:

 Flapper Delay (with shoes this time) bs x100
 Hit a handful of Flapper> Pdx Mirage bs
 Flapper> Pdx Mirage BSOS

I really wanna just bust through the rest of my 2 adds so I can start drilling the shit out of my 3 adds.

It sucks, I really miss everyone from NYFA. I think this was probably the most fun jam I've gone to (excluding PA Jam, just because I hosted that and that was just awesome awesome awesome that I was finally hosting a footbag jam...). But yeah, NYFA was the most fun jam that I've ever traveled to. It was well worth every penny to get down there.

I hope I never get fat, because I walked in while my mom was watching tv and it was a show about fat people and there was this guy who had like a foot long belly button... You could probably shove the toe of a shoe in there... yeah, fuck that. I'm going to go on even more of a health kick now after seeing that. The only cool thing about having a foot long belly button is that you could totally store all your footbags in there... or eat cereal or pudding out of it.... On second thought, it would be awesome to have a foot long belly button, I just wouldn't want the fat crap that would come with it.

Good night.

Jackson's Graduation from highschool is today. I was chillin outside with him and I hit him a graduation present that I am TRULY stoked on...

 Mobius b2b from my flipside!!!! Now I've hit Mob b2b from both sides. I footed it like 5 times before I hit it, and then I got that shit!

Session at Bob's in a bit with special guest, Screw Martin. Can't wait.

My new goal is now hit Mobius x3

Bob and Drew played great tonight. Bob never plays great in front of Drew LOL I played well too.

Highlights:
 Merlin BS! (Totally new on both sides!) I saw drew hit it and asked him what the heck it was. Hit both sides within 2 or 3 tries. I was so stoked. First time I've ever hit a 4 add on both sides in the same session :D
 Toe Blur (Second one, didn't hurt this time :D )
 Stepping Solesis (New 5 add... Totally sick, totally new. Totally strung out of it so smoothly. Drew showed it to me. I can normally not string out of normal solesis, but this was much easier :D )
 Mobius b2b from flipside again!!!! I'm going to try to hit that every session from now on. I really wanna get good at this link. I think it looks beautiful.

I want Mobius x3 so freaking badly. Tomorrow, I continue (and hopefully blast through a lot of) my 2 adds.

Five adds if you count x-dex.

Props on flip mobius-mobius.

Out of curiosity, what's your average string length like? Or how long is a good string?

Damn! Now I'm even more pumped!!! First time I've ever hit a 5 on both sides in the same session!

And thanks for the props on Mob b2b on flip, i was so happy about that and also for the fact that it got much easier. Some people at NYFA talked to me about Mob b2b being my first 5>5 and how insane that is, but I really think if you break the trick down, it's pretty simple. Mob b2b is now the easiest 5>5 I've hit. There are some others that I've tried and gotten close to, but they take me so much energy. Mobius is just a spin, an (more or less) automatic dex, and an osis.

I'm having a session with Drew Krause in a hot minute. Bob and Brian are having a session tonight too, but Brian doesn't dig playing with more than 3 people, so Drew and I are splitting off on our own for tonight. Looking forward to it.

Oh and Ken, a good string for me is around 15ish contacts (normally I have around maybe 10, but that's if it's dense. If I do mostly ducking, diving, spinning, and BOPs, I can get that number higher.

Can't wait to shred with Drew! Wish I could shred with Bob and Brian too though :\

Drew and I had a great session. Drew hit his first Blurry Whirl, Gyro Mirage and some other stuff. He's also coming really close to Nuke sets and Mobius!

I had a pretty good session too.

Highlights:

 Longest string: Roughly 12-15 contacts guiltless. Pretty dense with a little bit of BOPs. Lots of crazy spinning tricks. I was gosh darn relatively dizzy afterward
 Merlin again! That trick looks so cool.
 Mobius> Ripstein (The ripstein was THE but it's a good start. That seemed to be "the phrase" for our session. We'd come close to something and miss, then the other would say "well, that's a good start!" Definitely a fun session tonight. Just wish Bob coulda been there.)
 New Trick! Atomic Ducking Clipper! It's a good start

My parents are leaving for Hawaii in 2 days so they want me to spend the day with them tomorrow. I doubt I'll be playing footbag. But it'll be cool to spend the day with them.

Look at the bright side... HOUSE TO MYSELF FOR 10 DAYS. FUCKING FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHH

Got home from work today and had to play just a smidge. I picked up my BearBag (which is dying slowly :'( ) I'm probably going to pm him for some new bags in a second. But anyway, I kicked in my swimsuit, so I didn't really have capability of doing a lot of stepping or pixies, so I BOPed, spun, ducked, and dove.

Highlights:

 I told myself I wasn't allowed to go inside until I hit at least 5 runs with at least 10 guiltless contacts. Session was only around 10 minutes, and I hit around 5 runs with 10 or more contacts. My highest was around 25. Surprisingly, I included lots of swirls and whirls in these runs, and even some flappers.

I want to try to hit 10 guiltless runs per day with at least 10 contacts each. Then the next day, I'd like to push that number up one. So tomorrow will be 11. Just gotta go out and play a bit more tonight, small session, cuz my parents still wanna hang out with me. Dammit. I just wanna drill my 2 adds so badly.

DRILLLLLLLLLLLLL

 Mirage bs x100
 Legover bs x100
 Legovering Heel Delay bs
 Flapper> Far Legover bs (Tough on my flipside)
 Sort of embarrassing, but I hit my first flipside Merkon tonight lol
 I think I might have invented a new 5 add! It's like a Refraction Solestice (?) I'll try to get video soon. I'll be so stoked if I invented a 5 add. Bastard took me enough tries to hit though haha Could only hit it on stringside.. well, I didn't try flipside. But I don't think I have it flip yet. I need that flapper to be stronger.
 The REAL way to hit Dustpan b2b. I figured it out flipside. I was doing zipper> op toe before. Kinda whack. I do it the dead ass Outsider way now. I think that trick looks so sick the way Jon does them, so now I wanna drill that way into my head.

Drill more tomorrow. FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FUN FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!!! WHICH SEAT SHOULD I SIT IN? WHY IS MY 12 YEAR OLD FRIEND DRIVING THIS CAR?

Yo thanks Kevin! I was (yet again) extremely inspired by that entire jam. After NYJ, I wanted to stop sucking and that worked... now after NYJ, I really just wanna take that one step further so I've been drilling my ass off every day and seshing with everyone almost every day. Hope you've been kicking a lot. Will def be keeping up with your blog. Good luck dude!

Anyway, tonight at Bob's Barn... Oh ho ho, tonight at Bob's barn...

Image

In the bottom left hand corner "Menu: (Pick 4)... -Shot, -Beer, -Hazing, -Footbag" Hahaha I got a "kick" out of that. Bob, thanks again man. You're fuckin awesome!

Great session. Lots of fun. Mainly drilled.

 Pixie set bs x100
 Pendulum bs x100

Before Bob's, I seshed with Drew K. Short session, but still lots of fun. Drew hit some flip swirls! He also hit Pandora's bobx BSOS! I was stoked for him on both.

 Spinning Clipper> Ripstein> Flapper> Pdx Mirage> run> Spinning clipper> footed Double Spinning Clipper
 Pendulum> Dustpan
 Dustpan> Toe Torque

I think we're gonna be kicking tomorrow too. Damn, I think I've said this before, but fuck that time before, that didn't have jackshit on this time... I've never been so obsessed with footbag. No words can express how much I love footbag. Damn yo. It's just like... shit... Nah, can't think of anything. Maybe like, if you yell so loud that it makes your throat bleed and then the blood spills out of your mouth and assembles into an army of blood people. Then the blood people army storms into the whitehouse and just fucks everything up so hard and it sets off this crazy ass atom bomb by accident, then it just blows up everything ever... Yeah, kinda like that. Sweet dreams.

After I got off of work today, I passed out on my luvsac with ice packets on my shins. Didn't play until later around 8 pm when Jackson barges through my door and yells "NICK! FOOTBAG?!" I was going to take the day off, to let my legs chill out, but I couldn't resist a kicky sesh, plus my legs felt and now feel much better. We took it real easy. I mainly drilled legovers and pixies.

 Shitloads of legovers, didn't want to count, just want to do them until I can't mess them up any longer. My toe game is shiite, so I want to fix that badly.
 100 flipside Pixie> same toe. I realized my strong pixie is totally usable midstring, so I don't really want to waste time drilling more on that side. I am pretty excited to say that my flip pixies are actually coming along well. My muscles are starting to figure them out. I want to do the same thing with pixies as legovers; do them until I can't miss one. I think Pixie and legover are the 2 2-adds I will be focusing a lot on in the near future, until I've completely mastered them.
 Tap BSOS (meh, I just felt like doing this, this has gotten really easy for me so I think it'll be a good addition to my guiltless strings)
 Dustpan b2b (this is getting easier now that I know where the D-Spot is)

I'm really happy with the following little strings. They may not seem too hard for you, but like I said, My flip pixies have been jackshit for such a long time, and this is actually the 2nd or 3rd time I've had flip pixie in a string, without it being the first trick (I'd call it midstring, but I don't know if this would be considered midstring... I'll work on getting it deeper in strings. I eventually am going to work up to combos like these being bails for me):

 Pdx Mirage> (flip) Pixie ss Clipper> Butterfly> Pdx Mirage> Pixie ss Clipper
 Pdx Mirage> (flip) Pixie op Clipper> Spinning Clipper> Pdx Mirage> Pixie op Clipper

I also was able to fix something I found that was incorrect with my flip Pdx Mirage... I was dexing madd slow. I fixed the problem, then tried some blurs and I guess it trickled down and helped improve my flip blurs! Footbag works in mysterious ways.

In other, non-footbag news:

 I went kayaking yesterday and caught 2 baby Painted Turtles for our Koi pond in the backyard. I named them "Mobius" and "Spike Hammer". Also in the pond, our tadpoles are becoming frogs now, which I'm excited about. And our Koi are getting big and more docile. I was hanging out with them today, feeding them and I was able to pet the one I named "Pixie" on the head. Koi are so peaceful to watch and to feed. I still have yet to build that zen garden. I want to start planning it tomorrow.

Drill session with Bob tomorrow at 8.[/i]

Yo Mark! Thanks man! You need to recruit some new players dude! I hope you're able to find someone to kick with sometime soon. Move to PA! Best of luck buddy.

Tonight:

 3 mile kayak trip down the river with my friend, Leon. My arms feel like jello.
 Right afterward, I seshed with Bob. We drilled again. Lots of fun! I really like drilling with Bob. TOnight we actually saw our drilling pay off before our own eyes.
 Did so many legovers of every style... Toe Symple, Clipper far, Clipper far symple, clipper near symple, clipper near, etc... Can honestly say I'd never done clip near symp, or clipper far symp legover on either side until tonight. Legovers felt really strong tonight. Merkon was a breeze bs, as well as spinning legover and stepping far legover.
 Something I was pretty happy with... Stepping far legover> op butterfly> rpt> stepping far legover> ss butterfly> Stepping far legover> op butterfly> rpt> stepping far legover. So hyped on that. The old Nick would never have been able to get past the third contact of that, because the old Nick was horrible at legovers.
 Also, something amazing happened tonight, which is also how I'm seeing this drilling pay off... I broke my tiltless record!!!! 67, old one was 51. Oddly enough, the trick I used to drop on when I'd try tiltless contacts, was legover... this time legover saved me a few times. I know I can get 100.

Bob had some surprising stuff. Stepping ss clipper x5 on strong. I don't want to reveal anything else, but fuck whatcha heard... Bob Reifer is on his was to getting so much better.

Uh uh uh... Bye!

nice job with the basics d00d. Symple legovers are pretty underutilized considering their importance. drill em for a weak and your dlos will be butter. All the basics work will smooth out your style fo sho.

hit a nice ducking pdx torque really easily today and thought of our central park session at nyfa. oh nyfa.

keep it off the ground.

Yo Kevin, thanks for the words, man. I feel like this drilling has already upped my game actually... and I love how I'm feeling the effects. Sick you got another ducking p torque. Nyfa, man... Oh man, such a great time. So hyped for the next jam on the east coast.

Tonight I seshed with Bobby again. We drilled our basics again. These sessions sound really boring, but we make them a lot of fun. Anyway, tonight:

 Decided I've gotten as good as I can at legovers for the time being, and I wanted to move on to drill another trick, but come back to legovers later on. I chose Pickup. The whole session tonight was just me hitting every different version of pickup, which actually lead to some new tricks that I really enjoy!
 New: Symp Far Pickup bs and BSOS'ed a few times. I love the way this trick feels to hit. It does not feel like a 2 add though, in my opinion.
 Also New: Pogo Pickup bs How come nobody hits this? This trick rips dude. I fell in love with this trick tonight and I'm definitely planning on using this in my future runs.

After the session with Bob, I got a call from Corey "Yo, wanna shred?" "...Uh.... Yeah!" So I drove to Corey's immediately after Bob's. I mainly tried to drill "mastering the basics" into his head tonight. He's actually been drilling his 2 adds, he said. And I believe him, because his game looked a lot better. He hit 13 tiltless tonight, and set his tiltless record. Later we just tried to experiment around and hit some bigger tricks, since I really haven't hit anything big in the past few weeks. Corey hit his first dyno, his first tap, and came obnoxiously close to Quantum Osis. I hit some new 5's and a 6... Not that it matters because these do nothing for my game right now, but they'll be there for me some day:

 Flip Gyro Dyno (New on flip)
 Flip Majello (New on flip)
 Nucleosis (Nuclear op Osis) (New!)
 Godzilla!!! (Nuclear ss Dyno) (New!) Dream trick for me... Plus I've always loved the name.
 Most hyped on this new trick... FLIPSIDE Pdx Tap (Nuclear ss Mirage)!!! My first Nuke trick on flipside! And it was a nice set too, madd uptimey. Amped!

Session with the Sensei tomorrow night.
Nick Polini

DDDDDDDDDDRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Tonight with Bob:
 Madd drills, yo

We kept it fun though. I've never had so much fun drilling for footbag. I'm really glad Bob and I are doing this together. Drew said he want to try drilling with us soon. I'm doing a new drilling method now. Rather than banging out 100 of the same trick in a night, I'm doing 10 of each in one night. So I'll have the experience of having done a variety of tricks first, rather than just mastering legover, for instance, I'll have mastered legover and a bunch of others at the same time, or nearly the same. Bob had a Duncan Footbag (like the yo-yo company) and we drilled with that along with every other bag we both owned. That way, we'll be comfortable with nearly every bag we ever come into contact with. Plus, if you drill with a shitty bag, you'll be better with a good bag... And your shoes would have poop on them :P Anyway, lots of drilling... Some experimenting with the drills.

 Really cool run with lots of flappers, squeezes, and sole stalls
 Ducking Sole Stall BSOS

After the session with Bob, I went home and freestyled a bit, ya know, to test out the crack and see if the drilling I've been doing was actually working (Don't smoke crack, kids. Crack kills). What I discovered, well, what I discovered made me really happy... I was first just messing around with tiltless, but I was under a dim streetlight, so I couldn't really see that well, plus I was kinda tired from Bob's. So I decided to go for some 3 adds to see if anything trickled down to those yet. I remembered that I had gotten pretty good at legovers recently... Hmmm... Double legover?

Highlights:

 Toe DLO bs and BSOS. When I hit on both sides for the first time today... I was somewhat startled. It got really easy! Then I hit it BSOS and I had to sit down. I sat on the curb, slightly confused and a little bit frightened, saying to myself.. "DLO shouldn't be that easy". DLO now feels like a mirage for me and I'm really excited. It reminded me immediately of what Jay said at NYFA.. Something along the lines of "Furious set feels like a toe stall for me now". (Don't quote me, but it was something similar). I now can understand what he's talking about.
 After I got back up from my DLO spasm, I figured I'd try Whale Tail. I hit strong side within 2 or 3 tries. That was weird, since it usually takes me a good handful of tries to hit that. Then I tried flipside, and I hit that within a few tries too! That was cool, because I have only hit that one time before! And that didn't feel too hard either. I felt a little like Peter Irish. Peter must have gotten so good at Symp Legover, then Spinning Symp Legover, then Whale Tail. It totally makes sense. Footbag has never made so much sense to me before. I'm really eating it up right now.

Tomorrow's agenda:

 Work
 Footbag

Oh I got a new shred pack too! I got it at this hunting/fishing outlet near my house! So sick!

Image
Image
Image

I feel like such a redneck when I wear it! It's great! I named it "The Shredinator". It's got room for my camelbak (plus a hole for the drinking tube to come out), my logbooks, my shred videos, my sandbags/firebag/light-up bag/net bag/crochet bags/other kick style bags, my actual 32 panel freestyle bags, all of my stitching gear, including my fabric, all of my repair gear, plus a holster for my new Nalgene bottle that it came with and a holster for my gatorade bottle filled with kerosine for the firebag. It's even got little hideaway pockets for my pocket knife, jars of Tigerbalm, deodorant, cologne, travel one-use toothbrushes, shit, even my cell phone! And it's pretty lightweight and not a hassle to carry around. Bob liked the idea, too. I love my new shred pack. I was debating all week about buying it and my old crappy pack had been falling apart all week so I decided as soon as I woke up this morning, that I would drive to the store and buy it. So glad I followed my head... I normally hurt myself when I do that :P
