Today I picked up some some sample colour swatches from an upholstery shop, and some of the fabrics on there are this "global suede". It's mesh backed microsuede.. After peeling the backing off, this is really nice stuff, but it's super thin too, so I'm unsure on the durability.
It also has "new age suede" which isn't fluffy like I'm used to, but has a shallow \/\/\/\/\/\/\/ pattern all over it, which could add some grip maybe..
Has anybody had any experience with these fabrics? Is it just too thin??
I will make a few bags with both new types and see how it goes for now.
On another note, I've also made 2 bags with this uncut cotton fabric, which is really soft on one side, and rough on the back. It's pretty thin also, and the edges fray, so I don't know about the durability of this either.
Ps. i will upload some photo's when it's daylight outside for some nicer shots.
Here's the first bag I have made with the 'new age' suede. I decided to go 2 stitch to save time, and I reckon it came out nice. I haven't kicked this at all so I can't say if the pattern on the fabric is good or bad yet..
