How long had you been playing before you reached benchmark levels of freestyle?
I'm thinking:
mirage/illusion/clipper/legover/pickup 10x in a row consistently,
continuous tiltless strings,
consecutive ss or alternating clippers,
ss or alternating downs,
continuous guiltless strings,
continuous double downs,
and so on into ever increasing difficulty. If you have any other benchmarks, please share!

I've been kicking a footbag for about 11 years now. I've been playing freestyle for about 6 years. Got serious with it 2 years back. Got extremely serious with it a year ago. And got even more dead set hardcore serious with it this summer.
A lot of the accomplishments you listed took me a while. I'm able to hit 10 consecutive mirage/pickup/legover/etc now, but that's simply because I didn't listen to my footbag friends and mentors when they said "drill basics". I just went for big tricks. Don't do what I did. I regret it, but now I'm making up for lost time. If you drill your basics, stuff like this will come so easily. And when I say drill your basics, do so many repetitions of that trick until you pretty much can't miss. If you do this for a while with all of your 1's and 2's, your 3's, 4's, and so ons will get so much easier. I just spent so much time on legovers, and toe DLO now feels like a mirage. It's an amazing feeling. Master your basics and you'll be hitting a lot of the basic stuff in no time flat.
Hope that helps a little
