wow nice! sounds like you're doing a good job. PS whirl is big
as for quantum, mine isnt good so i cant really help but i guess just trying to hit simple downtime components from it, legovers and mirages etc and then setting quantum from other tricks. maybe you could do some cool mirrored links like pixie illusion (name?) > quantum legover
glad you've found a mod thatt suits you

The Cambrian explosion of tricks seems to have cooled down. Had a long session (1.5 hours, that's long for me) without anything very new, other than strong fairy slowly coming together.
Magellan->Fairy legover
symposium mirage x3, on flip x2
dimmiest
whirl->ripwalk (bs)
smear->paradon->ducking butter
some flip paradons and datw
cleared a lot of psw dexes but no seal this session.
For some reason I didn't really have ideas for bigger combos today. Everything that came to mind was immediately followed by a mental "nahhh"
noticed that my flip ducking butterfly is pretty weak. Something to work on.

Beach session today, followed by beer as tradition dictates. I promised myself one cup of water per half liter of beer and totally forgot, so I am writing this completely dehydrated and drunk.
The session went very well, I hit a lot of the combos I hit on my solo sessions, including a few fairies. Again no PSW, but the attempts felt good; less strained. Having a blast with footbag lately. Had one new combo:
toe swirl->butterfly->swirl
I've started reading a lot more footblogs. I used to avoid them, being sensitive about my progress compared to others. It's liberating to feel confident in where I am and where I can be in this sport. Instead of threatened by better players I feel inspired. Instead of competitive with others, I'm competitive with myself. I wish I had this mind set naturally from day on, but character cannot be helped.
I've resolved to work on osis a lot more in upcoming sessions, it's a trick I rely on a lot and am not good enough at, especially on flip. I also decided to not work on swirls at all, I just naturally suck at them.
My girlfriend and a coworker said they admire how dedicated I am to my hobbies, including footbag. I feel privileged to have picked up this awesome, rewarding hobby.

Today was Tel Aviv's gay pride parade. I've actually never been to it before, and today I only spent like 30 minutes there and saw a fraction. There were tons of people.
Here's a short video I took with my phone. Warning, the audio is terrible:

I was going to start filming today for a footbag video I had in mind in some interesting spots, and today I got to one of them and my camera didn't work
Might as well, since my legs didn't work either. Had my weakest session of the season.
New stuff:
Stepping rake
diving osis
zooming legover
butterfly clipper x3

It was quantum op butter. ss butter is a lot easier and definitely not new.
I can usually do a nice, varied 20 contact run pretty easy if I don't take big risks, but I'd tilt bail 4-5 contacts. I hardly ever worked on maintaining guiltless runs, I'm not sure how much I care about these sorts of things.

here are some tips for ducking whirl........
1. start the dex high and before you spot the bag (if you are dexing to late, this will show you the other extreme which is probably closer to where it needs to be)
2. the dex should be a horizontal dex with the leg extended....then after you dex your leg should go straight down to the ground.
3. try doing tricks to lead up to it......
a. ducking clipper X 5>tomahawk
b. also maybe whirl>ducking clipper>repeat>tomahawk
If you are still wanting challenges with quantum sets...
tripwalk (quantum butterfly)>blur X10 bs
quantum dyno>blur repeat
quantum ducking butterfly
symp quantum anything>ripwalk

Thanks for the tips, I'll try working on this next session. I suppose ducking whirl and tomahawk would be almost equally feasible once I figure the dex part, so I might be able to pull that off, but I definitely don't see myself hitting blur out of quantum dyno any time soon. Quantum dyno is an interesting idea in itself, though.

I've been sick with headaches over the weekend, so no playing for me. Plus, I'm getting the rest of my wisdom teeth pulled out today, so I'll probably be out for another week.
On the bright side, last session I hit 60 clipper->clipper to hand catch, which is a new record.

The dental treatment was harsh, but the recovery was a lot faster than last time. The day after I spent the entire day outside with zero inconvenience. Took two days off footbag just to be I'm ok.
I just got back from a session at the beach with a circle containing 5 pairs of lavers! Whoo. It was a tiny teeny taste of the mental pressure I'll be experiencing at worlds, as my usual circles involve speople who are still scratching tilt level, and today people played near guiltless. I felt like I need to keep the same gap between me and them as I do from the tilt players.
Inspired by the Portable loudspeaker thread, I bought a budget loudspeaker of my own. Worked good for the scenario.
I felt very consistent, especially considering I've often incorporated the tricks I've been working on (osis, stepping, fairy)
I hit:
Ducking whirl! Finally
I also hit
atomic legover->torque
blizzard->paradon
schmoe->phoenix
Zooming butterfly (still a hard trick for me)
in datw->out datw x3
And after 2 hours of play when everyone retired, I hit:
clipper->clipper x 43.
I just need to keep this pace till worlds!

Yofi! Kol Hakavod! Keep up the good work. 5 kickers in Laver? Really? Thats pretty awesome.
That last combo before the clipper drill is pretty nice. Did you mean that you hit the 2-move combo In-DATW to Out-DATW on 3 different attempts, or do you mean that you did 6 alternating-direction DATWs all in a row in one combo? Just the two moves is cool, but 6 in a row would be REALLY cool...
