Wrong Coast

Post by spizik »

I started playing footbag serious after a long time off. I wasn't good before and certainly not now but I hope to improve enough to come play at tournaments and some day enter.

I started playing in high school, a small town outside of Rochester NY, managed to go to Worlds 2004 but I started having health issues that contributed to me not playing. Now, after moving to CA Central Coast. I would like to be able to play with some confidence, something I've lacked for a long time, but no players seem to be around here.

Right nowI'm trying to get my joints to bend the way they used to, my flipside clipper is awful right now. After that going to work on Double Leg Over (or Mixer... whatever its called now).

Anyone wants to comment here that's fine, tips are always great and encouragement is always needed.

The easiest form of DLO for me is same side without a plant (i.e. do a same side mirage and add a legover at the end). If your same side mirages are decent then hitting this both sides should be a breeze.

I have been working on the DLO like I said and I noticed some issues with my form, mainly my clippers. I noticed that I was very flat footed and sometimes completely on my heel. Once I started to fix that there was a notable different in my leg speed when transitioning into whatever trick I was going for. My flipside Clipper is still weak but catching up fast.

Things have been picking up though I still feel old injuries and issues. Eating better and having a more balanced life has helped but I know I have a long road to go.

Its has been way too long since I have updated!

trying to learn DLO has been stalled due to pains in my legs so I've been taking it a bit easy. Strangely drilling my pixie set has not been hurting at all so I have been working on that.

Hit (strong side)
Pixie Osis
Parkwalk (pixie ss butterfly)
Ghetto-walk (pixie ss no plant butterfly)
Mulligan (pixie ss legover)

Going to be working on my flipside which is still a mess as well as trying to work these moves in the middle of my string instead of having to start with them. I have also managed to find a player out here who happens to be in one of my art class at Cuesta College
