Are you going to be in PA at all this summer? I don't think we ever had a chance to meet/kick yet

Bob: I will be staying in Columbus over the summer, but I definitely will be back for a couple weekends and when I am, I will DEFINITELY be at the Sunday sessions :P

Had a very decent session yesterday, it was beautiful out. my strings felt longer and more fluid though I think I found my bail move: I always bail to osis>far legover.. it looks cool every now and then, but I do it WAY too much, gotta work on that

Highlights:
 ducking pdx mirage bsos (first try, also hit this first try at the session with Angetski ^^)
 PS mirage bsos
 symp whirl bs (again)>> really like this try now
 DLO (mixer(?)) bs, working SO HARD to get it bsos but hasn't happened yet. next session..
 whirl x2 bsos gotta do this more
 PS ducking mirage!!

I kick in a parking lot a half-block away from my house most often. People often will come up and kick for a bit, but yesterday I was kicking around 5:30 when these two guys came up and kicked for like 2 minutes; they were HAMMERED. They were annoying as fuck and were clearly ruining the bag I just got from Ryan by trying to ground-serve it and shit. I usually just cringe when that happens because I don't want to come off like an elitist snob, but they were gone shortly. They continued to the bar in the same area and proceeded to get kicked out because they were already too drunk. At 5:30. Sun still up. Oh alcoholism..

Right when I was ending my session, a woman commended me on doing something constructive as opposed to just getting shitfaced like all the other people in the area (her words) 24/7. Made me feel great :D

been a while, too long in fact. It's not that I haven't been shredding, it's just that my sessions have been pretty sucky and for the most part uneventful. Really working on getting solid guiltless strings (with mostly butters, osi, pdx mirage, pdx illusion, ducking clippers, and spinning clips)

Had two really decent sessions in the past 2 days (not entirely due to good shred, but that helped  ). Mike Angetski found this dude Jeremy on footbag.org and we ended up meeting him at a park near his place on thursday and then we went there again (with Brandon this time) today

Jeremy has been kicking since he was 13 (he's 32 now) and is really into hacking, says he does it everyday, but had never been exposed to freestyle (or at least players in the area). He has a unique style, lots of kicks, lots of back/shoulder stalls, and LOTS of lap stalls. He does these combos pretty frequently: lap stall>jester, lap stall>double inside kick, and lap stall>crazy flippy sort of thing (looks awesome). We're teaching him some basics at the moment and he's picking stuff up pretty fast. He has stupid natural crank on his strong side for clippers and hit the first 2 ATWs he tried... I think we have a new shredder in C-bus

So anyway, here are some highlights I remember from those two sessions from me:
 toe barrage!! hit it like the 3rd time I tried after not attempting it for a while, felt awesome. love this trick
 spyro mirage! second one I hit, only took 2-3 attempts this time and it was super clean!
 quantum ss legover
 clipper ducking osis bsos (first try)
 zooming mirage (wasn't happy with it, looked ugly)
 gyro data curve (me and Mike were racing to a vortex and I ended up hitting that instead. footed it a million times and didn't seal it when I finally hit it  )

that's all I can think of atm. Brandon's getting better: hit zooming legover a few times and was gettting close to a ducking mixer, I was impressed.

Mike is looking better as well, strings are getting longer and more dense. He hit his first ripstein when we were racing to it. I didn't see it but I believe him  (j/k hahaha)

Madd wicked dude! So sick you guys have a new shredder in town! Teach him well! You guys should tape next time. I'd love to see a Columbus Shred Session. You guys have really grown! You need an official name for your crew now... Then host a jam :P I'm hardly kidding. If you guys hosted a jam, I'd be there, no doubt.

Gyro Dada Curve = Amadeus (Bad ass trick) That's another 5 add you got on your hands dude!

Props on all the new tricks dude. If you wanna hit Vortex, get madd smooth with drifters, gyro mirages, and gyro clippers. I've seen you come so close to Vortex. You'll hit it. Amadeus was my first step right before Vortex, so I know you're insanely close.

That's great to hear that the whole crew is doing well and improving.

All of you guys, keep that shit up. And get Danny's ass outside and get him to shred with you guys. I'm sure he'd be stoked to know that there's a new crew member (I dunno if you told him yet or not), but I think that would motivate him. Anyway, keep it up man, your stuff is sounding great. Practice your basics, I'm learning that it is so key to master the basics.

PS. Lemme know when you're coming home again dude! Gotta kick!

Back in PA for the time being, had a pretty good session with Nick, Jackson, Corey, and Drew K. I rode my bike there and so did Drew and we were the first ones there. I haven't kicked with Drew since one of the first times I kicked with Nick really getting into freestyle (I suuuuuuucked) so it felt pretty cool to have someone really see the progress I've made since square 1

some highlights:
 flip atomsmasher (first one!)
 flip tapping mirage ("")
 merlin!! first one! I was trying it a bunch of times and tried it on my other side and hit it 2nd try
 toe barrage (hit 2/2)
 symp mirage>mixer
 legeater (quantum ss pickup, like 2nd or 3rd try)

all I can remember. had some decent strings but they need to get longer and with more uniques. needs to drill!!

that's all

PA PEOPLE HIT ME UP TO SHRED!! 610 955 7388 if you don't have it!

EDIT: tapping mirage was actually bsos :P :P

Fun time kicking with you last night man. More where that came from. We gotta kick a lot while you're home. Hopefully shred with Bob a lot.

Mike, Quantum Pickup is Leg Eater and Stepping Far Legover is Schmoe.

Nick, I'm pretty sure that Schmoe is Stepping ss Legover not Far, but it doesn't matter ;)

I'd like you to hit some challenges ;)
Pdx whirl x5
Ripwalk x 25
Spinning clipper > gyro clipper> diving clipper (rpt)
Dlo > ss symp. mirage (rpt)

Good luck!

Thanks everyone!!

Pawel: you exposed some key weaknesses of mine! I have yet to hit pdx whirl on my flip (but then again I haven't really tried it much). I've really been trying to get whirls down and they just keep being annoyingly inconsistent

Ripwalk I've only hit x3

and my gyro/diving on my flip is basically nonexistent atm. and flip spinning exists but isn't too great

Drew: I'm double-down to kick tomorrow- hit me up!!

Hey man, looks like your really stepping up your game. Awesome! You seem pretty keen on atomic so maybe try to hit atomsmasher>mirage>tap>mirage>rpt. Kinda a good drill to work atomic set and gain control before launching into another atomic/shuffley move.

Hope to see you at Boston Jam!

I thought legeater was atomic pickup. And Schmoe is definitely stepping ss legover.

legeater being atomic makes more sense, is that far or ss?? I'm guessing ss because atomic far legover is kind of an uptime-y eggbeater

going to kick sometime today, Nick (Polini) needs to answer mah damn text :x

Yo Nick, fun session tonight. Glad we both figured out Toe Whirl finally, and relatively at the same time :P

And yes, I dun goofed... Stepping near legover is Schmoe (but we learn from our mistakes)... But look up Quantum Pickup on THIS LIST OF FOOTBAG TRICKS... Clearly says "Leg Eater" next to it... so don't blame mine stupidity on mine self... blame mine stupidity on THIS LIST OF FOOTBAG TRICKS. Unnecessary double linkage ftw.

Nick, like I said, gimme a call whenever, I'll always be down for kicking.

There are moves on there that have not been hit. Gyro gauntlet? Paratoxic is all downtime so there is no quasi. Surging ducking motion? I don't think so. :? Gyro shooting double down? C'mon Felix or Olaf or whoever is not that good? Are they? Blurry mofly dragon? Yeah right. Like 10 people have ever hit blurry mofly. Gyro whirlygig rake? Maybe. Anyway that does not seem like a credible source. They count X-Dex. Also that notation is bullshit. I really want to memorize random latters and slash marks. Hey I hit a new move today. X!-1\+x Symple dyno.

Legs are still killing me from a session 2 days ago with Nick ^^. The main thing that really killed was his "warm-up" which we did at the end of our session. It was something like:

ALL LEGOVERS AND PICKUPS
 toe ss
 toe op
 clip ss
 clip far
 toe symp ss
 toe symp op
 clip symp ss
 clip symp far
 down (HIGH toe set)
 symp down " "

That at the end of our sesh freakin KILLED my legs! I need to do stuff like this to warm up, it's good stuff.

Other than that, the session was pretty god-awful for me. Nick got some awesome stuff (motion>zooming pickup & mirage FIRST TRY) and smog, but I couldn't get really anything, it was really frustrating.

We did work on toe whirls at the end and both started getting them, which are big weaknesses for both of us (specifically flipside). So that was one good thing from that sesh, got about 10 flip toe whirls with about 5 or 6 in a row at one point. Needed to set the bag closer and rotate hips more and after that it was stupid s(y)mple!!

I've been working flip pixies bare everyday since I've been home in barefoot, I'll probably work some in a little bit. They're looking tremendously better just from focusing on them hardcore for a bit. I might also do some other toe game stuff while I'm at it, I want to try that drill Doug gave me (thanks for that by the way, Mr. Tank!!)

That's all! Stop reading now.
