Worlds 2011 updates

Post by C-Fan »

Here's a thread for people to post updates on Worlds in Helsinki. If you're there, here's the place to let us less fortunate footbaggers know what's going down.

Stuff I've heard:

 Jay posted on facebook he hurt his back, and probably can't play this week. :(
 Radek posted in his blog that Olaf sent him a text saying he'd hit alpine nemesis at worlds.

It is awesome that they are posting results as they happen. Usually you don't ever see results from circle quaterfinals.

So awesome to see that felix is playing. Someone please please please please! video him.

Video contest results.

1: Mikko
2: Vasek
3: Pawel.

Anssi and Aleksi are shredding ridiculously hard, all day every day. I'm pretty sure they are going to get bapped twice.

Yay worlds updates! Exciting.

There seems to be some important players missing from the Circles pools. I guess some are saving themselves for routines, others might not be there, and some just aren't into Circle. In any case, I can't wait to see the videos start trickling out.

Thanks for the news everyone :)

Was the Vasek's video other than the one he bullies guy for taking his bag?

Can't with to see them uploaded especially Pawel's one because he didn't show us what did he create with all stuff we have done ;p (edit: I love the grammar madness in this sentence and I am not going to change it)

Btw: what is Yoda o.O?

I thought that was called e-walk?

Also, if yoda is frantic down, why is that notable? It's not a particularly hard or risky trick to throw in circle comp.

I was just going by this:

I have no idea why it would be notable :)

As I understand it, frantic butterfly is ewalk and pixie ripwalk is yoda.

Here is the difference in job's.

Ewalk;
toe>same in>op in>>op out>op clip

Yoda
Toe>same in>>op in>op out>op clip

Ie. In Ewalk the second dex is uptime. In Yoda it is downtime/peak time.

Ewalk is a pun on "ewok." Beta symp frantic butterfly is called "wookie." I vaguely think Eli Piltz named one of these tricks, but I forget which. I named wookie in consultation with Seb D, who invented it, as far as anybody knew (I also hit it at around the same time - 2004 I think).

Yeah, what Jeremy said.
Eli invented E-Walk, hence the "E".
Yoda is a pixie "downtime" ripwalk (not dada).

Thanks for the update Mathieu!

Damian has really put together a nice string of results at Worlds over the last few years.

Routines: 08 world champ, 09 silver, 10 bronze.
Circle: 10 silver, 11 bronze. Don't remember 08 and 09, but that's a lot of Worlds medals over the last 3 years. Props.

Really great to see Felix Zenger competing again, and doing pretty well for himself at that. Hope there'll be some some sideline footage of him floating around, he was always one of my favourites.

Any word on competition footage being put together?

I got 10 medals just from World Championships since 2008. And I'm still hungry! :)

Worlds this year were so great! Thanks to finsh crew!
