I agree, Honza had the best routine. I was wondering how they were going to score vasek's routine, he looked soooo good. He was either getting 3rd or 5th in my mind and I think they got it right.
It was amazing watching this unfold on the live stream. As Aleksi was closing in on the end of his routine I thought I was watching the soon to be word champ then he drops on his last trick and left the door open but still had a pretty high bar set. Then Anssi comes out and goes dropless putting mad pressure imo on the last three to go. Then vasek comes out and is killing it, he looked so strong and controlled I was sure he was going to win it but he had the issues with his ending. Still dropless though. So I had no clue who was in what order but I knew Anssi was most likely in the lead.So we are sitting with 2 dropless and an amazing 1 drop with Honza and Milan still to come. Really? So Honza comes out with all the pressure in the world on him, needing to go dropless just to make the podium most likely considering Milan was still up and he lays down the mother of all routines. Starts off controlled and on beat everything looked good so far but to win it seemed he still had to get some big tricks in there. Then the thegaro's kicked in and the bombs started droping. I knew he was in the lead, he rocked. Then Milan was up. We are sitting at 3 dropless and Aleksi's 1 drop and the best in the world hasn't even gone yet? Of course we all know what happend next Milan had an amazing routine and 1 unfortunate drop near the end landing him the bronze medal. I don't know if there has been a worlds that unfolded like this one or had the suspense that this one had and I feel extremely lucky to have watched it as it happened. Thank you so much for setting up the live stream.

As a side note I would like to add that Damian's Routine might have beat them all and was by far my fav. Too bad he didn't execute, it was on another level.

I agree, Damian's choreography was brilliant. I was disappointed to see that everyone got around the same score for technical and artistic. I would've expected Damian's artistic to be very high, and it wasn't. The artistic merit of his routine wasn't harmed by the drops.

My theory on that is basic: he dropped a couple times, maybe 3- forget, and that has to be taken against choreography because it means that several cues were missed.

Damian's style is rapidly becoming my favorite in the game. That man is agile and creative, and his choreography is smart. I hope he stays with the game. I think he was off his game this tournament, but some of the links he threw out in circle were very exciting.

lol, I remember last year Anssi finishing a string and going 'BANG BANG' very appropriate song choice.

great routines by everyone, wish i had been able to make it but alas, money doesn't grow on trees

Artistic merit is always harmed by drops, except perhaps when there isn't any to begin with. What looks better: hitting a trick in time with the music, or dropping a trick?

Honza was a clear winner, and had a great routine. I didn't think the artistic merit of the rest of the top 5 was very close, and some routines seemed a lot more specifically choreographed to the music than others. It's a lot different judging from a video than in real life though. I would judge like this;

Score above 5: - Every, or most tricks clearly choreographed to the music (note it doesn't matter if they're doing every trick planned out or not, it only matters if it's obvious that the specific tricks were chosen to go in that place of the music or not, and if you choose music where it's impossible to demonstrate that, that's the performers fault).

4-5 - Some individual moves clearly choreographed, and most sections are in the style of the music (slow moves in slow section, shuffle in fast section etc.).

3-4 - Most moves on the beat with the music, few individual moves clearly choreographed to the music.

2 or less - Not much choreography.

Watching those finals routines, I would have scored routines between 3 and high 5s. Again, it's obviously different being there in the flesh than watching the videos, but I think artistic merit is still a concept that could be better developed.
