TL;DR.

Just kidding, I read it all. Sounds like a blast. Can't wait to see that music video if it ever comes out. I was actually supposed to have some footage in a music video last year, for this Italian band called "Vermillion Sands"... Haven't heard or seen anything yet. Hope you have better luck than I did. Hopefully, I'll be seeing you at Boston Jam, whenever the phuck that may be.

Nick - Thanks man. Yeah, I get the feeling I'm never going to see this footage either. When they took my info, none of the guys actually filming took it but rather one of their lackeys came over took my name and said "we'll add you on facebook" in a blunt tone. :? Aw well, all I really wanted to see anyway was the head-camera footage.

Kevin - Holy shit I'm so glad you guys weren't there. It would have been the worst car ride ever! :P But seriously thanks for reading. Hopefully we can kick tomorrow and the weather isn't a 1000000 degrees.

So I had a session the other day in 95 degree weather. Wasnt too bad though. I found a nice shady spot by the Charles and mostly just worked drills that I stole off of people.

Near muted swirl>dlo>rpt (stole from Zach J)
Near muted rev swirl>dlo>rpt
Infinity swirl b2b (stole from Zach J)
Ripstein>mobius (stole from Nick P)
Spin duck down>spin duck osis bs
Spin duck osis>inspin mirage
Pdx dlo>ss symp swirl bs (kept footing the sauce… also stole from Zach J)

I made the mistake of kicking a little while longer after I finished all my water and could barely breathe by the time I biked back home. I don't remember the last time I felt so dehydrated. Either way, I think I need to start bringing 2 water bottles to sessions now.

Everyone come to Boston Jam in August!

Hey man, glad you dugged my Ripstein> Mob :D I'm honored that you stole that from me. I had a nice look at Swirling Torque earlier, have you hit it yet? We're still in an epic life-or-death race towards that one, member? Member? Member? Also great drills.

The other day, I was thinking about your game (don't flatter yourself :P) while I was doing some Pixie Muted Swirls, and I thought of a nice drill for you: Pixie Muted Swirl> Rev. Swirl> Blur rpt

As for the dehydration dealy, DEFINITELY buy a Hydro Pack. They're so convenient. Rather than putting a bunch of water bottles in your book bag, you can just fill up the pouch and and put it on your back. AND YOU'RE GOOD TO MOTHAPHUCKIN GO!

Really trying to get my ass to Boston... It's not looking great, but there's still a glimmer of hope. Keep up the good stuff and stuff.

The other day, I was thinking about your game
As you should be. Every day. Rpt.

:P But yeah thanks man. I wanna hit mobius>ripstein now. New race? Thanks for the drill. I cant hit it. Yet. But I'll definitely try and work on it. As for the hyrdo pack stuff, how much water does it hold? I've seen yours and it doesnt look like it could possibly hold more than a liter... Perhaps looks are deceiving? I mean you LOOK like your good at footbag, but....

So I recently busted both my legs doing god knows what. I browned out a couple nights this past weekend. After the first night I woke up and it hurt to move my left leg in certain positions at the point where the femur connects to the pelvis. The next morning I woke up and it hurt to bend my right knee, although I think that was from running the day before. Either way my legs still feel like lead today. So since I can't play I figure I'll post some highlights from my last 2 sessions with Kevin and Marc.

-Whirlwind (new 6 add!)
-locomotion (2nd new 6 add in the same session!)
-plasma (old 6 add, but hadn't hit it in a while)
-swirling torque (lousy seal, wanna hit this better)
-footed montage (dream trick)
-pixie spinning clipper>string
-inspinning mirage>near rev swirl>string
-whale tail and scorpions tail both bsos

Whirlwind was kinda funny. I kept footing it and got frustrated, so then I decided to add the duck just for giggles and the bag was less than an inch away form landing on the sweet spot of my laver. 8O I wasn't really pissed about not catching it, more just astonished. I even yelled loudly after it clipped my foot.  . Anyway, after coming that close to montage, whirlwind seemed much easier, so that was nice.

Hopefully my legs feel better by tmrw so I can get a session in with Kevin. Kid's been rippin it lately.

Everyone should still come to Boston Jam! (including you Nick, your other plans are stupid)

That one burned :P But yeah the old one was small, got a new one that holds like 4 or 5 normal sized bottles of water. I love it. You're on with Mob> Ripstein. Doesn't count if it's not filmed. Scorp's tail? Lame. :P In all seriousness, your highlights rip. No way I can make it to Boston though man :\ It hurts to say that, but there's no way I can swing that. Trust me man, I'd drop my plans to visit my senile grandmother in a heartbeat if I could exchange it for a trip to Boston Jam. My Dad and I call her "Mumbles", because she'll be talking to you in the room you're sitting in, then she'll walk to a different room and keep talking to you with that same volume. It's grand fun  Doug, if you kidnap my Mumbles... that may be my only shot at going... Just an idea.

Yeah, I agree with Tony on the freeze. I want to see that combo, and mobius mobius done without a break in the action.

Alright guys, then I'll play fair and this means I've not won the competition between Doug and I. New rule... Can't be a freeze in between. RESUME!

Edit: And Ken, I'll try to film Mob> Mob without that pause too.

I'll upload it again when I get home. I realize now that mine, with the pause, was still "clean". I just thought that people weren't considering the frozen style "clean", so I wanted to hit it "clean", then post that "clean" one instead. Hope that cleans things up.

Haha, I love how my blog got a bunch of action in my absence, even though none of it had anything to do with me.

Also thanks for the shout out Nick! Its cool to know I inspired someone. I must admit I was quite surprised when I saw the link though simply bc I kinda suck at blurry whirl.... Either way, props!

Anywho, Boston Jam was terrific. Lots of good tricks hit. Lots of good beers dranked. Some good hookah smokin. Fun footbag talk. All in all a good time. I would have liked to have hung out with NYFA a little longer before they left on Sunday but I just had so much work to take care of that I had put off until that night that I didn't have time. In fact I'm still doing that work now and am procrastinating with a modified break!

Hopefully I have some cool links, or tricks or something to post here next time.... In the meanwhile feel free to treat this blog as an area to give constructive criticism on tricks other ppl hit.

So, I played today.

Ken messaged me the other night asking when we were gonna trade styles and it kinda bummed me out for 2 reasons.
1. He's already taken my style and Somolinoized it. That prick.
2. I realized I dont play like I used to.

I remember just a few years ago when I'd read about players losing interest and wondering, "How?!" No matter how much I played I always wanted more. It felt like drinking beer from a turbulator glass; no matter how much is gone, there's always some kick to the taste. Alas, being the alcoholic I am, I always finish the beer and am left with an empty glass...

However the perks of being an alcoholic means I always pour myself another! Basically what I'm trying to say is I could really use an ice cold beer right about now... Oh and also I kicked today and found that spark.;) I want to start practicing like I used to and round out my game. I wanna finally get around to attaining that toe game that I know I'm capable of. I dont intend to throw down huge tricks but I would like to be able to make my toe game the equivalent of my downtime game. If I could hit the toe version of barfly>pdx whirl>drifter>rpt then I would feel accomplished.

Also in kicking today we might have a new member in the crew. Guy was hitting toe stall b2b x5 within 20 minutes and footing atw and mirage by the end.

Anywho I go back to ROC for a couple days tmrw and then up to London for the weekend then back to Boston on Monday or Tuesday and move into my new apt and new life. :) The future is looking bright.

So I'm finally moved into my new place and have internet once again. Score.

I havnt played at all since my last post other than the London Jam but I'm still itchin to kick. I think I'll play tomorrow and try and get that new kid to come out.

Anywho, London Jam was a lot of fun. It showed me just how out of practice I am, which is good. I'd like to get back to it and get consistent again. It's funny, I asked Manna how often he played and he said he hadn't kicked in months, which was remarkable given his level of shred that weekend. Kids got a lot of natural talent. It was also great kicking with Dante again. Man that kid is a force. Pretty horrible sense of direction though. :P. Also met Adam Greenwood that weekend. Another dude who took several months off and came back lookin solid as ever. Idk how those Canadians do it. It was fun seeing Cassy again. Even though she did make fun of me for ordering a small coffee at Tim Hortons. That jerk. :P And she beat me in sick 3! Double jerk! Jorden showed up the 2nd day and still knows how to play footbag. It was cool getting tips on handstands from him even though I disagree with his form. :? Johnny didnt play much but god DAMN is he a freakin dick when it comes to 4 sqaure! He was in other ppls squares more than his own! Then of course it was great seein Zach as well. Dude is the caveman games champion.

Overall I had a fantastic time. I'd love to write more but I must depart and go watch some music and get drunk and be merry. Til next time fizzied.

You best be playin' tomorrow! 1st Annual "Play Footbag" Day is tomorrow!!! Play in public and film some shit :D

Also, cool you had a good time at London Jam. I met Cassy for the first time this year. She's pretty awesome. Bummer Nathan Deschamps didn't go. That kid is ripping hard still.

Play footbag tomorrow! Spread the word, turd!

I was going to do a write-up for the East Coasts comp, but now I'm tired, so maybe I'll just try and do one tomorrow. For now, here are some memorable quotes/occurrences.

-Bruce: "It's like Three's Company, but with 5."
-Nick P: "Do you know if any bars around here sell beer?"
-Toolan: "It's an appendage that you just don't use"
Bruce: "Maybe in your case"
-Messing with Dave while he tried to blow up his air mattress
-Getting a free beer with Toolan and Josh
-Going down the hallway with Toolan trying the keycard for Dave and Waylons room in every door in an attempt to see the green light granting access... and then giving up and just staying in the PA room
-Stepping on nearly everyone in the PA room
-doubles 4-sqaure (this should be the new standard)
-talking music with Mark M, and also just hanging out with him in general
-trying to hit dimwalk w/ a piece of bread
-Slither... unfortunately *shudders*
-riding in the trunk and getting laughed at by the people following us
-Dave: (with a giant shit-eating grin) "Yeaaaaaaaaaaah"

I know I'm forgetting so much more, but it's late and I still haven't made up those 14 hours of sleep I missed from this weekend, so I am going to sleep.

yo danklas i feel like you need to up the ante and meet the bsc criteria for puking at jams, getting caught smoking by undercovers or falling down stairs or something . shame on you for tarnishing our classy, upstanding legacy of making fools out of ourselves.

for real though i cant shred this sunday but if your not busy on tuesdays and thursdays i can pick you up at wonderland and we can shred at my ghetto ass school. Sunday after next is too far away.

Woo, still on the first page.

So, had a session today so I could film for Nathan's online comp. I couldn't get the combo I wanted but I didn't expect much anyway considering school, finals and unhealthiness had consumed my life for the past several weeks. :(

But now finals are over! :D I've spent the last two days trying to rest up and just sitting around my apartment drinking (I heard alcohol kills the germs....) and thinking how awesome it feels to have no schoolwork for a few weeks. I might try and go to either NYJ or NYC for New Years but I'm still not sure.

Anywho, I had my first session since ... October? Idk, it's been a while. Too long. I didn't really drill anything, just wanted to get something for Nathan's comp and make sure my leg's didn't suffer amnesia too badly.

"Highlights":
-blurry whirl bs
-ps whirl bs
-pdx torque bsos
-mobius bsos
-couple 20 contact tiltless strings
-30 contact guiltless string

Just trying to get back into it slowly. I'll probably play a lot more once I go back to Rochester and don't have to travel all the way to school just to kick. Oh, and here's a clip of one of the backup combo's I hit for Nathan's comp...
