So, when I first learned inspinning clipper, it actually really helped me to learn it from xbd rake first lol. Then, I learned it from clipper, then osis. Although, mid string inspinning out of a hard osis trick is the most styley I think.
Henceforth, I challenge you to hit both spinning ducking osis > inspinning osis and double spinning osis > inspinning osis

John Goode
Alright john. I'm going to assume that is your revenge for my challenge. That is so hard!!
I challenge myself to hit(on tape tomorrow...geez):
1.30 dexless guiltless contacts with less than 6 osis
2. double spinning rake
3. sd clipper record
4. gd clipper record
5. gd osis x10
6. dsc>dsc
1. pretty tough but there'll be lots of spinning clippers
2. footed today first try need more rake practice
3. double digits multiple times. records like 20 something i think.
4. toughest one on the list. no idea what the record is.
5. my record is 5? i think. this isn't that hard. just need a little practice.
6. not sure how hard this is. i hit dsc>handcatch>dsc>handcatch>dsc today
The tomorrow part isn't that serious.
Tomorrow I will film the full session. I filmed today for 6 minutes but I know I can hit way better shit than what I hit for the cam.
The post got uber fucked up because I wrote <6> by mistake or something I don't know. maybe i just deleted half of the post

Soon...
very little footage if any from today will make it online for two reasons. i wanted to hit double spinning rake and all of my good strings are upside-down. i'll probably put one string up later though.

Probably gonna try sending something to adidas tomorrow
Like a 90 second video or something idk. No way I'm gonna get sponsored I suck but I want free lavers these double spins like eat lavers for breakfast. Adidas all i want are 4 pairs of sneakers a year and to be flown to worlds every year make my dreams come true. if that doesnt work maybe i can get sponsored by a duct tape company.
I'll laugh so hard if I get one free adidas product omg.
Today I went with the Lauri Airinen trick selection aka the wannabe Vasek trick selection. The Lauri Airinen trick selection is heavy on whirrs, ripsteins, double spins and osis> osis. I have the last part pretty solid although it does look horrible.
My rips and whirrs were rusty and I couldn't hit either on my flipside but I was wondering if I should get these consistent. I'd have a little more variety but getting these two moves consistent on both sides would take a month if not longer. I wouldn't be much better at my first tournament than I am now. Although I don't care too much about that.
The other option that I could pursue is to continue with what I am doing and get fucking good at what I do. Right now who would win a dexless request contest? The finals would probably be Bear, Jorden, Tuukka, and Allan. I'd like to be in that group. Who wouldn't? I'd like to be hitting double spinning rake> pendulous diving gyro clipper. Those guys can hit that in their sleep.
Here is something from Jay's blog two or so pages back.
"Toni knows what he does, does it, does it well, and with perhaps a smirk on his chin. Toni can walk up to a circle comp, do his 5 beastly, walk out and grab a coffee under a willow tree watching birds fly by."
I'd like to be the equivalent of that but for dexless stuff. To be able to walk up to a circle throw down a spinning ducking spinning osis> spinning ducking spinning osis> gyro diving gyro osis> spinning zulu gyro osis> gyro diving sole osis would be so sweet. You're probably thinking this kid is talking out of his ass right now and you are correct but that is certainly on the same level if not easier than maelstrom> gyro symposium whirling swirl> reverse gangsta> mind bender> mullet which is probably the easiest traditional 5 beastly. I guess if you count X-Spin beasts would become easier?
Getting back on topic which would be cooler to be a much worse Lauri Airinen or to be the Toni of dexless stuff - doofs, dragons, anchors, double ducking, and really hard inspinning stuff? Ie which of these is a cooler run? ripstein> whirr> double spinning osis rpt or double spinning clipper> gyro weaving osis> ducking gyro osis> spinning ducking osis> double spinning osis> gyro diving rake.
I'll probably go for the Toni route. It is easier. Fuck you flipside ripstein.

It's a marathon, not a sprint. One month? In exchange for getting ANY trick in footbag consistent, one month is totally worth it. I've been playing over 14 years. One month? If you can get those two moves consistent and it takes you a year, it's still worth it.

I've let you in on this a few times before and it seems like you just keep wanting to learn the bigger trick all together, so this will be your test...
I want you to learn Ripstein, super solid, completely reliable all the time in midstring, both sides, bsos, THE WORKS... But I DON'T WANT YOU TO DRILL RIPSTEINS I want you to drill the living crap out of these following smaller tricks (because I'm convinced that becoming great at all of these tricks, will lead to a great Ripstein):
Swirl (learn this in both ways "Swirling ss Clipper" & "Clipper set> Swirl")
Reverse Swirl
Symp Swirl
Swirling op Toe
This will be really sick for you because when you're finished with all of these, you'll not only be sick at Ripsteins, you'll be sick at all of the smaller parts too. If you REALLY want to get sick at Ripstein... I challenge you to this...
I gotta say, I was definitely impressed with your most recent double spinning footage, but if you add Ripstein to your game... you're looking at one sweet style.

Ken, 1 month was probably on the very short side!
Nick, I don't want to come off as a pompous asshole but I did hit 15 swirls to a handcatch first try in running sneakers that are a size too big. If I can make the connection to double spinning I think I am at the point where I could work on ripstein.
I guess I have to put out some swirl footage. I'm not sure if I want to work on swirl stuff...see epic rant above.
Whirr- I guess if I drilled it I can get it consistent but I have the ugliest whirls on the planet.
Nick, I am curious as to which double spinning impressed you? John's video, the almost double spinning rake, spinning osis> double spinning osis, or something that I did not put online? Thanks for the compliment but my double spinning needs work in the stylistic, cleanliness, and consistency departments. I give it a D across the board but I'm harsh when it comes to myself and stuff that I can do.

I can hit surging way better and way worse than this but I think this is a good example of surging's gray area. Youtube totally fucked up the quality. On the file on my computer you can see the bag on the outside of my leg. I still think this particular one is pulled. I did start spinning slightly before the set but I feel like a lot of surging sets that I see are on par with this one. Even ones by *gasp* Felix. Oh and I never play in shorts this baggy.
Whatever I think this is decent I wouldn't call anyone out on it. Tell me if you think this is clean.

I hit gyro diving osis> bigwalk(clean)> spinning ducking osis within a few tries. I like that combo. I'll probably use all three of those moves in that sick 5. Bigwalk> gyro sidewalk> spinning ducking osis> gyro diving osis> double spinning osis will probably be my combo.
Double spinning is a really streaky concept for me. It really comes and goes. Some days it will be pretty much first try and other days it is hard. That is really frustrating. Surging on the other hand I feel is always there when I want it to be.
EDIT: IT IS RAINING AND I AM INSIDE WEARING SOCKS ON A WOOD FLOOR AND I JUST FOOTED DOUBLE SPINNING GYRO CLIPPER...THROWIN ON THE CAM HOPEFULLY I HIT SOMETHING COOL
edit:
Epicly failed. the attempt that I had before that edit was decent. I just did like 20 attempts and none were nearly as close. This one was "ok" I mean it didnt hit my foot but the others were worse. I'd call it double spinning gyro(if i hit it) and I think you would if you could see my head but it is close. I promise I'll never upload something like this but having double spinning gyro on my foot felt cool.
edit: oops I forgot my bogus attempt. now that the adrenaline is gone I'm kind of embarrassed but who gives a fuck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF7PoWcwyl4

Today is my second day of college. So far it has not been that fun but I classes tomorrow should make things better I guess. My roommate gets here tomorrow and that will be good. So far I have only talked to a few people. If you know me than you know that I am a very shy person.
The first time I met John Goode I had to drive an hour with him and I think I said like five words.
John, if you are reading I apologize for that.
I pretty much have only talked to these two girls who were really nice and really cute. Not knowing somebody and having a meal with them is a weird experience. They actually lived fairly close to where I live and one of them lives a floor above. That is cool. People talking about their majors and crap isn't very interesting. I do hope I have some classes with them. I can't wait till when people stop asking all the general questions.
I haven't really kicked much while I have been here and for the next couple days I don't expect much. I have hit a big trick while I have been here. I can kind of play in my dorm since it is just me. The trick was spinning ducking spinning osis. I have now hit that twice. I hit drifter a few times. I'm going to go try spinning ducking double legover. I don't think I've ever hit that and seeing Ricky do that makes me want to. He is very good at footbag. I think working on dlos, torques, and drifters would really help my game. That would give me a lot of possibilities in terms of combos. I mean I can go outside or stay inside right now and take 100 attempts and hit and alpine marius or something but if I work on torques and paradox mirages (and some other stuff) I can get that relatively consistent. Gyro weaving osis and I would think that would be the hard part for most people.
I think people should try and play in tight spaces. Playing in tight spaces helps your style so much. Spins are so much tighter and pretty much everything is cleaner. (just my opinion)
Is it just me or has this place been completely dead? A post from a few people from Pennsylvania, a few from Montreal, Ken, and maybe one or two others and that is all that happens in a day.
For me as I've gotten better I've cared less and less about playing with the best players. When I started I would be like "OMG it is so cool how mr. clavens pmed I wanna play with him. hes so goood." Now I'm like "That kid is good. " I guess there are a few people that I still go "gaga" about but it is few and far between.

Hi, you posted in my blog, so I thought I'd give yours a look.
dude I'm starting college in late September! I'm super excited about it, but I'm sorry that your first two days of higher education haven't been super interesting. Cute girls always make things better though.
I like your philosophy when it comes to trick selection. don't lose sight of building endurance and string length in your quest for big moves though (unless that's what you want, in which case DO IT!) I like that your super into spinning moves, and i genuinely hope to see you go far with those. They're deeply moving, like a salad 0_0.
i hope your days are bright and full of virgins, song, and drink.
Take care.

Thanks for the reply! Hope college is good for you.
College is sick! OMG UGH! Having good roommates is such a good thing. The craziest shit happens. It feels like the movie 21. Everything is all quiet in the day and then it hits 10 and boom. I haven't played too much while I've been here. I've been lifting a little with my roommates.

Don't know where you are in Jersey, but I'll be in Bordentown for most of the last week of the year, visiting my niece. Gonna try and set up a couple sessions in NYC as well with NYFA. Depending where you are in Jersey (and if you have an indoor space) we should get a session, or come join us in the city.
