Greetings Fizzied.

In 2006, when I started kicking I was blessed with one of the finest December's I can recall. At this time in my life, I had been living in Germany for 4 months, didn't have any friends or family, didn't speak German yet, and had been playing footbag for half a year. Footbag was my life, and all I had to really look forward to. As an uninformed beginner of the sport, I came across the Joulukalenteri, ran by David Clavens. It appeared as if every morning, I'd wake up to a new footbag video to blow my mind. As I hadn't met any footbaggers yet, and wouldn't for many months, this was the first real sense of community I felt in my life. I want to remark on how truly memorable my first Calendar was, and how much it meant to me.

For those who don't know, in 2005 Tuukka Antikainen decided to use a lot of leftover footage from Finland in order to give the community videos every day, at a time when videos were a little more scarce. Following him, David Clavens, Zeb Jackson, Zac Miley, ran the calendar with some spirit. However, in the two years following there was no one to hold the reins.

This year, with Tuukka's permission, I am hosting the Calendar. This year I spent one month in Finland, including worlds, and fortunately enough for you was injured to the point that I did a lot of filming. As a result of this, I have been organizing behind the scenes with some of the best players in the sport, in order to comprise what should be the best Calendar ever. In the weeks following my journey, where I have remained injured I have made 12 videos from my trip, which will be submitted for the Calendar. Additionally, I have two videos from Canada which will be submitted, making 14 from myself. I want to give to you all what was given to me, and to look forward to watching the new video each day.

I have asked and received confirmation from over 17 players that a video will be made for the calendar. If all goes as planned, there will be the minimum 24 videos for you all to wake up to. Now, I feel as if it would be against the Christmas Spirit to deny any possible further submissions from players who I have not spoken to. If you want to submit a video for the Calendar, please have it completed by November 1st 2011, send it to me, and I will fit it into the fleet.

As a little incentive to make a frothy video, I am tempted to offer some sort of prize to the best voted submission. I will at minimum stitch the featured player / club a footbag, but if anyone else feels the need to send them a crayon drawing of a flower, their most special shoelace, or their grandmother's home made $50 bill, don't be shy. I'd love to see some world class videos come of this.

If you haven't already you should definitely talk to Mads Hole he has insane amounts of nice footage laying around and now a computer to edit it on.

Bump.

I just watched a few of the videos I made again, and, I'm excited for you fine folk to see them. However, not unexpectedly, the ~20 top players who I also asked videos from have yet to give me any of their submissions.

Because of this, I figure I would put out an announcement asking those players who I contacted to start making these videos. This December shall be glorious.

Some girls and me we decide to do a video of women freestyle. We wantr to know if we can be part of the christmas Calendar 2011. If the answer is yes, for us can be perfect around the day 15 or a little bit after. And you have to sent us the little video at the beginning.

Prepare for a month of Finnish eye-candy and otherwise world wide satisfaction. There will be only the best tier of players for this calendar. I somehow doubt you're going to get sick of Anssi footage

One More Day.

I intend on having each video released at Midnight, my time (Eastern). I personally believe that each video released in this calendar deserves its own thread. Each video has great quality, good shred and a lot of thought and preparation involved with it. I know that the video page of modified will be flooded with nearly all the same links, but, I do not want *any* comment to be lost. I don't want a video creator to have to sift through pages of one thread to maybe see if someone commented. I want hype, I want appreciation, and I feel like separate threads, as well as this one with a compilation of links for future organization.

If you are strictly opposed to this, I'd love to hear why.

I think that's a great idea. Just try to find a way to have the video name in the thread title along with something identifying it's part of the calender.

Well, there you have it folks. If you have any general gossip, or opinions about the calendar as a whole, do tell!

I'd also love to hear which your favourite videos were! It'd be cool to see if people reached a consensus on the best video...
