been lifting weights ....down to 144 lbs ...10 pounds lighter than usual..feeling good other than my leg.

For the last 5 days I have done ice, cold dip, brace, wraps, anti inflammitorys, and rest.....

I fucking hate that I am nursing an injury instead of training for east coast...
its getting better but still not 100%....will wait 2 more days and see how kicking feels.....sharp pains in knee have went away...achellie tendon was sore but getting better...brace still makes the knee seem more stable.....I hope to be shredding within the next 4 days.......then continue training for east coast.....

First comp for me and im waiting to heal.....

no more sharp pains in knee
no more jello feeling in knee
achilles heel not hurting anymore

still wearing a brace
hamstring being massaged and hot tubbed daily.
3 to 5 days of loosening up the muscle and using them a little

HOPING to be back and playing by monday latest which would give me about
10 sessions to train for routine and circle comp. :?

at 144lbs been lifting weights and in better over all shape than I have been since I did p90x

My last three major tournaments, I was injured right before them, but they turned out fine. Don't overtrain, and focus on healing. Get in one or two sessions beforehand for confidence, and let adrenaline do the rest. I'm sure you'll kick ass.

I was injured at worlds and i did well too :).

It's all about being mentally ready and selecting the proper trick regarding your injury...

^THanks guys....I am usually really hard on myself ...so to be mentally prepared meant being able to execute consistantly in training what I wanted to acheive on competitoin day. I wanted 4 weeks where I knew that even on my worse day I would still be able to hit my game plan.

But now.....I will wait until I heal (thanks Ken) and also pick the tricks if need be (thanks Mathieu) , but for me to feel truly confident I need to heal and be able to play at full intensity ......I guess it is better to wait and have 5 sessions to prepare than not wait and play with pain and possibly get a worse injury.... :?

two nights ago I called my friend who is a massage therapist. I told him about my injury and asked him to help. After a 50 min work on my hamstring , large tendons in the leg, shin, and foot I realized even more how tight my leg has gotten. yesterday morning I woke up to jello but I felt that my leg was WAY better in muscle tension...not all the way though...I streched for about an hour yesterday and for another hour today and realized that it has been since monday that I have even tried to do toe kicks......

Anyway ( thanks for staying with me if your reading) , I strecthed really good and decided that if I was to even think about playing monday then I should see again how toe kicks and basic stalls feel with my leg and so I could also see if there has been progress. I need some fucking confidence I am going to play soon at all . I havent been doing ANYTHING but rehabilitating my whole fucking leg so If I played lightly for a few minutes it might help the hamstring to use it a little, and if I am not hurting tomorrow then I will take off and start comp prep Monday. If I am then DAMN ME AND MY LEG TO HELL and then I am going to SMASH SHIT!
IF I get to start then ITS FUCKING ON

I read Nick p, Evan, Luis, Ken , Kevin and a couple of other blogs.....it is inspiring to relate to the stories in each blog and I think I might take a new approach to this blog thing.... Thanks guys

TEST session

stretch - 45 min then put icey hot on my knee
session 30 min
stretch 15 min

toe kicks----couple of hundred consecutive
inside kicks- same
toe stalls --100 same
inside stalls--100 ---same
clippers---bunch
butterflys
pixies
ripwalks
ripsteins ...strong side...no attempts at recovering leg
pixie pogo legover.....this is something I will look into further...help towards other tricks.....
a couple of whirls .....
pickups.......toe pickups could be the secret to barrages
bops
ducking clipper X10>weaving clipper X10>diving clipperX10
gyro legovers bs
spinning legovers bs

reverse swirling symp whirl....healing leg is doing the swirl not the symp
ss legovers with a tap in the middle X10 bs

did pixe ss inside catch alternating sides
hit reverse swirling sym whirl>osis>p torque.....thought of a cool link to try when I can.......reverse swirling symp whirl>swirling twirl>food

realized the my core and my leg muscle should be engaged at all times....
also realized that performing a whirl by extending your leg OUT and up and is a more natural motion for the body..

well

here it goes...wish me luck...If I can ...I will session monday...

Ate, then wrote out almost up to the first min of my routine. then I outlined where I could use pauses in the 2 min to regain composure for the next burst. I will need 1 to two sessions just to get the tricks in the right place. Then I can just focus on the run.. Up to the 40 second mark feels good and I know the links well but the rest is still in works.

I colored my gunits black and black feels good.

On a positive note....the thought of going to my first comp basically brings a tear to my eye. I am so happy at the thought of seeing other players and being in a circle with people that can hit mutliple tricks in a row. I had my excitement cut short with injury and the possibility of not being able to play but as I wait to see how my legs feel tommorrow, I feel the smallest bit of hope and excitement . WHen I know I for sure I will be able to play consistantly , I will feel the warmth of footbag sunshine.

I cant wait to see groups of people that enjoy the same wonderful game that I do.....The adrenaline that will pump when I first get the bag in circle, the encouragement from other players, the tips, the friendships, the games of horse, the swirling spinning, the routines, the circles, the sick 1s and 3s , the shit loads of lavers and gunits and qs all around me, the new jersey air.....DAMIT ......BOOM GOES THE DYNOMITE!!!

Yo dude, glad your leg is starting to feel better again. I'm so amped on kicking with you at East Coasts. I have yet to put something together for routine. School sucks, it restricts me from playing as much footbag as I was this summer. Weakkkk...

Keep nursing your knee. This is the first competition where I won't completely suck and my strings should be longer than 8 contacts :P I'm nervous about competing against you in Open. You're gonna tear me apart.. It should be fun at least. Your first tournament... that's so bitchin dude. Your description of all the quantums, lavers and units got me really excited. I forgot about that part. Always so awesome seeing so many lacerated tennis shoes in one place lol

I gotta go study my ass off if I wanna go to East Coasts though. Peace dude. I'm still reading your blog.

just won a brand new pair of leather green g units on ebay for $39.99. 8)

also SORE AS HELL.....chest, back, all of my legs......would be difficult to play today so Im gonna take the day off ...and play tomorrow. Fearless yesterday was the first time in a while and I feel it today. Within a week I will also be able to build of more longevity with sessions. Also now I am about 140 lbs .....I will weigh myself to make sure....but probably damn close....and that is light for me. Also the first time since p90x I am having the start of a 6 pack for abs.

Less overall sore today.
Left ankle is more sore than the right one. It made a crunch noise while streching and I iced it yesterday.
Clipper position difficult on lower calf and ankle for both legs. OFF DAY!

Due to the lack of time I have to truly prepare what I thought would be the sickest game plan to kick ass at east coast , I am doing an abbreviated building back up from injury and finding out my physical max at the same time. WHen I was doing 5s everyday, my legs were used to doing that on a daily basis and I didnt play as long each day...... I should not have played twice the other day.....oh well....I work from where I am.

I am glad to know that there is still some consistancy in my 5s but still need to spend more time on them to get in the habit of hitting those runs everytime.

IN the next 3 days I have 3 music gigs late at night, two are out of town , the 3rd actually makes my weekend harder because I have to drive from missisippi back to Louisiana then the next morning drive to florida. AND STILL FIND TIME TO SESSION and SLEEP.

I would be playing right now if I wasnt so sore. I did find out though how long it takes me to warm up and how long and hard can I play without being too sore.
Next session I will finish writing my routine and everyday until the comp I will train the same from here on out.

Session Plan

15 min pre session stretch

10-15 min basic kicks, stalls, pixies illusions 3add toes 2 add clipper
tiltless runs
15 min bops, consecutives..duck whirl swirl spin step 4 contact drills
guiltless runs leading into tripless runs at the end
5 min One hit 10 unique 5s bs and bsos BW, blurriesta and a spin
all fearless except for last run that has 3s and 4s and 5s
20 min VARIETY AND DENDITY RUNS
variety- go long and hit as many different tricks as possbible
density- 5add>3s>4s>5add>3s>6-8 4s>5 >3s>repeat

5 min break and stretch

15 min Routine

10 min on sick three fearless or swirling spinning

5 min kick and cool down
15 min stretch

This is my hour and 45 min session plan that will be started as soon as I am not sore and finish my routine....I will be limited only by my physical capabilities. My legs need to feel good and not overworked so I may adjust this slightly for that reason. I may also just have a routine day.

thursday. OFF
friday. play unless my ankle need another day
saturday play
sunday off
monday play
tues light day...routine day
wed play
thurs play
fri- TRAVEL DAY light stalls and maybe run routine in the morning and again the night before
SAT AND SUN COMP

SO 5 to 6 sessions including one day just for routines OK BODY LETS HEAL AND DO THIS Shit

LIST OF 5s to one hit.
scorpion-BW-Blurriest-Tomahawk-rippedwarrior-spinningducking butterfly and osis-mobius-swirling spinning butterfly-janiwalker-p torque- spinning whirl- reverse swirling symp whirl-pixie ss paradon-
