Vegas Tricks
Vegas Tricks
This summer I got to spend a month in the Vegas area. As someone who almost always shreds solo, getting to play regularly with Gatesman and Skaggs was a huge treat. Brian Bear was also there for a week, so I got a few sessions in with him too. Playing with all these creative players and being exposed to their styles inspired me to hit a ton of new tricks while I was out there.
Here’s a short video I put together of the tricks I learned in Vegas. Please watch it in HD:

As always, comments appreciated. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for taking the time to comment guys; I really appreciate it.
Radek: all of the reverse swirl stuff was inspired by playing with Evan. It's too bad I didn't learn ripstein from him while I was there.

Nick: I recently had a session in Phoenix where I tried for an unusual trick in every string. But yeah, it'd be cool to start incorporating unusuals more frequently. It's just real easy to forget about them when you're in the middle of a string.

I've been hitting revup on one side since 04 or 05, but that one ends on my weak toe. Flip revup is still hard to clean, and I've only been hitting it since my last week in Vegas, but it does end on my stronger toe. And now my flip toe is a lot stronger than it was 5 years ago, so I decided to take your suggestion and work on doing sets out of revups. Here's the results from yesterday:Asmus wrote:Would like to see you link some of those revup tricks to something cool.
