This video is a better showcase of editing than footbag.

Knowing a bit about show business, I know a producer after seeing this video would want to hire the editor before the player. Someone paying to have entertainment would want to make sure of 2 things: 1) the guests will be entertained, and 2) their interest will be sustained for several minutes to make the investment of hiring a performer worthwhile.

The fast edits do not show off your consistency! If Hania dropped every third trick the video would look the exact same. 40 seconds of footage doesn't show that you can perform a full act.

Hania, if you're looking to do trade shows, sports festivals and/or commercials then this video is great. If you're looking to do stage shows, corporate events, parties, etc. then an HD unedited video of a routine with choreography/costume is the way to go.

i strongly disagree.

a well edited video shows a degree of professionalism that is certainly higher than that of any tripod-video, no matter how good the act.
our clients don't just book the act, they also book the person and the mood that is conveyed.
i think hania is well presented in this video, much better than she possibly could present herself by showing an uncut video of a performance of hers.
i have been booked on multiple occasions based solely on the worlds 2009 trailer, a few photos and a list of references.
also, people in agencies usually wouldn't bother to watch a long video, if they aren't convinced after the first minute, neither will they be after 5 more.

that said, huge props to pawel for yet another high-class video, and good luck to hania!

I liked "Looney Feet" and actually appreciate all the little things Jorden does during the performance to make it more entertaining. The gestures, head nods, finger pointing, turns, etc...

It's hard to compare the two videos. Representing an entire World championships (and a well promoted/attended one at that) on video implies you are one of the best in world and a safe bet to hire.

Agencies are different than producers (which I was referring to) in that they can hype the talents and further promote them through extra resources and/or word of mouth. Promoting yourself as an individual is harder and a quite different story. In both cases yes, good references are important.

Some assumptions were made which aren't true. Unedited does not necessarily mean tripod. There can be zooms, moving camera and different angles given the routine can be shown in a continuous manner.
Routine does not necessarily equal 5 or 6 minutes. You are right about the short attention spans. But just 2-3 minutes could be enough.

No, I am not advocating for people to perform in my style or with that kind of complexity. There are millions of possible styles to choose and everyone should choose their own. Looney Feet is just one concept, but there are endless valid concepts. I would hope no one would try to copy my act. Also, that is a quite crappy promo video of mine so please don't think it's a good example.

Once again, it depends on what you want. Film in the atmosphere where you want to find the most work, with appropriate attire for the venue.
Wearing street clothes on the street says "I want to perform mainly outside/on the street" -- meaning outdoor festivals and sports events.
For promoting towards stage events, there is no substitute for filming a continuous live performance with special attire with the real time audience reactions.
In my opinion, this is the best form of promotion possible and can lead to the most amount of well-paid work.

Hania, please don't take any of this as insults or negative feedback. The video is very good for what it is. Use this criticism as a way to improve your promotional materials to further establish yourself.
It can be a long process...and what you have here is a very good start!

This video is so awesome! Gave me great inspiration, and I am hoping to make some similar videos of me and my lads soon. We are travelling to Las Vegas for an expo, and hope to get some great footage there. We got some great Hilton Las Vegas Discount Codes, so we are pretty excited about playing footbag around Las Vegas. When I do, I will be sure to post them on here!
