New move:Far symposium rev. whirling (cross body) rake (second try). Flip seem attainable but I won't try it again on such little sleep.

Hit barrage today, first try.

Hit spinning clipper, ducking clipper repeat, second try- a drill I need to start again.

Ducking clipper, deep delay- swirl, bsos

Practiced osis' with long, spotted delays. One side is solid. One side needs work. Work it will get.

Landed a few ollies on my friends skateboard!!! 8O

Schooled the heck out of ducking clippers b2b.

Been up since 1am. Schedule is messed up from programming. Here's to a reasonable bedtime tonight!

Hey man, your game seems like it's really coming along. In that last video there, you had some really nice strings with lots of variety. They were fun to watch. Keep it up man.

Edit: Where is the art museum that you were working in last year? Was that Palmer Museum of Art? If it was, I just got a job there for this year!

Lol! I didn't work at an art museum, but I am involved with the place as an MFA student, I do have a studio across the street and I do play outside of it regularly as it is lit. Word. It's gonna be fun next semester.

Sweet video.....props on the swirling tricks and ducks

just a tip....

with twirl ...you are falling off balance with the catch .....things that will help you with this .......try to hit start using twirl ALOT....hit at least 10 on each side every session....try to hit twirl>ss butterlfy, twirl>step would really fix it, twirl to anything that makes you stand up straight like twirl to a FREEZED stall..

with zig zag.....it was super small which is actually harder for me but I feel like you dont really use any momentum off of your support leg.....try ducking clipper>rev swirl, ducking clipper>swirl, ducking clipper>twirl.
jonathan scneider once challenged me to hit swirling twirl with a slight and quick tap of the ground after the swirl before the reverse swirl...this helped me alot isolate the swirl and stay committed no to rush the trick.....thats when swirling whirl got easier....

Also I find regular swirls wierd but love rev swirls....they force you to relay and delay the bag and also are the main key in twirl.....please try to start hitting rev swirl X 5 at least and you will feel your rev swirl change and when you can rev swirl in and out of ducking clippers you will probably feel more controlled..

Quantums looked good,
dynos need to be smaller and attacked quicker...try osisX 4>dyno repeat and dyno>torque....or multiple dynos....if you can do 10 back to back with rev swirl or dynos you will be able to hit it all day long

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Thank you- I will have to start with practicing flip twirl

This makes a lot of sense. It may take time, especially since school is just round the bend.

My clipper needs to improve before I feel comfortable with either direction but this practice should help. Since either version feels more comfortable in a simple style, I think that your suggestion with the momentum will help a lot with rev. swirl, and this control may help with the patience, form and timing on my regular swirl.
Jazzkid wrote:Quantums looked good,
Thank you- that side can work in the typical fashion because I have the respective pixie motion down (not the trick motion, but actual motion). Otherwise, the other side looks like an actually toe-stepping set because it is so hippy. It's just the one side that has variability at this time. I demonstrated a hippy quantum the other day when Nick was around and it was huge. I think I may try op side whirl out of it.
Jazzkid wrote:dynos need to be smaller and attacked quicker
In general, this is good advice, though I should state that these are particularly bad form because my clipper or balance seems so weak after the osis. I think I need to work on that and my crank in general.

This will help with that.

Threw out my camo units after last session.

Tried one of my reserve-green-units yesterday. I hate the feel so much. Makes want to give up playing and just run. Such a major bummer. Or, at least switch back to lavers. Anyway, no time to play, regardless. This next week has been spoken for.

Wow. Month in a half since I last posted.

I have been very busy and I have missed out on many great events, and chances to hang with the very cool scene that Nick and Nate are putting together here at PSU.

Oh well. I look forward to kicking when I can. With them, NYFA and by myself. Fortunately, I have been mostly very happy. Learning tons. Working. Traveling. Etc. I am pretty excited about the future. Hopefully there will be footbag in it. Altogether, fingers crossed!

Blurry whirl, first try. Looked dope.
Huge ripwalks.
All on strong side.

osis-swirl repeat. Second try.
4 contacts of tripless: ducking bf-ducking bf-ducking PM- bf swirl
osis-swirl-whirling swirl- first try

Some decent strings. A very short session.

I like those osis-swirl links, the last one especially.

Thanks for your tips on ripsteins. I toyed with them a bit yesterday, and while I'm still far from anything good, I think your tips have me on a better path.

Glad to hear you're still making some time to play. If things work out, maybe see you in NYC the last week of the year?

Osis-pause- swirl (down timey) repeat, is the drill to learn proper swirl form. I swear by it.

Glad that my advice is helping, and thank you for the kind words!

No promises yet, but I am in love with a woman from Queens, so it is possible that I would return with her from Pittsburgh to NYC after Xmas.

Don't forget that Dimwalk BSOS!

You killed it yesterday man. Really impressed by those midstring stepping tricks. I don't know what you were thinking or doing differently, but keep doing/thinking that same thing, because those were top notch.

Always fun shredding with you, just wish you could play more often. I know how busy you are though. But PLEASE, hit me up next time you get some free time. Hopefully, I won't be busy when you're free, because I'm pretty busy from time to time, as well.

Take it easy man, see ya when I see ya.

Been daydreaming about footbag on the bus.

Thought about whirling symposium swirling osis a lot.
My theory is that someone with enough height could get a rev. Swirl
Dex in at the end, making for a very styley move. However, ending on a rev up like motion it could be conceivably a very float quad dex. Probably impossible but worth dreaming about :)

The first dex would barely be uptime. The second dex would barely be midtime. The last two dexes would be a last minute downtime burst.

Anyway, sometimes I think of dream moves and thought this would be sexy.

I saw that movie The Next Three Days. There are a couple scenes at Arsenal Park. Why weren't you there shredding for the film?

They got lucky- I should have been there

Meanwhile, that trick no longer seems possible, even in my head, though ending on a gyro swirl from the first two dexes does.
