Okay, so no video this post sadly. But, Drew and I kicked tonight, and I hit some nifty things.

- tapping drifter bs (oddly new, almost bsos'd it on the first try)
- a strange amount of symp eggs strongside
- had a great flipside symp atomic set midstring, but was a little caught off guard by it and dropped the legover lol. Woulda been a sauce.
- flailing legover > symp egg
- drew hit a stupid clean merlin legover thing, whatever that's called in its awesomeness
- assassin x2 pretty easily. I should work that more
- a couple flip smogs (very rare for me haha)

and

- blurriest > blurriest :)

Weird to say, but that's my first triple dex > triple dex. It just kinda happened too, so it was nifty.

I'm going to actually try to play multiple times this week

Shred's looking tight mang. I'm jealous of your eggs. Mantis bsos is super dope. Hopefully I see you at a tourny soon!

Haha thanks, Doug. It may not be as tight as you think lol.

But yeah, in relation to yesterday; I just kicked again. Drilled two things, then hit:

 symp egg bsos

My flipside decided to cooperate this morning

Now to go do a letter to the editor or something like that for ethics

I've kicked 4 times so far this week. Haven't done that in a while. It feels so good though. I've been working on the same two drills the past 3 sessions in addition to symp eggs. The drills aren't anything fancy, but they're something I need to work on. I've bsos'd symp egg each of those 3 sessions, which I'm really happy about.

I also started on whirling swirls today. When I hit pdx whirling swirl both sides last week, that was me basically pretending I can hit whirling swirl normally lol. I honestly never even bsos'd it before. When I hit it pdx, it was one of those things where I tried it like last winter just for the lolz and came really close, but didn't think twice about it cause I knew it wasn't time yet. Hitting it this time had a little more motivation behind it simply because Drew and I were talking about what would really help to have under the belt before hitting it. I'd done maybe a little less than half what we discussed, so I was all like, "I'm gonna hit it anyway!" And, I did. So, I finally bsos'd whirling swirl today lol. I even did it 3 different times. Since, it's starting to come to me pretty easily, I'm going to keep on working it to add to my game. I've also been challenged to hit various whirling swirl moves, so I'm going to try to do this right.

I also finally hit smog bsos lol.

Hoping to film something tomorrow. We'll see if I end up playing at a place I can film at. Hopefully, I do. Heck, I'll even film with my real camera so it's not super blurry lol. Silly webcam.

Holy tortured baby cow! That was really good man. Loved the Symp Eggs and especially Butterfly Swirl b2b. Mega dope. You just helped me with blur too  Thanks :) Keep it up, John. Shit is looking so sick lately. Also props on that Whirling Swirl sauce.

PS. Would you mind giving me some pointers on Whirling Swirl? It sucks to say that it's absolutely dialed on my strong side, but my weakside, I've hit like 3 times, maybe 4 :\ Anything you can throw my way would be great. Thanks John. Hope to shred with you soon.

Nick, thanks, dude! I appreciate it. And for the whirling swirls, I went about learning them differently than most people. And to boot, this week is only my first week being able to hit them somewhat consistently. So if you want to and/or are willing to, would you mind filming like 3 whirling swirls on your strong side and 3 (attempts) on your flipside? A couple different angles would be good too. Your strong side is definitely solid, so it's just a matter of figuring out what you're not doing on the flip.

Ken, thanks for the compliments. I haven't tried open everything yet, but I have recently began to consider it. The drill I hit in the video was one of two drills that I was working on most of the week to try and make it consistent (the other one was just a stepping one). I'll start working towards open everything a little more actively now that you said it haha.

I really like that your style is very calm and controlled. You don't seem to rush into any trick.

Props on Infinity Swirl b2b, that is such a cool link. I'd like to see you do more things out of stepping and I think you could do much more cool stuff with zooming and frigidosis sets :)

Keep the videos coming :)

Thanks, Simon! I'll definitely keep those ideas in mind!

Today, I started along my usual path of warmup to stepping drill to pixie drill. Started to take some whacks at open everything. Worked on symp eggs. So on and so forth.

Then, I started taking whacks at ps egg, and I was able to get that both sides. It's hard to get the timing right for it, though. From there I went to bedwetters. I still can't get that bsos for the life of me lol. I was hitting it pretty well both sides, but when it came to midstring, I'm pretty sure my body was doing everything in its power to not let me get it lol. I'll beat you soon, body! I gave backside bedwetter like 2 or 3 attempts, but I just wasn't doing the set right. One was "kinda" close.

I think I've said this before somewhere, but I end every session on DATW, both directions, both legs. I do it more or less as just a check that I can, and so that I end on a good note after hitting all 4. Today, I decided to start pushing this further. First, I did double switchover both sides (midtime). Next, I hit double pickup both sides (toe set, downtime). Then, barrage bs and delusion bs. I realized it was silly that I'd never hit dso downtime except for hitting open dso in socks one time. This was especially silly considering dso is my natural dex direction, but I've hit downtime double pickup both sides. I ended up hitting them pretty easily. So, why stop there? I decided to go for clipper near dso both sides. Strong side came quickly, but flipside took a bunch of attempts and analyzing. I got a lot of satisfaction out of hitting it finally.

So yeah, in summary:

- ps egg bs
- near dso bs

Kicked with Drew one last time for the semester.

Highlights:

- Hit flip food processor for the first time (had the bsos right off my foot :( )
- smog bsos again
- symp egg > smog kinda sorta (the seal being it flying in drew's direction with him doing the hand catch)
- a couple of okay strings maybe?

Last night, I also bsos'd reaper 3 different times, one of which also footed the bsos of pdx blender (barely dropped the flipside).

I head home for winter break tomorrow. On Wednesday, I'm really hoping to find a gym that'll do a one month membership and will allow me to kick there. Wish me luck on indoor winter shred space!

Got to kick outside today. It was a pretty good session, but there were two things that really made me happy.

- bedwetter bsos
- janiwalker bsos

These are two tricks I've had so much difficulty in stringing, especially jani. Bedwetter had just been a tease for me lately.

Also hit superfly both sides again. I realized something I was doing wrong with it, so maybe I can start hitting it more now.

Okay, so I sucked it up and got a 1 year membership to a gym just so I could kick during the winter lol. Granted, the gym I chose works out pretty well cause I have one near school, and I can even freeze my membership for a bit cause I'm a student and what not. Signed up this afternoon and just had a session from like 8:45-10:15

It was a decent session and what not. Drilled some single tricks and my current usual drills. I figure if I'm in a gym, drilling is what I should do to fit in  The traction of the floor is great. It's not entirely level in all places, but that's no biggie. The lighting isn't the greatest, but as long as your not facing away from it too much, you're good.

The goal is to get there:

- monday (check)
- tuesday (check)
- wednesday (check)

so I'm not a total n00b when I go into the city and kick with NYFA and all the nifty people coming in. It'll still be a buttload of fun!

I bsos'd blurry drifter today. And by that I mean like a 4 or 5 contact string with two of them being the blurry drifters and 3 of them being BOPs. Lol

Also hit:

- bubbabeater > near whirl > rpt > dlo > near whirl > rpt

Not too crazy, but I felt really accomplished after it for some reason lol.

I like playing at this gym despite the heavier traffic. I did a 5 minute jog before my session today simply because the area was a little crowded when I got there, and I almost feel like it made all the difference. Also stretched a bit longer before warming up after the jog. I should probably do that all the time lol

NYFA Jam: Winter Edition was awesome. Finally hit a backside bedwetter and some other nifty things, but didn't actually play too well the first day. Oh well, the fun outweighed the bad.

Just had a gym sesh. It was getting a little too crowded while I was kicking. I drilled the things I always do before everyone decided it was cool to be in the exact same spot as me. Once it was crowded, I remembered Nick and Kevin were schooling toe stalls, so I figured I'd give it a whack. I ended up with:

- toe stall x1300

I'm pretty sure I could've made it to 1500 at least, but my body was starting to feel a little funny, so I ended it at that. I just want to know how long it took, cause I was definitely at it for a little while. Maybe I'll go for 1500 again soon. Maybe.
