On Thursday I played for about 1.5 hours and then 3.5 yesterday. Feelin' pretty good about that, since I hit a lot of good stuff:

Also, my best friend for probably the past five years has started playing with me and is learning really quickly. We've probably had about 10 sessions so far and she's hit most of the 2 adds and can do 20 toe stalls and stuff like that. Very cool.

I've been pretty busy with school but finally had time to play some footbag again last night. What went down:
-8 fearless (fairy duck butt>mat>sumo>darkwalk>bs blur>phoenix>bl drfit>bl whirl)
-pdx torque>zoom bs
-nuke torque
I'm really glad I hit nuke torque because even though it's not new it's been too long since i last hit that trick. I've definitely stop schooling the set much in favor of more fundamental stuff and lost it pretty quickly.
In other news, the student groups people at Penn State still haven't gotten back to me yet, and our plans for a tourney are pretty much contingent on getting some sort of venue through the club.. so that's a major delay..
However, we keep getting more and more people interested in footbag here at Penn State so hopefully once we get everything in motion it will be pretty cool.

You texted me this stuff earlier, but props again. I was so stoked about that text, but so upset that I couldn't play... Then I tried playing and had an amazing come-back session. So thanks for that, and can't wait to play footbag again with you and the crew. Also stoked for this Saturday. Sounds like a blast. I'll bring BOTs and NBK, as well. Can't wait to see the raw ass shred flicks that Scott gave you. The new guys are gonna love it. *Gasp!* Their first shred video! 
lol They're gonna dig it. Also, sick that we have new players that we don't even know yet haha I haven't met this Luke kid yet, but he has Lavers now and can hit toe stalls like a champ apparently. And my friend Doug was always a good hacker, and seems really excited to get into footbag. But super-props on Nuke Torque. Ughhh. That just hurts to think about. That's gotta mean that your Nukes are coming back from the dead Anyway, sorry this paragraph is so clumpy

Today, instead of watching the Penn State game (we lost, kinda happy about it) I played outside in the nice weather but didn't really hit much besides drilling double downs.
Then I played again tonight in my room and went for big combos and tricks.

When reading through some of your stuff and seeing 69 it reminded me that I briefly kicked with you once upon a time and I wanted to see if you remembered.
It was over 2 years ago now and I was visiting a girlfriend at the time at penn state. We were waiting on pizza or something like that right inside one of the dorms (I can't for the life of me remember which one). Anyway, I was kicking with a shanty old sandmaster wearing vans and was doing some basic stuff (clippers, mirages, oasis, etc) and then this tall lanky kid and two other dudes walk in and you real quick jumped into your lavers that you of course had ready to go in your backpack.
We only kicked for about 5 mins 'cause you had somewheres to be, but you did some amazing stuff and ended the mini-sesh with a 69. I had no friggin idea what the hell a 69 was at the time but it BLEW MY MIND!!
just wanted to share this with you and let you know that that chance encounter really did motivate me to continue with footbag (and get some proper shoes, proper bags, etc etc ). The person who without a doubt has influenced/motivated me to pursue footbag is nick polini. I know you guys both go to penn state main now and I will definitely try to make it out there to kick with you all sometime. It would really bring things full circle if you catch my drift

I have kind of had a weird weekend. Last night I went on a date, which is something I haven't done recently. It was pretty fun. This morning I found out that one my friends I met while hiking the AT died while jumping across a trail next to a cliff. Besides for my grandparents, he's about the first person I have known really well to die. I've spent the rest of the day thinking about him and how he did not deserve to die right now.
I also played footbag a few times, which is something I'm much more used to in my life. However, my back has been bothering me a lot, and I think it is time for a break. I plan to replace my normal sessions with jogging and long periods of stretching.
I've also been thinking a lot about our sport's public image, which I know is on a lot of our minds' fairly often. it bugs me that flipsider.com hasn't been around for like, 5 years, but it still marks the pinnacle of promoting footbag. We really need a replacement for it. The closest two sites out there today are fourkast and shredglobal. With no disrespect meant to Red or Dale, neither site pulls off what flipsider did at its best -- making footbag look cool.
I also was really interested in what Ken and Jon S. have said about wishing that the term "footbag" didn't exist. The amount of time we spend "educating" people on the difference between hacky sack and footbag is really not worthwhile. At the same time, "hacky sack" isn't really a great name either. I think the best term, and the one I use the most in everyday convos with other players is just "hack". Short, to the point, has an association with hacky-sack but doesn't sound as lame.
Eh, just my 2 cents for today.
Edit: Oh yeah, since I never ended up re-filming for Mark's contest -- the combo I hit was vertigo>fog>phoenix>69.
