Just wanted to say it was great to see you at USO. It's too bad we didn't get to play, but it was fun hanging out, and you consistently made me laugh throughout the weekend. It also made me happy to hear you say on Saturday that you had the best session of the last 3 years. I hope that inspires you to start playing more regularly, since you have so much natural talent. Hope to see you at some future footbag tournaments next year.

PS- I totally didn't fart.

Haven't been kicking footbag at all lately. I've played 3 times since the US Open. 2 of those were with jake wren when he was in town. Practiced a hard 3>3>3 that i've only hit once and it was somehow mid-string: toe near non-symple rev swirl>stepping far muted rake>gyro mirage. Also did some drifters ending in zoid. Still want to hit blender ending in zoid. it'd be sick to do b2b

I'm just not interested in playing by myself, so footbag falls to the wayside.

Got hired as a library supervisor. Woo! still need to apply for the library sciences grad program which has to be through the university of washington because it's the closest program to missoula. It can be done through correspondence though and i'd only have to visit the campus once a semester. Slowly making the dreams happen.

Still going on runs pretty regularly. Did 6.5 miles the other day. Felt good. And haven't had a cigarette since June 28th. Ballin'

Hockey season approaches soon. Stitched, mended, and adjusted my hockey gear for a few hours today. With this new job, I can probably afford to dish out $250 for adult league. Have only been doing pickup games and solo training for the last few winters accept for when there's an open spot on one of the teams, then I would fill in every once in awhile. FUCK YEAH!

That's an awesome job that you landed, and Missoula is an especially tough job market. Congratulations! So, does this mean that you'll be staying in Missoula for a great many years to come? I know that I certainly would. Most other places in the northwest are disappointing compared to that fine city. Best of luck with applying to the graduate program at UW. That's the same program that both of my parents did back in the late '70s, but they lived in Seattle at the time. I don't know if a distance education program was offered back them. Good call on the recent health kick too. Good decisions all around.

Ordered a pair of lavers in 8.5. I usually end up getting shoes .5 to 1 size too big, so hopefully this will help my lavers game since quantums are no more

Bottled my American IPA a few days ago. Its a little sweeter than I intended and turned into more of a Winter Ale than an IPA but still tasted fantastic. Needs another week to bottle ferment.

Some specs for it:
-original gravity: 1.051
-final gravity: 1.013
-IBU: 34
-abv: 5.7
-orange in color

Debating between starting a Belgian Dark Strong Ale tonight, or a Bourbon Barrel Porter. The latter will be fairly easy because it has a simple grain bill and you just need to add 4 ounces of whiskey soaked oak chips upon secondary fermentation. The Belgian Strong has a fairly complex grain bill and very specialized adjuncts., but the challenge would be fun.

I may just throw something else together though to use up the liquid yeast, chinook, cascade, and centennial hops sitting in my freezer.

btw, I've been hitting the gym. mostly cardio. Lifted weights for the first time in probably 8 years (high repetition of low weights). My chest hurt for 4 days. it's been a little over 6 months since I quit smoking.

i would like to bring some to the vegas jam, but with the laws about fluid ounces and airplanes, it wouldn't work.

Played some footbag with jere yesterday. It was fun. Loving the new lavers. Afterwards I went home, turned on the camera, and immediately hit barroque first try. i was like YEAH!! and then looked at the footage and it was 'the'. lol! hit far non-symp twirl a few times. practiced pdx torques. oh yeah, also got frankenstein on camera... and some sweet flying hip hits.

Did 1.5hours on the elliptical. Burned about 1000 calories according to the machine, then went to work and dominated some mountain lion stew, sushi, and a sandwich with some elk meat.

The level of shred is high, but 9 out of 11 videos of watching the same people gets boring... look, another blurriest. It's the variety of shredders and editing styles that always drew me into the christmas calendar. But it's not my place to say anything. There's a lot of work put in, we get new videos everyday, and maybe i'm just more partial to styley shred instead of technical shred.

I asked Jay about the participation of various countries, and in a nutshell this is what he told me: he asked a ton of people to participate, many of them said they would, but at the end of the day a lot of people ended up bailing. So he's had to fill in a lot of the days with his own videos, which is a shame. I agree that variety is one of the things that makes the calendar great, which is why I made a point to participate.

Now's the time of year to prepare for 2012 hiking/camping adventures. I have a year round pass to Glacier National Park and want to spend a lot of time up there. Will hopefully just spend a lot of time high up on the peaks of the rockies, but me and my gf have completely different work schedules.

Also thinking about spending New Years on a snowshoeing/camping escapade. I've never been winter camping bc i've been too chicken shit to do it, but Ive been studying how to get it done. Who knows, maybe I'll take a page from Riley Stark and send a dead pine tree up instantly in flames. Might end up doing it solo, so hope I don't die in an avalanche, spruce trap, undercut snow, freeze to death, or get frost bite.
