Hey guys. I hit some stuff today with which I was happy. I haven't played in, like, a year, due to a messed back (couldn't walk for a while and had to quit my job) -- I've had a handful of 30-minute sessions since, mostly BOPs if that. And I hadn't played for, like, a year before that because of some other injury -- possibly back again. So this was extra notable for me because of that. One of the blurriests was the, and I can't tell about the flurries, but they were the first ones I've ever hit. I also hit flurry > handcatch > other side today, but those ones were the.

It's nothing like Jay's crazy Finnish calendar, but let me know what you think!

Nice stuff!

It's great to see you play without leg braces.

Nice stuff man, counting you didn't play for so long it's even more impressing.

Those tricks are hard, and you do them both sides.

Hope everything goes well in future

We should meet up for a session! Do you have any time off over the holidays? Alex is in town as well. Lets get it together facebook-wise.

Nice tricks btw! :D

Adam: Funny. I just posted the exact same thing in the FAT blog.
Thanks guys! Yeah, my knees have been okay (probably since I'm not really playing), but my back is still fucked, so I can't really do runs. Maybe spinning and ducking, but as you can see my winter shred space is too small for spinning anyway.

Your post sounds really familiar. Back in 04 when I hurt my back with sciatica I went through the same thing. Took a year off, couldn't walk, then walked most that year with a cane, and had to relearn footbag from scratch. The difference was that I appreciated the game so much more. Just doing bop was fun again, and I just enjoyed the fact that I could still play after thinking I would never play again. That perspective has made me such a better player. I hardly ever get aggro about hitting something and I focus a lot more of my energies on form that ability.
Glad to see you are still playing. If I had any advice, it would be to work on form a lot, which yours is looking good but can always be improved and do a ton or core work, A TON. It's a huge difference, my back problems just melt away as long as I'm hammering in my strong core. If I get lazy and take a couple of weeks off, I am very prone to throwing my back out. When I'm diligent about it, I never notice any back problems. Lastly, find a good yoga instructor and get into yoga. It can be euphoric for your back. Best thing I ever did for myself.
Keep kicking, and just appreciate every moment you can. :)

Nice man. I really smiled when I saw that you didn't have to play in braces. Hope your back feels better soon. Oh and really nice stuff in this video.
