Hack Man vs Circle Preacher

Post by h4x354x0r »

Don't get excited, there's nothing technically chewy in the video. Instead it shows the tension between me and the circle preachers for use of the venue. Thanks so much to all the students who kept the energy flowing, made me the card, and the guy that ran my camera for me. MU students are THE BEST!

That's AWESOME!!!

There are definitely regular preachers on OSU's campus and I've always wanted to either drown them out with music or do what you did here (though I don't think I have that showmanship just yet :P ).

We actually ran into some awesome weather a few days ago and my friend played violin while I kicked to the music and it was a hit!

way to keep the hack alive while schooling a ridiculous evangelist!

For the record, I usually co-exist with the preachers just fine. If I'm there first, they just walk right into the circle and start yelling (really, they are true a-holes), and I move off to the side. If they are there first, I just set up off to the side.

I used to go somewhere else, but I've decided I'll just set up off to the side. I put my radio up against the base of the concrete wall pointed the other way so it projects my music out towards the street, and the circle preachers still get the acoustics of the circle for their voice.

This is the first time the students have really played me off of against the circle preacher though. They students love to heckle the preachers. Brother Jed is a master street performer; he's the king of the Speaker Circle Freak Shows. But his wife and horde of minions? Not so much. If it weren't for literally years now of them being unbelievably rude and inconsiderate of me, I probably wouldn't have done that.

To put things in perspective, I got a 2nd session on speakers circle this week. Days after being exalted by the students, they spurned me:

But at least this rally has a little more meat to it!

Those were some pretty nice runs, Fogel. Nice torques, and nice drifters too. I hope I get to jam with you sometime soon. Maybe its time for a little trip out to MO when the weather warms up...

It's gone viral!

Post by h4x354x0r »

My Hack Man vs. Preacher video has gone viral! A new facebook page called Mizzou Meme did one on me. Someone replied with a link to my YouTube channnel. Some students picked it up, and it snowballed from there. It even spent a couple hours on the front page of reddit (some of the comments are fucking hilarious). The website RightThisMinute has asked to put it on their website as well, but it hasn't shown up there yet.

Almost 8,000 views on the video today! Yes, I am amused :P
