Monday I played footbag as scheduled. Hit nothing of note or anything and didn't feel like blogging about it. I'm in a serious funk lately...
Workout Streak: 144
Tonight was a Convict Conditioning workout. Horizontal pulls still hate. I'm going to switch to a bent knee variety to try and build up strength.
Jump Rope:
0:04:00 (+19 pts)
Horizontal Pull:
11 reps (+14 pts)
Body Weight Supported Squat:
30 reps (+13 pts)
30 reps (+13 pts)
30 reps (+13 pts)
Workout Streak: 145
Turns out I've hit the supported squat progression standard twice now and went 5 over once. Cool, guess I'll be moving on soon. I thought it was 3x40 not 3x30, so that's cool. Half squats now. Might be interesting.

Footbag today. Wanted a longer session but I wore my legs out pretty quickly...
Double switch > double switch
87 contact tiltless run > hand catch
After that 87 contact run I was out of gas. Did a little bit of drilling afterward but the legs were super sluggish so I decided to quit. I get to check a goal off my 6 week challenge, so I'm super happy. Next up: 100 tiltless contacts.

87 is indeed my current record. Soon to be broken.
So yesterday I was chatting with Natel and I mentioned something about Vegas Jam... it came up because of a Pawn Stars marathon on TV (pretty sure we watched EVERY episode of that show yesterday..) ANYWAYS, when I mentioned Vegas Jam looked like a lot of fun and I'd love to go she started looking at flights. She decided they aren't usually too expensive and she'd love a weekend trip to Vegas. So, I really Hope there is a Vegas Jam next year!

One of my current goals in footbag is to get 10 contacts of shuffle. I feel this will go a long way to taking my game a direction where I can start to feel confident playing guiltless. I went into my session this evening with shuffle on the mind...
fear > plo rpt
5 contacts of shuffle at the start of a 43 contact tiltless run
fear > smear both sides
fear > smear rpt both sides
Happy with the results. If I can keep working on these links and get them really solid I should be able to get a 10 contact run without too much trouble. Something like fear > smear > fear > smear > plo > fear > smear > fear > smear > plo Sure it's a pretty boring string, but you gotta start somewhere right? The hard part is going to be getting consident with those links. I have a bad habit of setting a goal, working really hard to hit it and then just move one, without spending time getting the muscle memory needed. I just Hit it and quit it. I also will learn stepping. I hit stepping ss clip both sides today.

Awesome job man! You're approaching Guiltless quicker than you think. Keep going after that 10 shuffle goal. As a matter of fact, I might borrow that goal for myself. I have yet to hit 10 shuffle I think 6 is my most (Rubberman drill). I REALLY suck at shufflin. You will be way better at shuffle than me and maybe some good shufflers around today if you keep going after that goal, then when you hit 10, up tit to 15, then 20, etc... I'm excited to see you go Guiltless
Thanks Nick! I hope you're right.
Convict Conditioning tonight:
Cycling:
0:15:00 || 4.5 km || light hills (+54 pts)

Vertical Pull:

Horizontal Pull:
10 reps (+13 pts)
7 reps (+9 pts)
Bent knee
Body Weight Supported Squat:
15 reps (+6 pts)
Body Weight Half Squat:
15 reps (+8 pts)
Uhg. Horizontal Pulls hate me. I thought doing them with a bent knee would help me get the momentum going and build the strength up so that I could do them proper, but even bent knee just isn't working and I'm losing reps instead of gaining them.

More progress with shuffle. I was kind of hoping I could break the 5 contact marker, but honestly I didn't try all that hard for it, instead working on more contacts and then stepping a little bit.

I don't think I've ever tried to spin out of a swirl, but I will give it a shot. I'll try to remember it tomorrow. I'll also try that combo there.

97 minutes. Longest in a long time. Not gonna lie, most of it was spent on Ken's Challenge, and finally got it at the end. Here is a few runs from today:

I'll try to get both on video. I just got a new camera (just a point and shoot. Pentax WG-1 if anyone is interested) and the video quality is ok imo. Major plus is I can take video with something other than my webcam which I was using before... But with the 4GB card I have I can only take up to 10 minutes of video. So it's not really a start the camera and forget it's there kinda thing... I only filmed for probably 3 minutes today.
Yeah, with my other blog video I could only do 20 minutes (no quality options--just "bad"
), so I had a system where I would film for maybe 3-5 minutes, or until I hit something neat, and then either delete the nothing, or start a new clip. Then I also know that every neat thing is at the end of a clip, so I don't have to search. Actually I did that with my new camera too, even though I COULD just set it up and forget about it.
