RCS IN DA CLUB
I know I promised Stephen Barnes 1 shots but we just didn't do it. Scott and Justin S had other things to do and the park was pretty crowded, so next week. I did one but Reilley had difficulties with the camera so I don't know if will post it. It was like, smear>dimwalk>mixer>a couple BOP then drop. But to make up for it we have this little gem made by Khoa Nguyen. Enjoy!

Definitely gonna miss Khoa. His reactions are so epic, it made me think whatever I was hitting was cooler.

First Alki session of the year was a good one. Sunny, clear and about 80.
Everyone had lots of good stuff, but I'll let them post so I don't forget anything.
Me- I was playing so-so at first before Justin Stephens got me started on tripless. Then we spent most of the session trying to break each of our previous records of 4. We both have had many 4 4 add combos but just never were able to get that fifth. Not anymore. I feel like I will easilly get 8 next week and am hoping for 10+.

diving clip>du. clip>spinning clip>rpt

I can't wait for the US Open but at the same time I'm glad I have plenty of time to improve beforehand.

Great session at Alki. After not dropping when i was warming up for like 3 minutes I knew I was going to play well. Some highlights include...
-A couple of strings of more than 20 contacts. I was told that one of them was probably closer to 30 but I wasnt counting
-Half of rubberman
-Blurriest for the first time on the first try
-Super intense tripless battle with Dan that led to both of us breaking our records and hitting 6. Pretty sure one was blur>dimwalk>blur>dimwalk>ripwalk>ducking down

I want to quickly post about this past weekend before it's too far out of my mind. Promoting footbag and our local club at Northwest Folklife 2012 was a success. I have been texting back and forth with kickers from the event for several days, slowly answering their questions about where to get bags and what shoes to wear.
Dan and Johnny did a really good job representing the club and shredding. Johnny and his son Angelo both had gotten matching mohawks. I was more into doing my own thing drifting from hack circle to hack circle than I had anticipated going into the weekend... sorry if I wasn't really acting like a team player on Sunday.
The casual kickers were definitely a cut above this year. I think real footbag is seeping into hacky sack culture as the years progress -- now the sort of players who have maybe one trick up their sleeve were doing mirages or around the worlds, and not just stupid ass serves that never go to the intended place. Here are a couple guys Dan and I shredded with throughout Memorial Day weekend after about an hour of schooling:

I only filmed a little bit earlier in the day, but they both progressed from primarily doing one trick each into doing consecutives of various moves (I'm pretty sure Warren hit five or six consecutive around the worlds and Kris almost got through mirage > legover, rpt among other things... in big ass boots). They both got clippers and pickups too. That's a huge amount of improvement, and that's what this year was like. It's all about exposure to different moves and concepts.

WOW!...thats super sick....glad your pushing the game hard man....SUPER PROPS TO YOU...i will attempt again at joining the ten club soon...bustinjustin wrote:New fearless record:

one question..... bs blur>motion.. I thought motion was only a four if you hit it from a toe.....is this true or do you count it as a five.... ( not to pick on your combo...its super cool , sick , and i havent yet hit ten ) but just curious... also.......props on 12 bw
Again....SUPER PROPS JUSTIN... to be honest , i am super excited about meeting and shredding with you....open is going to be a blast...
SHRED HARD!
Motion should be a 5 regardless of where it's hit from. It's two dexes and an osis. Since there's no way for motion to get paradox, setting surface shouldn't affect how many adds it gets.Jazzkid wrote: one question..... bs blur>motion.. While I'm here, I just wanted to say I think it's great your club is going so strong now. Definitely an admirable accomplishment. I look forward to hanging out and shredding with you all at USO!

I had a quick little session today, I thought I would work on rakes. I've been putting sporadic attempts on mullet rake lately but my rakes are really bad. Not a concept I've ever really been able to understand. I was excited since I've been at it for a few weeks and it's a new 7, 8 on the way.

any advice on better rakes is welcome. thanks

Always nice to spruce up the place with a video. Also featured is one of my new shredders in training Trevor. He had a great day kicking, and his strings are getting longer.

Guess who's single and spent their Friday night at home? This guy.
Good news for you, I'll be making a lot of videos with my free time.
Density, that is my mantra that is my life right now. I am trying really hard to increase my density but it's not where I want it to be yet. I've been compiling footage to try to put out a premier video. Some days I'm just right on the cusp of the next level and I can taste it. Here is a day where my foundation was good but nothing was quite good enough for the video I'm making, so I thought I would release it as a little taste of where I'm headed. I've been really encouraged by the few of you who have been enjoying my little blog posts. I'm going to keep rolling out with new footage.
My next project is a set of VHS's I've just converted. It basically covers every tournament I went to in 04. Which was all of them. It features more names that I can include here and will be an estimated 10 video project if not more. The first video is taking the longest, once that's out the rest will roll. I'm going to try and get it done this weekend, and ideally release a video every week there after. So it should be a fun little nostalgic series for people to keep up on, and there will be some gems.
If anyone has combo ideas and such please load me up. It's always good to have a little push from your friends.

Sounds like an awesome session. When you wrote "video" next to one highlight, does that mean it is the 6-5-6 in the YT video? I guess my question is, did you get all the listed highlights on video but only released one, or is that the only highlight you got on video?

I performed with my street performing crew FreestyleX3 on the 4th of July. I had a bunch of dropless routines and wanted to be able to easily reference them and build on them, so I made a video. I'm not really posting it anywhere else, so check it out yo! Blog exclusive!
The end of the video has a little bonus from Johnny one of the crew's Frisbee freestylers. I liked the run so I thought I would throw it in.

Also, Ken, I got everything on video, I tape everything now, the 6>5>6 is the first 3 moves of the YT video on that post. More to come...
