I have recently been doinsome bag reviews of Nathan , Nick , Bear, Brian , Hania , and Abshire .....

I have 3 Nathan bags, 3 bear bags , 2 Polini , I Hania , 1 matt cross, 1 netbag , had over 30 Abshires , 1 Joshua raye, two of zachs bags , 1 clavins , 2 holly, and some others ...

Its interesting to me that sizes and weights play a certain way ......
I usually weigh my footbags heavier as soon as I'm get them just to speed up the process then weigh it back down.. ... Some bags I left heavier ..some I kicked without weighing up and when I found out there was lead , I changed it out to tungsten then weighed it up , I play with three weights regularly .. 56 , 66, 76 ... I kick light , then heavy , then session ,,.

I hate the shoe thing as always ...because sooner it later if you don't prefer lavers you know what I mean ....
I have 3 pairs of new qs but one feel too tight , one has inside fabric issues , and one is good ( some fabric issues ) , but I have at least this one to shred in ... I also have 3 pairs of gunits , one has cloth toe like socks , one is good and one is uncut ad broken in ....
2 pairs of lavers fully modded and shred ready

Current gear - white qs ( breaking in ) , sand bag, new Abshire ( breaking in ) / bearbag that im testing , then a Nathan hybrid 75 grams ..and session with red white and blue Abshire medium around 66-67 grams ....

If your reading please post the weight you play at and what u prefer .,,

...I can't even begin to explain how happy I am to be attending open ..,
.. It wasnt easy to commit to open but cany wait to go ... Water temple has always been somewhere ive wanted to shred....i will be filming .

..Anyway ...long post

 Symposium atomic swirling gyro mirage
 Swirling rev up bsos
 Midrun blurry whirl > ripstein
 Finally got a pair of qs I can shred in ..

The first trick is new ...I was basically kicking myself in the damn calf alot then figured out of I make sure the swirl is done under and behind me then I would clear it ....also figure out that the atomic is almost not there ...I used my left upper body side to gain momentum and send me up and in while the other side swirled the bag , then get down in the ball of my foot and push back up for the mirage after the spin

Worked runs mostly ...want to get my shuffle going and figure out what fives I'm gonna use in and out of it ...

Took me 20 min to warm up ...and I play for and hour and 20 min
Took water breaks often and rested one min in between runs

I hit this about three years ago....and i finally put a clean one on camera.....

Today I felt rusty after a couple of days of not playing ..., but got some stuff and then decided after drilling ripsteins and double swirling osis to go after swirling spinning ducking again ...
I hit
-p blender>osis > p blender > run
-ripwalk > ripstein ( flip) a bunch of times
-ripwalk> ripstein bsos
-swirling rev up bsos ( one of them was out of osis )
-spender > ripstein ( got close )
-ripstein > twirl
- duckin rake bs
-flip swirling spinning legover > drop on flip double switch
-janiwalkers
-eggbeater and dlos
-whale tail bsos ( gyro dlo )
- knee pinch > pickup bs
- swirling spinning duckin butterfly 3 different times in the session .

Well ... Last session was weird ...I was rushed from the start but wound yo being productive ...my wife Michelle showed me this cool app on the iPhone for counting calories and it even gives you a target for each day and you can either input your food or even scan it in ...my target calories today were 1318 ... I took in 1900 and break even at 200 if I eat oatmeal tonight ... But I burned 1000 Calories eat playing footbag and playing music apparently .... At least moving gear .... I figured under what I actually think it might be ... Im going to buy a calories burn counter that looks like a watch soon .....

Highlights today ...
Blurry torque ..soft landing ...I am very happy about this
Möbius soft landing
P torque> p torque > p blender
Dimwalk swirls
P drifter mid run
Phasing rev up first try
Phasing rev up> tripwalk

SWIRlING GYRO DOUBLE PICKUP

I thought I'd never even try this trick again after hurting my right knee last time ....but this time it was completely different .....I was trying reverse swirling ss symp dlo ... Or whatever you want to call it ....and then I thought to try a swirling ss symp pickup ...after some attempts figured I would try to set the swirl in the same place I open for the other trick .... And it's technically gyro but the set sends it over there a little before the turn instead of what i was doing before when I hurt my knee ...
I have wanted yo hit swirling gyro barroque for a long time ...I think further exploration of swirling gyro double pickup could potentially help me hit it ....today's attempts were different ....... I didn't really warm up properly today but did hit the phasing rev up a bunch ...it's crazy ..now I have a quad that I could potentially start runs with ......this is awesome ...immediately I think about wanting to hit phasing gyro double pickup ......
There are a couple of big Links that I really would like to see hit
Swirling möbius b2b , swirling gyro barroque, swirling spinning butterfly swirl , swirling montage , swirling gangsta party , swirling gyro Mofly , swirling gyro super nemesis , killer whale > killer whale , phasing ss dlo > phasing rev up repeat ,oooohhhhh those are soooo coollll ...
Go footbag !

after looking at the swirling gyro double pickup attempts and some of the other attempts i did take at swirlin gyro barroque....i realized a couple of things....
-for swirling gyro double pickup....the swirl sends the trick, more than the turn like when i do swirling spinning.
- the set for swirling gyro dp is actually alot easier than than id been doing it....the difficult part is just setting it in the right place and then being precise for the rest of the trick. the difficulty is especially there in clear the second dex...the one after the swirl....it happens under the ankle before the support leg pivots toward the spin...
- the set for swirling gyro barroque however looks like it may come up in the crook of the knee.....I have to experiment with this.

I admit that unfortunately ....I do not do barroques.....I really need to get that trick and an understanding of it before i add a swirling gyro set to it...., so its a little but silly that i occasionally try it...
- there are a couple of concepts that I have learned gyro first then was able to learn the paradox or blurry versions ...gyro blender was easy but p blender was hard at first simply because with gyro I alteady had it under me ...fat blender forced me to turn and put it in the same spot ....also when I looked at p blender as an inspinning swirl it clicked where I could dex ... There are a couple of tricks that I continue to say dream about and it doesn't look like many players are going for the tricks ...I saw circle footage of vasek trying phasing gyro flurry to start a run ...he dropped it but damn he was close ...close enough that makes me think in 10 or less attempts he might have actually gotten it ...I have never hit a true flurry ...I only hit furious legovers, I've hit symp flurry but can't manage to figure the barraging thing out yet.
the rev up thing is the opposite....I do rev ups all the time....I quantum out of rev ups all the time, I hit swirls all the time, and lately been hitting swirling rev up all the time........phasing is the only component of phasing rev up that i dont do alot....but its a super easy set for me and that was lucky..... This is why it looks like phasing rev up is the first quad that ill actually be able to use.... time to start barraging.......

I am also thinking of starting to save up some highlights to edit in video for those who are sponsoring me to go to open.... Ill keep posting footage but maybe save a little....

I can't wait for us open ...at first I was jut going to play the day of comp ...but honestly now I want to go early , leave late , and play and learn the entire time ....things I wish to learn
- how to hit a clean barfly
- how to hit a clean whirl
- how to hit flurry
- how to hit a symp trick with minimal Impact
- how to hit swirling möbius on one of those squares at water temple without falling in the water

Today my wife is getting a tattoo in her back so I drove to Biloxi Mississippi about two hours away from my house ... While she is getting it done I figured I would stop at the nearest casino that I've worked at and have a session by the pool , then jump in

Had a productive 1 hour session
Whirling swirl > duckin clipper repeat ( new )
P torque bsos in and out of ducking clippers
Möbius bsos in and out of ducking clippers
Eggbeater bs
P eggbeater bs
Ripstein > ducking clipper repeat
Ripwalk > blur> double switch bsos

 FLURRY bs ( new )
Swirling ss knee pincher > ss pickup bs ( new )

I'm played outside at night right after I went out to eat ... I wanted to burn some calories and got a clean flurry on both sides ... This move has been a puzzle for me for a long time ...I could hit furious legover bs and have hit symp flurry but wasn't able to hit a true flurry until tonight .
Basically I have been doin knee pinch alot and it's the exact same way to go about doing flurry for me ....I will try and film tomorow ...

Also hit
P blender bsos
Ripstein bsos
Fairy gyro osis
Down double down > blur down double down
Stepping ss clipper bsos alot ...I'm just starting to use this

Oh man...I like flurry

That's neat about the flurries. Props!
It's interesting to me that you, me, and Nathan Pipenberg all just hit this for the first time recently, being experienced players. I could do crispy long before, mid-time too, like you -- it also eluded me for forever. I'd love to hear tips on how to clean the first dexes if you come up with any techniques. I the it really bad most of the time on one side. It was one of my dream moves for the longest time. I agree with you -- it's such a sweet trick!

Also, with the ddd > blur ddd, do you mean:
ddd > blur > double over down?
Or ddd > blurrier?

The second combo sounds really styley!

^ thanks...

about the combo ....I meant the first, although ive done the blurrier one too........I basically just drill my single leg double dexes every session.....Im hoping to have them clean by open and if not I hope someone will help me fix them....

I think its super cool that me , you , and Pipebomb have recently been blowing up the flurries....

i just started doing them so my tips will hopefully become better...but ill try...
first you have to understand that when I first started doing whirls....they were ALL the , and i still dont do barrages....well...until today....

the first dex was the most confusing to me.....i was able to hit furious legover more than a year ago but could never really understand the barrage thing ...now i get it alot more....it was hard for me because with the furious set, the dex starts before the support leg even touches the ground.....but with flurry ,, it seems that the support leg is on the ground during the first dex and help push through the second while pushing off the ground for the simple legover....

really for me....clipper>pincher>ss pickup is what helped me learn how to do it..... the knee pintch shows you how to dex close to the back of your knee instead of your ankle or shin, which was what i was doing before.

I had a habit (and still do) of bringing my knee up to whirl ( which is not correct ) instead of extending it completing out and away from you . With a simple move like knee pincher , you can focus on the extension and get used to the area where the bag is going to be for flurry ( this is at least how im doing it ) .... furious legover feels demanding on my body, but flurry feels smooth and easy... by doing the ss pickup after the pinch , it was helping me to see the bag coming out from that postion....

This reminds me of when I couldnt do spinning ducking so I just worked gyro neck catch ....because i figured if i could get used to putting the bag there then i could just set a little higher and duck the damn thing.....

hope this offers some insight.....Im curious of your thoughts

oh....and today I played for 1 hour
flurry bs
whirling swirl bsos super excited to be able to do this....flip took forever to figure out
swirling twirl bsos
dimwalk>p dlo repeat NEW
got close to symp whirling ss symp mirage
ripstein bsos
p drifter bsos....this feels tighter than ever
reverse swirling ss symp mirage bsos
40+ guitless warm up string...
swirling spinning butterfly starting to feel easy again .....
did a bunch of spinning p mirage >atomic set
atomic ss butterfly >blur repeat
Swirling whirl bs ...this feels alot tighter and cleaner than before ...thanks again knee pincher ....
Some days when I'm feeling like I'm tired or I'm playing on uneven surface or it's 103 degrees outside like it was today ....I do alot of four contact mirror drills so I can be productive ...i will continue to spend some time on whirling swirls and flurries though because They are new to me and I want to be able to used them easily one day ...my strong whirling swirl is consistent but the rest are not .... I have been able to hit swirling whirl for a while but never really use it ...now I'm going to beacause I have hopes to hit swirling flurry and it's variations one day ...I have daydreamed about anz , Milan , honza , and Penske hitting swirling flurricane but maybe I'll actually be able to get it one day ...I hope so
Tricks that instantly came to mind after hitting flurry
- swirling flurry , phasing flurry , phasing gyro flurry, swirling gyro flurry , toe flurry , blurry flurry ...,oh man The list goes on ....and oh shit maybe I'll even hit barroque ...
I'm coming to get YOU swirling Gyro barroque

That pincher trick sounds helpful really. I'm going to try that out!
I have a similar problem with whirls. I don't think mine are the, but I do the same thing where I don't point my knee out, I point it in, which really restricts my movement, so maybe the pincher will help me with that too! Actually, my major breakthrough for finally being able to hit flurry was NOT thinking of it like a whirling set, which was a huge revelation. Everyone always told me to think of it like a whirling set, and I can blaze pretty well, but then I went to watch videos on YouTube of Aleksi and Chad hitting flurries, and it seemed more like a stepping set, so I tried, and first attempt I hit it.

For cleanliness I started to drill clipper-set double pickups last session, with more of an up-to-mid time stepping first dex. I don't know if it's helping yet, but at least these feel clean with this technique. But, like you, I never did barrages, and when I do, at least one side is completely the (like, no dexes)...
