How did you get so many stranges?
akalazou wrote:  Somewhat Threatening Bonesaw - Kills: 75

Why do you have two strange bonesaws?

Also, would you be up for trading/selling the strange syringe gun? Do you have a strange scottish resistance? Or flamethrower?

the one with the most kill is a ubersaw.

id like to keep my strange syringe gun, but look into my inventory if you want something else, i might want to trade some other useless stranges. If they can be usefull to you, thats better than staying in the closet ...

i got many stranges caus i had a good jog :D i bought a lot of keys (maybe 30 total, i dont really know)

I'm consolidating to try and get an unusual hat. I have not and will not spend any money in the Mann Co. Store. I could drop $20 on some keys and safely trade them for a hat, but that would just devalue it. It'll feel so awesome finally getting one after saving up metal and trading off junk for months and months.

What does an unusual hat do? Any examples?

As for my Mad Milk binge, it wasn't that bad. I basically just made a point to look for groups of 2 and 3 people, milk them, then run away and recharge milk or get a new one from a cabinet. Other than blocking point captures and doing that, I did almost nothing to help my team.

But yeah, thanks for trading. it's always fun having a new toy to play with. :)

Unusual hats have a special effect associated with them. Ever seen a hat with fire coming out of it or glowing with a weird light. That's an unusual. Other than cosmetic appearance they do nothing. I'd say their only real practical use is for Spy checking -- a Spy disguised as someone with one of these hats will be missing the special effect every time.

thats the best tf2 movie imo, that's the kind of movie that made me want to make airshots as soldier. i used to lpay scout at 95%, since i saw that kind of movie, i play soldier at 80%. these guys are awesome !!!

there are good shots and medic, scout, soldier, demo and even pyro in this one, that's a must see.

What do you guys think about it ?

Some really great game play there. Watching competitive footage is always really fun. I can't imagine getting to the point where I can pipe rocket jumping Soldiers and stuff. What the hell even happened at 6:35?

I do, however, think they went way, way overboard with editing. I guess making a promo video for like twenty players has its limitations -- you're sort of bound to the format of jumping around from clip to clip. The transposing of two clips over one another was really disorienting and obscured what was going on. There were also too many moments where it looks like he just blurred or slowed down a random clip of him zooming through an empty hallway with the replay camera.

I don't know if I have a favorite frag video or anything, but I thought this was a pretty good Scout video when it came out. There are similar editing elements but not too much -- I really like what they did while he was playing Sniper.

I imagine that creating frag videos is tough -- just as with making a good footbag video there is a delicate balance of cinematic effect and actual product.

at 6.35, he shot thrgouh the thing aove the door and got an hs.

i know that there is a lot of editing element in the video i posted but thats the thing i like about it.

your's is really great too.

i dont know why, but it look likes that scouts can snipe too, i'm just wondering if its the majority (i can snipe but not that great, and i think im an annoying scout)

thx for the video, it might even mprove my scout skills :D

What are people's favorite maps? Top 5?

I think mine are:

 Double Cross. I like that (similar to 2Fort) a lot of people just play this one like a sandbox, and don't worry about capping the intelligence. I also like the sneaky spots for forward Engie teles (above enemy sniper deck ftw), and the environmental hazards off the bridges.

 Goldrush. Just a great map to play as spy. It's also an amazing feeling on the first map, when you're a blue engie and you manage to put a teleporter in the tunnel beyond Red's spawn, all the way at the other end of the map. Half the time they don't find it, and then they wonder why their spawn is constantly being swarmed by Blue attackers.

 Harvest, when people aren't capping the central point. Lots of fun sniper spots, and also fun taking those snipers out.

 Dustbowl. I just like the flow of the map.

 Hightower. I like the payload race concept, and how the tracks cross early on. I also like getting on the sniper decks and meleeing the distracted/surprised snipers.

1. even if i play a lot of soldier now. my favorite map is arena_nucleus as scout. there is so many ways to play with your ennemy, i killed a heavy/medic combo (while they were capping) on a 2 on me. the health pack is under the cp so if you are last its very easy to get it with the double jump and you normalle are fast enough to counter the cap. this map is just awesome !!

2. arena_granary, very fun as soldier/scout/sniper and sometimes engy. its very easy to get higher than your opponent (for soldier) if you want to play it as scout, you can still play with your opponent but there is no hp.

3. i recently started to play badlands, as soldier, there is soooo many very fun jumps. + since there is so many umps, a lot of players rocket jump and i can train at air shots.

4. cp_badlands, i just like all the versions of it, on both sides.

5. koth_harvest, cp_foundry and arena_ravine, i don't know what to chose. harvest is a well designed map, foundry is really well balanced imo and ravine is another GREAT arena map.

So I was on a server last night, and some guy asks if anybody has the degreaser and powerjack for trade. I check my inventory and see I have two of each, so I send him a trade request. I'm hoping to get one scrap for each, or even one scrap and a weapon total, just so I can help him out more than anything. When we are in the trading window, I put up the two weapons he requested. He asks me what I want in return, so I say half-jokingly "metal or hats." Hats are worth a lot more than what I was offering, so I'm surprised when he puts up a bunch of different hats. He then starts putting up some weapons too, and I notice one of them is a strange stickybomb launcher! I add a bunch of crates to my offer, and ask for the strange sticky in addition to a scout hat (hermes). He asks for a sniper weapon in addition, so I throw in a spare machina. And he does the trade!

A little later, I see him post again on the server asking for metal. So I trade request him again, and trade him one scrap and one reclaimed metal, and in exchange I get back a strange loch n load and an engie hat (10 gallon). So at the end of the night I picked up two stranges and two hats in exchange for 11 weapons and some crates! Crazy. I never misled him or anything, but I felt kinda bad. That said, the value of the items is what you are willing to trade them for, and what the market will bear.

Unrelated note: I set a new personal best for healing as a medic, with 9055 HP in a life. Proud of that.

Hats.

What's your favorite hat of all time?

What's your favorite hat for each class?

What's your favorite hat that you own?
