Haha, Mathieu, your post about my 1300 was the 600th post in my blog!

So, I've only been doing basic drills the past couple sessions. Really all I can do when everyone decides it's cool to come stretch and do push ups when I go to kick lol. I can't really complain though lol. It's better than nothing!

In addition to my normal stepping and pixie drills, I've started to rework dlo >ss dlo > rpt, egg > ss egg > rpt, drifter > pdx mirage > toe drifter > rpt, and rubberman. Two sessions ago, I was 2 contacts away from bsosing rubberman, and this past session i got through it 1.5 times again. It's something I've been neglecting ever since I hit it for the first time, so now I want to actually be good at it, and stuff.

So yeah!

I've needed to practice legovers, cause apparently I'm bad at them. Trying to break my record has been one of my goals the past 5 or so sessions. Finally got legover x100. I know it's nothing crazy, but it was still the goal I was working for.

I move back to school on Sunday, meaning I'll finally be able to play more freely. I'll be less restricted by people being in my vicinity. Ideally, I'll start filming again too. Since my gym is a chain, I'll still be going to the one by my school for working out and the occasional shred, but I'll still play a lot where I normally do.

So I got back to school, and I started trying to drill nukes cause I was tired of not being able to do them. Over the course of 2 sessions, I had a bagillion attempts both sides with different tweaks here and there, trying to base things off my normal atomic set. This yielded a whopping 4 matadors on one side.....all of which were sloppy. At the end of the session there was a very strange pain in my leg which worried me. I don't kick for about two weeks hoping to heal, and here we are now.

Had a session with Drew tonight, and shit, it was a pretty good one (for the most part). I had an adventurous mindset going into it for some reason, so my strings tonight were a bit better I think. Many were still short, but I wasn't counting contacts tonight. I did, however, have a string that was my best string in quite the long time. It wasn't really anything crazy, but it just felt good. It was like toe blur bsos with atom bsos ending on whirlwind > spinning osis/drop.

We drilled torques at the end. I still suck at them, but drew helped me wrap my head around them a tad better. I will be good at that trick some day...and nuclear sets....some day...

Woop woop! Positivity all up in this bitch!

Good mindset.

Props on your first Matadors, regardless if they're sloppy.

New line per thought ftw

I have the same problem with my nukes. Sometimes, they're ballin and I can hit Matadors and Sumos and even duck it, but sometimes I over dex and my knee gets all fucky from the motion. I really have no idea what I'm doing right or wrong. I'll keep experimenting with it and let you know any tips I find for them to make them easier.

Keep it up man. Looking good.

Kicked in socks before my sessions yesterday and today, so I got some nifty tricks on webcam today per request of Kevin Hogan. The last two tricks probably aren't the cleanest, but it's a start.

I hadn't played in a week, I think, so today's session was kinda meh. Made a fair amount of progress with proper breathing. After stuff was working out a lot less than in the beginning of the session, I remembered wanting to try symp atomic rev swirl. Got it both sides throughout the session, and also got symp atomic ripstein. They were nifty. However, I'm honestly not sure how clean the sets were. I can't slowmo the video on the iOS iMovie, so yup.

So...video!

I realized I haven't posted in a bit lol. Oops. Well I haven't been getting to play much cause school has been very, very busy lately. That should be "done" by Tuesday, hopefully allowing me to get in some quality sessions before PSU Jam.

When I kicked on Thursday, I decided to go back to my "roots." Roots meaning, in this case, how I used to get myself to just straight up progress. And that was simply setting goals of however so many strings of however so many contacts. I've actually been having trouble counting lately, so this was a bit of a task. My girlfriend ended up coming by and counting for me, so that was really helpful. It's so hard to count while focusing on proper breathing. But, the breathing definitely helps, so that's more important for the time being.

I upped the goal from 5 strings of 15+ from whenever I used to try that to 10 strings of 15+. Six of those 10 were 20+, 2 of which were around 30, I believe. Hopefully, I'll play enough so that by the end of the week I can try to move to 15 of 15+. I guess once I start doing that consistently, I'll move to 10 of 20+, and so on and so forth.

But for now, I can only pray Tuesday night comes quickly so all my schoolwork can be done for the time being and I can kick.

Thanks!

I hit a quad! 8)

I wish the iMovie on the iPhone could slow-mo, but it'll do! I actually hit this 4 times tonight. I didn't realize I was going to hit it, so there was no recording the first time, but I got it again!

Also got jani > ripwalk > ripwalk > jani as well as a 45 contact bop warmup string, and a bunch of other 20+ contact strings.

Good times.

Edit: forgot to mention flailing revup and flailing twirl also both bs. So yeah, mark definitely inspired these!

Mat, you should definitely just randomly show up!

Kevin, thanks dude. I really want to make it a point to be able to do these new tricks flipside. So, to answer your question from the new moves thread, I think I could get the one trick on flip, I just need to work on it. My flip seems to have a bit of the affinity for the flailing swirling, just not as much as my strong side. Was able to hit a sloppy flip flailing ripstein tonight, though.

Kicked for the first time since PSU tonight, but more on that later.

Quick highlights from tonight:

- fluked tapping revup first try
- toe whirling swirl first try on what I imagined to be flipside. Got both sides multiple times throughout the night (both of which were new)
- atomic gyro pickup a few times
- ripwalk > schmoe > pixie ss whirl > rpt

Okay, so PSU. I really, really enjoyed my time there. I think it's really funny how in the highlights for both Nick and Kevin, there was a highlight in each regarding me being drunk. While I don't believe I played as well as I could have, it is what it is. I got a blister from walking around in tight lavers on Sunday, but I can't even say I played poorly because of it haha. I only ever felt the pain after the runs, not during.

Super, mega, awesome props to Kevin for getting first in circle! But yeah, it was just a great weekend overall. On another note, I really enjoyed Jay showing up as well as meeting his girlfriend, Michelle. Speaking of meeting girlfriends, Nick's girlfriend, Nadiah, also really cool. Very glad I met both of them. Girlfriends who understand footbag really are the best. Mine is the same way.

Okay, so yeah, reasons why I haven't played since PSU. For one, the blister definitely put me back a couple days since I wanted it to heal. But other than that, I got a call from my dad wednesday that we might have to put down my dog soon. My family got him when I was in first grade, so we had him for quite the while. When I woke up on thursday, I decided to skip class and go home to spend time with him. Long story short, he ended up passing that day when I was the only one there. So, I've been a little too off kilter to really kick. My girlfriend really helped me through this, so + more props to her.

But yeah, Footbag felt good tonight.

Before this week, the only triple dex link I'd hit in shoes was blurriest > blurriest a couple months ago. I always kinda deemed myself bad at triple dexes, but between tuesday and wednesday, I hit 4 new ones.

The two I did on tuesday, were funny, cause I was working on blurriest, which I was struggling to get one on one side for some reason. So, I figured, why not just stop being a bitch and put a bedwetter after the blurriest. YOLO! Then, flip blurriest > flip bedwetter first try. Tried to go for the bsos but couldn't get there.

I knew if I didn't bsos it, it'd probably be hard has hell to hit it the other side even though they were both my stronger sides for each trick. It just wasn't happening, so why not just put a jani in front? YOLO? First try, janiwalker > blurriest > bedwetdrop.....Fuuuuuuuuuucckkk. Still baller for me.

Yesterday (wednesday), I wanted to ride the wave. I decided jani > bedwetter would be cool, and eventually hit it both sides. Sweet.

I also realized my body finally wants to learn whirling/blazing. I ended the session with pixie ss clipper > whirling ss mirage bsos. It's not a big deal, but that's just one of those concepts I just straight up couldn't do, even though I could hit whirr both sides.

Highlight summary:

- blurriest > bedwetter
- janiwalker > (other) blurriest > bedwetdrop
- janiwalker > bedwetter bs
- pixie ss clipper > whirling ss mirage bsos

edit: also forgot I hit stepping ss non-symple reverse swirl on saturday. Dropped the next trick, but it was still cool.

Wow...I thought I played better than that ...oh well ....it was awesome to see Dan, John , and Nathan ... I love Nathans style and he could have easily beaten me ... It was such a fun time and I think the most fun I had was right after this circle with the same guys , then we played horse ...( which Polini is a killer if he goes first ...I think I'll pass on that knee breaker ) ;). Thanks or uploading the footage ...at least I know I got better

I realized today I haven't had a real session in a month. A week and a half ago, I had two mini sessions at the gym, but they were nothing crazy. I really have to find the time to juggle kicking with the internship.

Ugh.
