92 panels tutorial

Post by brianbear »

I have been getting a few requests on how to do one of these bad boys, so here you are:
THIS TUTORIAL IS FOR A 2-STITCH 92, but can be applied to a 3-stitch :)

STEP 1:
go here:
http://commo.xtreemhost.com/
select the inches option and type in

pentagon side: .4
hexagon long side: .42
hexagon short side %: 35

Print that and make your templates.

You will need 12 pentagons and 60 tiny hexagons.
stitch each one like you would start a bag, so you will have 12 little flowers.
use the small end of a skinny sharpie for gathering this part.

next enter this in the template generator:

pentagon side: 0
hexagon long side: .4
hexagon short side %: 100

Print that and make your template.

You will need 20 even sided hexagons.
Stitch three flowers around one hexagon and then continue like you would a normal bag.
use something slightly larger for the gather tool, a pen cap might work :)

this makes a bag between golf and tennis ball size, close to golfball i think.
