true the great game of footbag football or as I would like it to abbreviated...
footballbag
also for some strange reason my flails were on. Here's hoping that trend continues, they felt so much stronger then they used to.

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
Thursday session today. Today was the day my legs finally gave out on me. I've been going pretty hard since a month or two before worlds and most specifically for the past month or so, so it's about time. I hit a couple runs that just felt super good and then they were like, yeah we're done.
So with that in mind for the next week or so I'm going to...
1. switch to g-units
2. work on some "basic" tricky tricks
today the basic weird trick was monster. Brian figured it out we think, it feels like a osis inside which is really cool and should open up some cool stuff if I can figure it out. we also played around with bent for a bit but it wasn't as satisfying.

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
Mountain view session with Brian and me. Got to try out the gunits, and I really like them. Not sure if they'll stop the shin splints though.
+'s
sole is much better
catching surface is much better
much more comfortable
-'s
setting is maybe a bit worse
bulkier/heavier
anyway the main thing is I think I'll play better in them and they won't distress my legs as much. So yay!

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
stanford session, the g units help a lot with the hard surface there. Just kinda getting used to things and letting my legs heal a bit so no hard drilling today. I did hit some fun stuff, I'm finally getting to a point where I like my strings.
ducking whirl midstring which suprised me
my whirling set is nasty now because I've been working on barraging so much
lots of inspins
something like stepping ss osis > torque > inspinning clipper mid long string so that was fun

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
wooo ee, no thursday session so my legs felt fresh and healed. No drilling but I did hit
inspinning clipper > ripwalk * 6 contacts
stepping ss osis > spinning whirl > ripwalk > ripwalk > tomahawk > string
stepping ss osis > torque > inspinning clipper > blurry whirl > string
symposium twirl <- new 5 for me
also a string with stepping, atomic, quantum, nuclear, whirling, and barraging sets
pdx whirls and double downs are still harder with the g units but I did hit...
blur > paradon * 6 contacts and
pdx mirage > paradon * 9 contacts
pretty easily
I think soon I should get symposium rev up, far symposium twirl, stepping symposium twirl <- new 6, and spinning symposium twirl another 6
inspinning clipper > ripwalk * 6 contacts

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
tuesday session
Had some really long runs that felt nice and varied. The main things I worked on were inspinning form and my in to out dexes. I have a tendancy to do them on the outside of my body and lead heavily with my foot and catch them on the outside. This screws up my drifters, torques, and dlos so I need to fix them! Practiced lots of clipper ss pickup with good from which is very hard for me.
Also went bowling with Brian and scored amazingly low
. I will have to try again next week.

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
Was Brian bowling as well as he was on the Wii last saturday? Probably not. Here's a few challenges.
Inspinning clipper > gyro DLO or torque
double pickup bsos
spinning ducking osis > drifter
Toe ss whirl > Barfly > Gyro clipper > DLO > rpt.

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
short thursday session, got some filming done so yay! Thanks for the challenges peter! Brian's score wasn't as good as his wii bowling score but better then some of my wii scores
. Although Alex currently holds the wii bowling record now.
hit...
inspinning clipper > torque
double pickup bsos, this one was way easier then I thought it would be. Good challange!
didn't try the other two, probably sunday. spinning ducking osis > drifter should be good, the other one will be harder because of flip barfly but those are getting better.
Todo:
get in out dexes fixed
set it lower on inspins and gyros

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
quick friday mountain view session...
in out dexes part of the problem is I don't have a quick foot switch, so I worked on that a ton
worked on small gyro set's for gyro mirage, vortex, mobious etc.
also worked on whirls a bit, getting the dex closer to the knee and closing better
tomorrow time to go hard!

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
woo finished peter's challanges yesterday. spinning ducking osis > drifter is super fun. Mostly worked on...
toe cranks to do atomics and other toe tricks
finishing off my whirls with more force
some mirage training
also hit...
johniwalker > blurry whirl (not to hard but for some reason I've never done it before)
ripped warrior > blurry whirl (same thing)
also lots of paradox blenders which are getting real clean and easy
I think I should try ripped warrior > blurry whirl > johniwalker > backside blur > merlin sometime, it'd be a somewhat do able string of 5's for me

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
monday mountain view session.
Getting much better at the quick switch, moves it has helped...
symple legover
double legover
whirls
torques
drifter? I suck so much at this move it's hard to tell if it's getting better
also tried some 5 links
motion > pdx blender
matador > blurry whirl > blurry whirl > footed pdx blender
pdx blender > pdx drifter
also lots of tricks with blurry blender

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
tuesday session was good. My form has improved so much!
tried lots of symple stuff including gyro symple legover and spinning symple legover... those two are super strange
hit some downtime combos that I wanted to all of these were midstring...
stepping ss osis > dlo > paradon > infinity > dlo > paradon
dlo > paradon > parfly > pdx whirl
more blury blenders
oh and I hit the new tricks (I think)
gyro blender and spinning blender so yay

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
wooo thursday session at steve's, lots of good progress made on spins and some on swirls but not much that's that interesting to post on
spinning clipper * 5 weakside + a ton of spinning clipper * 4 weakside, this is up from my previous record of around 2 or 3 so that's great
weak gyro mirage is helped a ton to
spinning osis * 5 I think? possibly 6 or maybe even 7
so close to atomsmasher * 3 which I've never been able to do
spinning clipper > inspinning clipper rpt. which isn't super cool but is new for me
a whales tail just to combine my gyro work with my dlo work
spinning mirage > legbeater rpt. (again a weak spin combo)
swirls are getting better to.

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
symposium twirl
some rev ups
flip spinning clipper * 5 like 5 times and super close to *6 a bunch
spinning osis > spinning osis > spinning clipper 9 contacts (I like this as it has some zooms and some not)
almost killed myself doing barrage > paradon rpt. These g-units are just slightly bulkier then used to
symposium toe? I don' tknow what to call this, I'm trying to learn eclipse so I'm doing flying toe stalls, tried to do a flying clipper stall full symposium and again ended up on the floor

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
that flying clipper stall all in the air was classic death.
you bowled a a good game on tuesday, but the shred was non existent.

true that, I think I got 126 or something in bowling. You also bowled and actual good game though with your 209.
Thursday session was good for flip spins, spinning whirl, and dyno
spinning whirl both sides (first time on flip maybe?) but a ton on my strong
spinning whirl > blurry whirl
blurry whirl > spinning whirl
spinning butter > spinning whirl > spinning butter
9 * flip spin (yay up from 5!)
6 * flip spinning butter (yay beet my old flip spin record with spinning butters)
spinning mirage > butterfly for 10 contacts or so (hard because of my flip spinning mirage)
dyno * 10 or so
lots of stepping dynos
gyro dyno
lots of motions
scorpions tail both sides (first on flip!)
pretty close to spinning whirl > symposium twirl
spinning mirage > legbeater> dyno>gyro mirage > legbeater>dyno>spinning mirage>atomsmasher>atomsmasher

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
good saturday with peter back in town
worked on lots of dynos, flip barfly, and flying toe's
blurry flying toe > whirl
spinning flying toe > butterfly
nuclear ss flying toe
some good symposium twirls
100 flip barfly attempts hit probably ~40
at 2 points in the 100 barflys I got 5 in a row! for sure a record for me, I think these will get good if I do a couple more sessons like this
lots of far dynos, I think I had a breakthrough on them which should allow for torquescrew and better motions. Hopefully I'll hit locomotion soon and maybe motionsickness later
I still really really want surging...

Re: dustin's footbag stuff
fun quick solo session. Peter, Brian, and I talked a lot about how we should all do more weird tricks which look cool but don't get done to often. The list we came up with was...
double knee bumping (ansii's gyro double knee bumping mobius was what spurred this one)
double inside kick
clipper kicks
flying toe/eclipse/clipper stalls
rakes
refraction <- juries still out on if this looks cool or not
unusuals
Those were the ones we could think of off the top of our heads. Brian is great at all the kicking ones + unusuals and rakes. I'm ok at rakes, the flying stalls so those are the ones I'm working on. Also, stuff ending in inside instead of clipper (I would put this with unusuals I guess because it's not clipper or toe).
Today I bassically just worked on dyno's and this stuff since I didn't want to be sore for tomorrow tuesday shred. I hit...
blurry whirl inside (the dex feels like a whirl so I'm calling it a whirl and not a mirage part of this is possibly because my insides are kinda cross body)
ripwalk inside (butterfly ending in inside is way harder then butterfly ending in clipper, this one feels more like an illusion to me but that goes against the other way feeling like a whirl so I don't know)
blurry refraction > ripwalk rpt
so close to/probably would have hit if I wasn't scared of smashing into a table (playing inside is hard)
blurry flying toe > whirling crossbody rake
blurry flying toe > torque
very close to a flying clipper stall, this one is frustrating me
